Qualcomm released their driver for ics armv6 devices
we may have hope for a fully-working ics!
link is:
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...no-2xx-gpu-binaries-for-on-ics-armv6-devices/
Adreno is their GPU line.
Won't help us out.
but its adreno 2xx and the wildfire fits in that catagory
The Wildfire has no GPU, ergo drivers for a GPU won't really help.
we can still dream
Sorry to say it owner but nejc is right, the drivers released are for a gpu, we wont get anything from this. The only thing we can dream of is software acceleration which will come from cm team most likely.......... eventually, when they've got it running smoothly for everyone else, we have a crappy phone now compared to most so we are at the bottom of a pile.

i know wildfire is slow
i know the wildfire is slow and crap compared to like the htc sensation,
but its been through alot of times good and bad, nobody thought the wildfire would be perm rooted but it did get rooted
i still have hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I prefer not to dream, and see wonders come real when not expeced.
It would be a good sequel for Willy the wilderbeast....... but I can't see that chapter happening lol
MANCHESTER together UNITED forever
maybe wildfire has a hidden gpu
Is the information here incorrect?
https://developer.qualcomm.com/device/htc-wildfire-s
Manufacturer: HTC
Name: Wildfire S
Model: HTC Wildfire S
CPU: Qualcomm MSM7227
CPU Clock: 600 MHz
GPU: Adreno 200
Platform OS: Android
Operators: T-Mobile
Yes, it is incorrect. This is the HTC Wildfire section. Not the Wildfire S section. We lack a GPU. Unlike your device.
Nevermind. This thread is about the plain Wildfire. :|

Does bell galaxy s have hummingbird or Qualcomm?
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Actually it's Android...
LMAO
that was funny
it's like apple or pear = orange
Obviously his question in the Subject says OS but the actual question in his post refers the the processor type.
As far as a quick Google says I believe it's the Hummingbird.
Is there any way of looking at hardware names/specs on Android? I could look at my device and give you a definitive answer.
The Bell Version of the I9000m uses a humming bird CPU infact the specs are quite the same to the european version with the only exception being the 850 Band versus 900 Band that is in the euro version. Other than that just some bloatware for software which you can take any rom in the developement section and apply with it with confidence as I've done almost all of them. Currently running JPH with Rombie Lite Mod. Very nice...
i do think the OP should change the topic to
Bell galaxy s CPU
Lmao wow I can't believe I said OS haha I meant the processor lol
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Are u guys 100% sure cuz I checked gsmarena and it says ARM cortex a8
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
definitely Hummingbird
but according to Android System info ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8156087&postcount=58 )
we got a ARMv7 rev 2 (v71)
hey guys how to change the topic?
The Hummingbird is apparently believed to be a modified ARM processor, and their database probably didn't have Hummingbird
System Info wont help much here either, it can only check the instruction sets..
Well the Evo 4G gingerbread source has been released, and I was wondering if devs could use it to fix the graphics glitches, since the Evo 4G has the same GPU as the HD2
it has not the same gpu.
and i don't think that a source from a device with the same gpu would help.
desire helps and it has also not the same gpu as the hd2.
Hello fellow galaxy comrades. I've finally bought myself a galaxy s2, I absolutely adore it. But I just have a question, when I use android system info ap its says that I have an ARMv7 processor, however when I check the Internet many sites say it should have an cortex arm9.
My gpu is mali400 which seems fine but I'm just worried i've picked up a variant. I'd rather have the original beast.
Have a picked up a variant?

As legit as a bar of gold my friend...the terms you see are purely technical terms hence the variance. Not to worry, the other variant (cut down version) has LCD rather than LED (not as bright, vibrant or wow factor), has Nvidia chipset (slower than Mali). So I would be surprised if you were even able to purchase the variant (Samsung I9103) since it has not been released for sale. Specification of the variant...
Thank you for your quick reply, I'll be hitting that thanks button when I get to a computer
Sent from my MT15i using XDA Premium App
ARMvX is the architecture, the cortex A9 is an ARMv7 design.
Also you may notice that some programs say only 1 core, but thats due to the phone hotpluging (aka adding and removing while the power is on) the 2nd core as and when needed to save power.
Just make sure the box says GT-9100 and you're all good. There were no CPU variants with this product code.
I think the Nvidia Tegra II version is the GT-9103
what if you get i9250!!!
omg droolz~~
well just incase the OP take this seriously; its in IFA consumer electronics Samsung device lineup.
Samsung I9250 (W48) - 4.65" SuperAMOLED of HD resolution (1280x720 pixels), Android Ice Cream sandwich, 5 MP camera.
lol thank you all for your kind responses, puts me at ease. I shall be thanking you all.

Every Arm v7 device with the Adreno 2xx is supported!
Re: QSD 8250, Adreno 200 hardware-related proprietary ...
In order to provide enthusiasts with recent improvements made to Snapdragon's Adreno graphics drivers, Qualcomm has made the updated Adreno 2xx graphics driver binaries available here. Note that you will most likely need to be a developer to take advantage of these new drivers since they'll require integration with the CAF release of ICS, but Qualcomm is providing these driver binaries "as is" to those of you who have requested them.

If its the real good stuff, then pushing the adreno libs will make your system not boot
could anyone with more knowledge explain what this exactly means?
yeah, I hope for better HWA (in ICS), of course, but is this right? what exactly are developers able to do with these?

i thought that was not true hardware acceleration
meaning, its fake
and now we are able to fully do it
Great find, Kevin. I have moved your thread to Android Software Development and left a long redirect so that more people can learn about this, as it impacts all devices with the Adreno 200 GPU, not just the HD2.
Edit: I have featured this thread on the XDA front page. Again, great find, Kevin!

it is "fake", as like ugly-ass hack.
My question - to someone who knows such stuff - was does it really mean we finally get full ICS HWA?
edit: woah, seems to be greater than I thought, thread moved. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the HD2 :>

Indeed. Although, you could say that the HD2 has already had far more than the rhetorical 9 lives, given how many operating systems have been ported to it and how much active development it still sees almost two-and-a-half years later.
Full HWA for my Droid Incredible? HELL YEAH!

Qualcomm, Thank You!
WOA! this means Cyanogenmod 9 has become 90% more likely for a f*cking huge load of devices out there!
thank you qualcomm
Is this gonna help the HD2's ICS camera?
Is this legit? are these libs already being used by the devs here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386197
Yes. Qualcomm announced them a few days back. Some of the ROM devs have already included them.

Yup, some ROMs like IceColdSandwich use it already
Is the performance boost really that great? Would be awesome.

try reading that thread...people said that adreno 205 outperformed sgx 540 in some benchmarks...and one things clear that when you play gta 3 on IceColdSandwich and then play on any other sense rom, you see the performance....there's no lag in ICS whatsoever...
But IceColdSandwich is an AOSP Rom. Cm 7 with gingerbread runs GTA smoothly, too on a DHD.
So the question is: is the Desire HD really that much faster with the new drivers and Sense.
DHD users will we get it oficial with htc ICS update?
Yes in a couple of months

No but trust me, that gingerbread rom doesn't run gta 3 as fast as the current LC's ICS run...try checking it yourself, there's definitely a boost..
Well, if it does beat sgx 540, then i think adreno 205 becomes 4th or 5th fastest GPU around after Tegra 3, tegra 2, mali 400, adreno 220...i mean, sgx 545 is being used in iphone 4s i think, so if adreno 205 beats sgx 540 then it competes with sgx 545, in other words Iphone 4s...
I think, OCed to 1.5ghz and adreno 205 with new libs can perform nearly the same as iphone 4s if what i've said above is correct then i think most of the upcoming dual core games can be run on DHD...
but nothing can be said until a proper benchmark is done with new and old libs...

gsmarena starts saying that when the update s announced and not necessarily released.
To be honest, i will not stick with the official update but the custom one since they're optimized for better performance and most of the junk is removed...
plus, sense 3.6 might put you out because of the similarities to 3.5 which gives me another reason to get ported sense 4.0 rom rather than the official 3.6

you are currently looking at a GSMarena page saying an HTC 1 year 8 months old device, is upgradable to ICS
excellent work by HTC, seriously
More than 20 months worth of update support.
Yes, we will only get Sense 3.6, but that's not what's important. The important bit is the kernel.
I figure HTC could very easily just release a kernel for phones that they want to support but don't want to build a full ROM for, and let homebrew devs do the rest.
