Bad wifi after new radio flash - Nexus S General

After flashing the new leaked radio my wifi does not connect for more than 2 seconds
I restored a aokp nand I had and I get the same results...
Has anybody else experienced this?
Should I reflash? Or go back to kl1 radio?
What do yuu guys think?

Most likely is the radio you flashed, since this is sticky after flashing ROMs. I would recommend going back to another radio (or at least the previous one you had).
BTW, which leaked radio did you use?

Question: Radios and ROMs

Hi,
I've noticed some of the ROM require new radios, and the usual reason is that "by not using this or that radio you will brick your phone". Now, if this is true, wouldn't also the opposite be true? If I need to downgrade my phone, how do I do it then?
Cheers!
Anyone? Hoping to do this while my "other half" is still on vacation with the kids
Whats your exact question now? You can flash Radios and ROMs separately, so there is no problem... What is meant with the Radios: Dont use "normal" Radios with 576MB-enabled ROMs.
If you want to downgrade: Just take a stock ROM. It includes ROM and the fitting Radio all in one...

Ok, excellent - thanks

Anyway to run Cyanogen with the 6.35 radio?

Sorry if this a repost but I'm new the the Magic (I've got a Nexus One as my main phone) and I'm not having any luck searching for an answer.
I'm running CM 5.0.8 on my Rogers Magic and to get it working with Rogers I had to downgrade to the Dream radio (version 3.22.26.17) and I'm getting poor reception and battery life. I'd like to go back to the 6.35 radio, but I don't believe it works with CM. Is this just a kernel issue? Anyone know how to get them working together?
Bump, maybe some progress has been made on this? I am wondering the same thing. Is it possible at all or will it ever be?
I think you can .. not 100% sure ..

Extracting radio from nandroid backup

Hi folks,
I'm currently with Telus and I will be re-rooting my phone but I don't want to lose the radio that came with the phone. Is there a way to extract the radio, maybe from a nandroid backup?
I find the radio that comes default with the phone does not suck as much battery power as the other international radios do.
Thanks.
I might be wrong, but unless you flash a new radio, it remains when you flash a new rom....
Nandroid backups unfortunately don't include the radio.
Some people find that installing 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22 gives performance that is similar to the Telus radio (63.18.55.06DAU_6.35.08.20).
Hopefully there is a way to extract a radio since I'm interested in that as well.

I can confirmed, since I've rooted my phone, I've tried all the Radio's available and the one I have found to work best is 63.18.55.06IU_6.35.08.22 ! Although some people are using other Radio's and find that they work as good as 08.22 so It's pretty much up to you to test the radio's and find the one that you think works for you!
Cheers
Take a look in the
[ROM] Official HTC Hero RUU ROM + Radio Links thread. (sorry they don't let new users post links)
The 08.22 radio you want is there. Download and put onto your SD card. After flashing your rom reboot into revovery and flash the radio file just like you did the rom file.
as someone sort of guessed at here, radios are something you don't have to worry about.
a radio doesn't get backed up or restored in nandroid. but also, a radio doesn't get flashed when you flash a new rom onto your phone.
the radio software stays exactly the same unless you specifically flash a different radio onto your phone. and then it stays like that forever too until you flash yet another different one on there.
so stick with your default radio, assuming telus actually sets it up with a telus-friendly-radio out of hte box...
if you accidentally screw it up, flashing .08.22 radio will get you back pretty close to where you are now in terms of performance. However none of us probably has the original radio from our telus phones any longer because this didn't become common knowledge until relatively recently, so if you CAN I suggest not flashing any radios on your phone at all ever. that way you will retain the radio software taht came with your phone which, hopefully, is better than anything else for our crazy telus requirements.
so go ahead and flash roms, you'll have no troubles.
When I first got my hero, prior to rooting, my reception at home was terrible. I would routinely get 0 to 1 bars. So this would have been with the stock Telus radio. In fact, every phone I've had has had terrible reception in this location. After flashing 08.22 I am now getting from 2 to 5 bars at home. So although the 08.22 radio is supposed to be close to the stock radio, I'm finding it quite a bit better. Your mileage may vary.

Can't change radio after 3.14 update

After the latest 3.14 update from T-Mobile, I've been having trouble with the new 2.15 radio it came with, seems data drops a lot more often and eats my battery away. However, when I tried to go back to 2.12, it won't work. Progress stays at 0%, so this leads me to believe that I'm either doing something wrong or I'm screwed because I updated it. So which is it?
Also looking for help in moving back to the previous radio
It would be awesome if someone can provide a few pointers to go back to the radio that came with the previous (2.14) ROM. Unlike a lot of other people who are reporting improvements in battery life, my battery is draining a lot faster, like OP notes here. So, I am looking to go back to the previous version other radio.
Thanks in advance!

You got HSPL3 installed? Did you flash via SDcard and now you are stock SPL?

I'd go with this too, I downgraded to 2.12 radio without issues, flashed via USB ofc (both 3.14 ROM and 2.12 radio later).

Is radio flashing needed?

hello
my dhd is now rooted, Eng S-off and Radio S-OFF...
next thing should be flashing rom, but do i need to flash my radio as well? (going with revolution 3.0 rom if it matters?) - if radio flash is needed, how do i make sure i get the right radio for my dhd? there are 2 radios available to download on the revolution 3.0 rom thread
first time i am doing this so just want to make sure.
thank you
Getting DHD tomorrow.. I wanna know too!
Its not neccesasry but if a dev says a certain radio works better its worth flashing as it may help battery and speed of rom

As above, you don't have to but it's recommended for battery purposes etc.
If you have any problems with your ROM not performing properly, flash the radio is the first thing people will say to do!
You don't have to but sometimes trying different radios can improve signal and battery life.
