Does bell galaxy s have hummingbird or Qualcomm?

Obviously his question in the Subject says OS but the actual question in his post refers the the processor type.
As far as a quick Google says I believe it's the Hummingbird.
Is there any way of looking at hardware names/specs on Android? I could look at my device and give you a definitive answer.

The Bell Version of the I9000m uses a humming bird CPU infact the specs are quite the same to the european version with the only exception being the 850 Band versus 900 Band that is in the euro version. Other than that just some bloatware for software which you can take any rom in the developement section and apply with it with confidence as I've done almost all of them. Currently running JPH with Rombie Lite Mod. Very nice...

The Hummingbird is apparently believed to be a modified ARM processor, and their database probably didn't have Hummingbird
System Info wont help much here either, it can only check the instruction sets..

Wait for Galaxy S4 LTE-A?

Was waiting for GS4 Octa 32GB to arrive in UAE and it is available now but this LTE-A variant has Snapdragon 800 and Adreno 330 which is definitely faster than the original version, I am not able to decide if I should get the 32GB version now or wait for the LTE-A, will Samsung release this internationally? I change my phone in two years so I want something which doesn't get outdated soon.

Wait for the LTE as it supports 4g and support glse 3.0 and has better battery life so it cud spend more time with u
but if u want a phone for 2 years dont choose samsung because its screen burns and becomes bad after sometime

Well I am using S2 from the last two years and no issues with the screen so far, I don't care about 4G, the choice is in between Exynos Octa and Snapdragon 800.

most likely won't come international. Samsung always releases a korea only version, as their networks are generally more advanced then the rest of the world (not as good as Japan's networks though).

So you mean S4 is not a good choice if I want to keep the phone for two years, what about S4 Active it has TFT screen but will have to compromise in internal memory as it has only 11GB available for usage.

Phablet is too big for me, I don't like any phone more than 5 inches, S4 fits best but with so many variants it is really difficult to decide what to get which can be with you for a long time, 32GB plus point for I9500, Screen plus point for Active and Snapdragon 800 plus point for LTE-A, it is really confusing.

Just one last question, the Octa version has powervr SGX 544MP3 and Snapdragon one has Adreno 320, was reading on the web that only Adreno 320 will support opengl es3.0 which will come with Android 4.3.
Does this mean PowerVR is not future proof?

Nothing is future proof .
Get the S600.
North Americans use that device... my experience is that devices that have more North Americans using it tend to have more developer support... possibly because they have alot of programmers over there ?
The long and short is long after Samsung stops releasing updates for the phone teams like Cyanogen will still support it.
Secondly Google Edition runs on tbe S600

I am also in uae.. I choose i9505..its best for the future.. Supports opengl es 3.0, the hardware is same as that of google edition s4..so you will get updates faster(aosp) & may be even after samsung stops updating the s4..s600 is more developer friendly than the exynos version.. So you will have so many mods or coustom roms etc

theyre pushing the boundaries already, they must have known that the snapdragon 800 was going to be released soon when they released the s4
they could have waited instead of releasing a hundred variants
now early adopters are stuck with slower, more expensive versions of the same device(kinda since you can always buy the new one but its still a double expense)

Yap thats not practical. Just, why samsung? Are you too greedy? Why so many version? If the S4 comes with just one variant and that is packed with snapdragon 800 and adreno 330, even for international version, that would be great.

Exactly, it even would have been easier to sell millions of them without having to bother with extra hardware(failed octa, snapdragon 600), less expense=more money samsung should know this

Same feelings. I feel cheated.. I showed my support to Samsung.. Purchased SGS4 I9500 on the very first day despite of thinking about expensive price.. And later they came up with all those variants..
Neither they are releasing documentation for Exynos nor doing tremendous work in fixing bugs we are facing.. I would say, I will never ever go with Samsung again..

There's really no need for an S4 with Snapdragon 800 and Adreno 330 (i9506).
Sure on paper it may perform better than the current S600 version, but will we notice in real life usage? Probably not.
The original Galaxy S4 S600 variant is more than enough hardware to run anything we throw at it, at least for the next year.
So be happy with with your S4 and just wait till the S5 is released, this will be even better again than i9506 version.
And so the cycle continues. This is simply technology for you.

Exactly.. If I get good after sale service from Samsung. I am more than happy of for that.. Samsung sucks in maintaining public relations and keeping promises.. They are liars, cheaters.. IMO Samsung is doing this to keep up the competition with the recently released HTC One.
Their very first S4 may have been better in terms of specs but those who used HTC One and S4 in real life knew the difference and knew that HTC One was way better.
Therefore, they are trying to win this competition by releasing another variant of this device with better specs and also trying to reason the price.
But a word of advice to Samsung. There are not many people who know that there are so many variants of a single device. People just come in at a mobile store and ask for a S4. They seriously do not mention a particular variant no.
So Samsung, plz stop sh***ing around and plan on releasing better mobile phones like HTC one and not some plastic mobile with ground breaking specs thrown in which are not 100% compatible with each other.

To be specific, Every variant (except minis) of SGS4 has performed very very well against HTC One in terms of performance, battery life and camera too..
The competition is not HTC One.. They already are way way ahead than HTC One in terms of sales (5m vs 20m)..

Slower versions? Slower where.? In antutu and quadrant? Come on guys, wake up, benchmark is not the end of the road. Be happy with the devices you get with your hard earned money.
Samsung is not the only player in market doing this, HTC and Sony are doing the same. Sony is now preparing honami and HTC is preparing a 5 inch HTC one which will make the xperia z and HTC one owners moan. And within a matter of time we will see devices with 5420 which will beat them all, the cycle goes on

im going to get a phone i want htc one but here in my country its damn expensive , no ads for it compared with s4 and iphone , and you cannot find anywhere cases for it and its not popular but i think its better than s4 .... So i changed my mind and i was intending to get i9505 and this **** have come now but it would be expensive and i say to all s4 owners your phones is extremely fast comapred to its competitors and dont give a **** for samsung as i see this phone an un-needed upgrade and why they dont pack sd800 in note 3 and speed it up then pack it in next year's s5 (***k samsung)

Htc and sony are releasing a 5+ inch devices (phablets) to compete with note 3 so they wouldnt moan just like s and note

I am sure the life span of updates for SGS4 (I9500) will be much shorter than any other device in high end Galaxy lineup Only around 20-25% of SGS4 devices are I9500. I am worried about future updates. That's why I am vouching for either CM port or something like that

my Galaxy S 4 arrived today and I'm really glad I bought it, even stock it's an amazing phone.
But I have some questions, because the data I read on the interwebs is different to what I get on the packaging.
Note: This device was boughtdirectly from Deutsche Telekom - Therefore it's NOT a fake.
CPU - Everywhere I read stuff about his phone, I read "Exynoss 5 Octa". All I get is a 1.9GHz Quad?
I mean, what happened to the other ARM CPU?
And what happened to the 64GB of storage?

There are two models with different hardware, the i9505 is the quad core powered device, the i9500 is the octa core model, available in some regions only. Not sure if there was a model with 64gb but its expandable by adding an SD card.

It is an excellent phone, I wouldn't get too bothered by the processor difference. There is currently better dev support for the i9505 (full cyanogenmod support, Google edition ROM, etc), due to Samsung not being very helpful with the source for the exynos chip.
In reality the exynos version doesn't appear to have much of a power advantage as only 4 cores can be used at a time anyway. Plus the battery on the i9505 appears to be better.

There are so many ROMs, I can't choose which want I want to use first I think I'm going to test Android Revolution HD and hope that it's not as laggy as on my GS III, because I do want to try out the features Sammy has put into this phone.

Most likely the 8974, only the meizu mx3 will have the AB version check anandtech.com that'll have all the info on the Soc. It does however have a low power radio which should save battery.

That's an interesting question. If there's a "better" S-800 it would be odd that with Samsung's purchasing power with Qualcomm that they wouldn't use it in their flagship and allow a Chinese upstart to tout a more powerful phone. The S-600 Samsung used in the SGS4 was "AB" so let's hope the S-800 in the N3 is also. We'll find out when Anandtech does their testing. This is from their review of the SGS4...
That brings us to the Galaxy S 4. It's immediately apparent that something is different here because Samsung is shipping the Snapdragon 600 at a higher frequency than any other OEM. The Krait 300 cores in SGS4 can run at up to 1.9GHz vs. 1.7GHz for everyone else. Curiously enough, 1.9GHz is the max frequency that Qualcomm mentioned when it first announced Snapdragon 600.
Samsung is obviously a very large customer, so at first glance we assumed it could simply demand a better bin of Snapdragon 600 than its lower volume competitors. Looking a bit deeper however, we see that the Galaxy S 4 uses something different entirely.
Digging through the Galaxy S 4 kernel source we see references to an APQ8064AB part. As a recap, APQ8064 was the first quad-core Krait 200 SoC with no integrated modem, more commonly referred to as Snapdragon S4 Pro. APQ8064T was supposed to be its higher clocked/Krait 300 based successor that ended up with the marketing name Snapdragon 600. APQ8064AB however is, at this point, unique to the Galaxy S 4 but still carries the Snapdragon 600 marketing name.
If we had to guess, we might be looking at an actual respin of the APQ8064 silicon in APQ8064AB. Assuming Qualcomm isn't playing any funny games here, APQ8064AB may simply be a respin capable of hitting higher frequencies. We'll have to keep a close eye on this going forward, but it's clear to me that the Galaxy S 4 is shipping with something different than everyone else who has a Snapdragon 600 at this point.​

I took that as read and hence posted that information here, however I see even at the 2.3Ghz clockspeed it looks like there are two binnings for the GPU speed. Bottom line I can't categorically state this is AB bin, my apologies for that - OP updated.
Here is what the Voodoo Report says, as you can see it depends on whether the 0007 revision corresponds to the AB bin:

The table in the referenced Anandtech article shows the CPU of the MSM8974AB as being 100MHz faster. It shows the MSM8974 at 2.2GHz, and the MSM8974AB at 2.3. Given this, I would assume that the note would have the MSM8974AB processor.
edit: Just checked the specs on the G2 and Z1. Those phones list their CPU speeds at 2260 MHz and 2200MHz respectively and both of them have the S800. Samsung lists the Note 3's CPU at 2.3GHz.

Can anyone who has received their s800 note3 please confirm whether or not the note 3 carries the 8974AB soc? I'm really interested to see if they added AB soc like they did with the S4...

Are you sure that S4 has AB? Because if it did then it will be a paranoia not to do the same thing on Note 3 especially that Note 3 is more suited for this tweaked processor due to its thermal advantages over S4. Lets see....

Yeah, I am sure that the S4 uses the 8064AB soc. It's well documented on Wikipedia, XDA, etc. Samsung has already set the precedent of using the AB soc in the S4 so I would be surprised if they did not utilize the 8974AB in the Note 3. I'm fairly certain they did use the AB soc in the Note but I still am waiting for someone with a N9005 to confirm. I'm surprised more people aren't clamoring to know this.

Yeah, I am sure that the S4 uses the 8064AB soc. It's well documented on Wikipedia, XDA, etc. Samsung has already set the precedent of using the AB soc in the S4 so I would be surprised if they did not utilize the 8974AB in the Note 3. I'm fairly certain they did use the AB soc in the Note but I still am waiting for someone with a N9005 to confirm. I'm surprised more people aren't clamoring to know this.

Then that's very good news.I was quite hesitated at first because as far as I am concerned Anandtech and many other tech sites and even Xiaomi in itself promoted/reported Xiaomi Mi3's S800 AB like it was the chosen one and the first on the market and none of them bother to report or had clue that S4 has already the AB variant! Hmm...

The Xiaomi Mi3 was the first phone (maybe the only?) to announce the use of the s800AB (8974AB) variant. The S4 and HTC Butterfly S use the S600AB variant (8064AB). I really hope the Note 3 has the AB variant of the S800, although you would think Samsung might advertise the soc a little more as it does include an overclocked GPU and uses higher frequency ram. Anyways...someone please confirm!

I agree, but Samsung may not want to advertise the S800 SoC too much, because if they say "the S800AB has incredible GPU!" then the Exynos markets would be Plus, Exynos is samsung's SoC brand, and I'm sure they'd rather promote their product over qualcomm's.

The unit in this review doesn't use AB.

Now it's starting to make sense. Thanks for posting this. i found an article somewhere on google that talked about how all Chinese Note 3's would come with the AB variant, but that clearly cannot be the case...still sucks. I am on tmobile so im stuck with the s800 variant. i kind of wish I could get the octo core variant, but i know i wont get LTE and i'm not sure if i would get HSPA+. I've got a preorder in for the note 3 but I'm considering waiting for the new nexus phone. Choices choices....

because Note 3 is much expensive in china, not many people will buy it
and xiaomi has much lower price point at 1999 RMB
also xiaomi has Tegra 4 version this year
so Qualcomm feels NVIDIA will take over the partnership with xiaomi
if they do not offer something real good soc
also Qualcomm is one of the investor of xiaomi

I don't know if the site is reliable or not. But it seems that their tear down reveal that sm n9005 is using the AB chip.
