The only way you could have that on a stock battery is have the phone off and battery pulled out for 34 hours.
I'm getting a lot better life with the overclocked kernal and midnight eb13. 8hrs of moderate usage and was only down to 55%. I'm loving it.

I am running through the stock battery AND the 3500mah battery each day on EB13. I dont know if its my usage has changed or what, but EB13 is a battery hog. Lost 25% from my 3500mah battery overnight as I was sleeping. LOL.

keep an eye on your TWS. This has been a huge issue for me, and keeps draining the life out of the battery. Only solution so far seems to be the ariplane mode toggle work around.
I was able to make 30+ hours on a single full charge with dk28.
I still haven't put eb13 through its paces but from what I'm seeing, its great with battery.

if you all want better battery life then disable your data network ...the way to do this is hold down the power button ...just like you are turning your phone off, you will see the data network. hit that button..it will disable your internet constantly running in the back ground and also will disable notifications...you can turn it on at your discression when you want to check your email, internet, or anything pertaining to data network...but trust me this will give you alot more battery life..also you can install setcpu and clock it to run lower when your phone is charging, not in use , or even when you are using your phone...this also helps substantually...good luck guys

Very nice suggestions I'd also like to add that using Wifi will use a LOT less battery then 3G probably 80% of the time. At work I have poor reception so leaving 3G on will kill my battery, however WiFi it's not uncommon I leave work after 10 hours unplugged with only 20-25% of the battery used! Make sure to set the wifi sleep policy to never if you go this route, that way it never goes back to 3G even when sleeping.
Turning data off completely and using the phone only lightly all day at work (a few text messages) (10 hours unplugged) i've left work with 88% percent battery remaining
Battery life has improved greatly. I turn off background data, stop the Omadrmblablabla service, no live backgrounds, but it is full color. With moderate use I can see 10 hours and still have 40% before I go to bed.
My battery life has been greatly increased too. The battery indicator seems much more accurate too. I did the factory reset several times, then wiped and used the samsung installer.

I wish I could be as lucky as you. This is by far my biggest complaint with eb13. I have tried flashing multiple times to no avail. How did you update? odin, samsung exe, update zip, or ota?
I did an odin flash, and my battery is much better as well. On 2.1 stock I would usually get about 16 hrs with my usage. Now, with the same usage on EB13, I can get about 36hrs (charging every other night).
I did the zip update first, and my battery was awful and only lasted for 4 hours. But since the odin flash, everything is great!

Samsung exe. Did you update your profile and PRL? I had TWS issues until I did that. After updating the PRL I have been golden.

What's the tws bug that drains the battery? Airplane toogle does what?
But as for myself, I'm getting way better battery on eb13. I think some people have bad experiences sure to installing done apps rgat may run in the back ground. Do this test, reflash stock. Don't install any apps but what thee phone comes with. And use the phone for 2 days. Then you will notice rgat index outer does last longer.

I have tried that as well, no dice. Only the airplane toggle seems to fix it. I have to airplane toggle every time I boot up. Once I do that the TWS is around 2-5% which is normal for me.

exactly. If it does fix it (seems sporadic at best), it will not stay applied after a reboot.

TWS = time without signal. Airplane mode resets the radio on the device and somehow fixes it (albeit, temporarily). I read somewhere on here people believe it has something to do with the fact that, for some reason, the phone is looking for a gsm signal as well as cdma, and since this is not a gsm phone, it obviously can't find a gsm signal. The constant searching for gsm is causing a drain on the battery. This happens in areas with full sprint coverage, like my house. For whatever reason re-setting the radio forces it to stay on cdma mode only. I think i read someone saying something along the lines of it being a problem because this is was an update created for devices across the board, ie, for both cdma and gsm handsets. Its just a bug that needs addressed. Some people have it, some don't -- which is even more frustrating!
If you are not experiencing this problem, please tell me what method you used to update. I have only tried Odin (and update zip once), so I will try the samsung exe to see if it does anything.
Anyone noticing this? Both my wife and I have noticed a sudden drop in battery life, even though we are on different OS's and don't recall any new software.
Likely to be unrelated, but it's just strange.
I'm on Bionix 1.3.1 with Go Launcher
She's on Stock Froyo with Launcher Pro.
my battery life has been jumping all over the place, and my phone has been getting in the habit of randomly shutting off
bye bye samsung
if you're rooted, perhaps try going to Recovery and wiping battery stats?
Wiping battery stats from recovery has been known not to work right. Download the Battery Calibration app from the market for free. Just charge your phones to 100%, open the app and press the calibrate button, then unplug your phone from the charger. Then fully discharge your battery and charge back to full without a break. Hope it helps!

Just some thoughts, one thing I've noticed here in Birmingham at least is that, regardless of ROM, my phone swaps backs and forth between 3G and 4G constantly. It definitely affects battery life and it's something unique to my area I believe. When I go to Atlanta, it'll stay on HSDPA and as a result I get longer battery life. T-Mobile actually had widespread issues with this and supposedly fixed it but from the sounds of things it's still a problem in many areas.
As far as phones shutting off randomly, that could be your ROM. I had that problem on one of the CM7 nightlies but after going back to stock with Odin and giving it another whirl, that issue went away.
same here and I re-calibrated my battery already..
both mine and gf's battery are worse now.
Our phone is 1-year-old..and it is ONLY 1-year-old...
cant believe the battery life can last that LONG...
Got my LTE upgrade done on my Xoom and now the battery is a joke. I went into settings and disabled the LTE connection, so that now 3g is only used. I also turn wifi on when at home. Currently my Xoom is draining 4ish% per hour while in standby. That means this damn thing won't last a day just sitting there, locked, with no screen on. In Honeycomb 3.0 and 3.1 I could get a days of use with 4-5 hours of screen on time and about 22-26 hours of total unplugged time. Now, under 3.2.2 my battery is totally dead after 18 hours of unplugged time with around 1-1.5 hours of screen use. This is virtually unuseable for taking notes in graduate school after work, when being close to an outlet is impossible.
Any ideas as to what's going on? Tried using Watch Dog and System Panel to see if any apps were going nuts with random CPU usage or RAM usage and everything seems to be in-check in terms of system resource usage. Considering I have 4g totally turned off and wifi enabled when I'm in range of wifi (most of the day) I don't have a clue where this power drain is coming from. Any assistance is highly appreciated given how much I rely on my Xoom for day-to-day use. 3.2.2 seems to have killed it for me.
Please help! Will try any suggestions.
Thanks.

Its not just you, mine is the same way it sucks big time. There really isn't anything that I've found to fix it.

I haven't but this isn't feasable. I use mobile internet for everything and even take notes and such on Google docs. Even though I'm near wifi for most of a given day, I shouldn't be bothered by manually turning mobile data on and off just to have power- mobile data should be mostly killed when wifi is active. That's how this Xoom worked before. A tablet without internet is nothing more than a paperweight to me. 2 classmates with LTE upgraded Xooms are having identical problems. No fixes found yet. Any other suggestions? This battery life is really, REALLY bad.
Tried going a factory reset and battery life is the same, horrid short, running nothing but stock apps.
Any other suggestions?

Same problem here, but I have the mobile network completely turned off and it still does this! Even with the switch to CDMA only!
I will keep reading this thread (only read the about half the posts before posting) so hopefully a solution will show up. But you're not alone in the horrible battery life post LTE upgrade!
I've had my Xoom back since last Wed.
No higher battery drain than previously.
I'm on wifi 90% of the time in home and office.
Yesterday I was all over north San Diego county using 4g. Got home with 60% charge which is about the same as for a prior trip with 3g.
Put your xoom back the way it was. The new hardware sucks the battery a little more. Buy a thunderbolt and then say the xoom battery life sucks. Never charged it during the day before the upgrade. Oh well, that's the price if 4g.

Download Auto Airplane Mode by DON from the market. It will help BIG TIME!! It does just what the title states, it puts the Xoom into airplane mode automatically as soon as the screen goes off. When you turn the screen back it, the data comes right back in 3 -4 seconds and you're good to go!
Also, you don't have to uncheck any settings or turn 4G off.
Update: Mobile data completely turned off, on wifi only with Xoom sitting about 4 feet from router all morning, so wifi signal was strong. This is the first time I've used the device today. Unplugged at 330am my time, its now 130pm. Device battery is at 60%. 10 hours and 40% of battery gone. That's with mobile data 100% disabled, wifi only- can't even get the Xoom to standby for a full day now. At this current drain rate, it would go from 100% to 0% in one day with no mobile data usage, no screen on time and no usage other than syncing Gmail every 2 hours.
Brother who commented above: Thunderbolt will standby for a full day with no screen on time on wifi only and it has under 1/3 the Xooms battery capacity. I should know- my wife has one and it now outlasts my Xoom. That should not be the case.
From my understanding the Xoom has two 3225ish batteries set up in a sequence. My battery life actually seems to be about half of what it was before. Is it possible that one of the two was disconnected during the LTE radio installation and not properly reconnected? Wasn't sure of the details of how the batteries were set up, but if the Xoom could function with the second battery not working, seems like that would precisely half battery life. Anyone familiar with exactly what had to be done internally to upgrade the radio? Looking at the ifixit teardown of the Xoom, the batteries cover the whole backside- looks impossible to do any internal work on this thing without removing them. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Landon

Same here. Can't get a full day out of it. Hope a fix will be comming up.
Thunderbolt got the he-man battery and modded my otter box to fit. The xoom battery has entered the battery hog realm after the lte radio. As far as I can tell the radio is cdma/lte together. And it uses power even if wifi is on and data off. It's what I would call big brother watcher. Even if your not connected the radio is txing and rxing something. You know it's lojacked!
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Interestingly enough, removing the LTE SIM card and using wifi only made no improvement to battery life. I'm assuming the new radio is running at 100% all the time without throttling down, even if absolutely no connection exists or there is a string of faulty battery reinstalls in which only one battery is providing power. That might explain why some people seem to have greater battery issues than others.

im glad im not the only one with this problem! its pathetic! im taking my charging cable from my dock with me to work so ill have at least some battery life when i take the train home in the evenings
i to am glad that I'm not alone with this either. I use to charge mine every 4 days with no wifi on and almost no use. Now I get about a day with no use. I mainly use it for web searching and dungeon defenders when I'm home. Horrid battery life for doing nothing. Luckly I mainly only use it at home and am almost always on the dock I got from motor from the upgrade. I use about 4% an hour also with nothing on. Mine is completely stock with no root.
Yahoo mine is stock with absolutely no root or other mods. I guess they knew about the pissy battery life and that's why they gave a free dock. Lol. Still trying to find exactly what's killing the battery. LTE does drain a lot of juice but as I've stated before my wife has a Thunderbolt and per mW of battery power, the thunderbolt is more efficient and that's not saying much. It can standby for over a day with no use fine and it has roughly a little less than 1/3 the Xoom battery capacity. Something isn't right. Its not supposed to be this bad. Anyone filed a complaint/tech request with moto/Verizon? I think its something that we should all do and report what they say here. I have a feeling more and more people are gonna have this issue if they do the upgrade. Maybe if enough of us make some noise, something will be done.

Maybe it's not the radio.
3.2.2 may have some kind of interaction with something you guys were running that's causing wake locks to get stuck
Did you look at Settings:About Tablet: Battery Use ?
(tap on the histogram at the top for another, see if the time spent awake is solid or different from screen on)
I tested this on mine, with the mobile data disabled and lost about 1% battery every hour, this is on par with the performance I had pre-upgrade.
Rooted, stock kernel
I realize it does not help you but you might look somewhere other than the wireless radio for the problem. I unplugged my upgraded Xoom yesterday morning around 8:30 AM. It is now 8:20 AM and my battery is at 66%. I was on 4G for about 2-3 hours yesterday, the rest of the time on wifi. I check and respond to my mail on the Xoom so it saw some use yesterday, though not as much as I normally do.
I am getting terrible battery life, and it happens because the proximity sensor doesn't work right. I don't know how to fix it, I tried to flash another phone.apk or something to disable it, and it just crashes whenever I try to make a call.
The same thing happened on Evo deck as well as Cyclonic.
Another problem is that whenever I reboot, the battery stats are wrong. I will reboot at 57% and it will be 43% when it starts up again. I am almost sure it is a hardware problem, unless this happens to other people.
For the battery part try recalibrating your battery then run it till it dies then charge till 100% and you should see better battery life

Try flashing the ruu and see if you get the same result. Since you are already rooted, rooting again should be simple.

Rebooting always causes battery drain because of the boot animations. I have a new update on rom manager with sysctl mods in it that lower the battery temp a lot, puts your phone in laptop mode, and a few other things that seem to help battery. But I try not to reboot very much because of how much it drains. I made the rom on rom manager because of battery drain issues in particular and I was getting pretty sick of it as well.

I'm having the SAME problem but I was getting excellent battery life until I started using SS9 App2SD. Does having my apps installed on my SD card because it suuuuucks now. Even before on SS9. Whyyyyyy????

If you messed up your charging port this will charge your battery directly through AC without needing the phones micro USB port.
As for the "proximity sensor" you might want to take it in to a Sprint store and have it looked at. I would run RUU 2.2 before you do that though.

Try flashing Dodge Kernel 1.6.
Why does using Apps2SD use more battery life? Because your phone uses more CPU to access the SD card while starting an application I would guess. You should ask strapped365 via PM or ask in the SS9 thread.

Constantly switching from 3g to 1x also kills battery life majorly. If you are getting bad 3G service turn off 3G and switch to 4G. This will actually improve battery life. Your phone only needs 1x to receive voice calls and send SMS messages.
credit to newkidd on this too.
Apps2sd incorporated into S.S. "fools" the system to think that the ext partition is part of the system... Majority of the wear is on the sd card, I'm guessing the cpu might be working a little more, but nothing substantial enough to drain your battery.

Having the A2SD on a Rom does not use a significant enough amount of battery life to affect your battery life the way you stated. As you stated " Even before on SS9 " . My guess is you may have a rogue app. You can try booting into recovery and wiping battery stats. Also as VICODAN mentioned, if your on the stock kernel. You can try the dodge kernel, it's quite good.
EDIT : Just saw you post above. If it does the same thing regardless of what Rom your on. Then your battery is probably done.

IDK ever since I rooted this phone my battery life has not been very good. I've followed the cm wiki on troubleshooting battery drain (wipe battery stats, drain battery all the way let charge back up ect), and nothing seems to really help much. I wouldn't say it's the charging port as much as it might be the type of charger. My usb cord for my pc sucks for charging until I went out and bought a cheapo wall charger that seems to do a much better job. So yeah that charger you mentioned would probably help a lot. My battery isn't warped or anything, you should of seen my G1 battery lol.
As far as network I use wifi when I'm at home which drains the crap out of my battery more than 3G. When I'm out away from home my battery is pretty decent though. But differnet roms have differnt wifi settings so that's probably another one of the issues.

It was so long ago honestly I can't make a fair comparison to then and now. But since then I've done a lot of things. Flashed my splash screen, recoveries, radio updates, roms. Which radio are you on? I've heard radio's can effect battery life quite a bit but not sure if it applies to the shift very much. Now that you mention the Evo I'm thinking about trying to port salvagemod gingerbread just for fun to see how it pans out lol.

The only thing that won't come through is picture mail, but you'll get a message telling you to download it. I think you'll have to turn 3G back on to download it.
Although, doesn't wifi take precedence over 3G in the first place? So essentially wifi shuts off 3G except when a picture mail comes through?

I can make calls on just wifi just fine. Maybe because my kernel supports wifi calling?

Has anyone else noticed the battery draining incredibly fast while on a call? My battery went from 81% to 67% after a 15 minute call. The battery doesn't go down anywhere near that pace during any other function I've used it for so far. In fact, if I don't make or receive any calls, it lasts all day. I checked battery usage and it was only at 2%, which is definitely not right and there was nothing else showing up under usage that could have been the culprit. I've had the phone for 1 1/2 weeks now and it is definitely the only time it happens.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
What network?

Sprint
Check how strong your coverage is. Sometimes weak signal will drain your battery considerably faster.

Someone else mentioned that as well, but I had full bars even it happened. What's even more weird... When I only have 2 bars, the battery drops less while on a call. It's the strangest thing I've come across on the phone. I love everything else about it and I'm going to keep it regardless. I appreciate your input! Hopefully someone else has this experience and can find a cause. I thought I was very knowledgeable on Android and had seen everything since I've been on it since the original G1 (which I still have lol), but it's a new one for me. I also don't get the complaints about the camera...I was in the backyard taking pictures today, just test it out, and it's definitely better than my S7. Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to respond and help with ideas and if you think of another one, let me know!
