Linky.
I've actually purchased electronics from them that are a 5 or 6 that I would rate alot higher than that. As a matter of fact I just got an Evo 4G from them that was rated a 6. I'll see on Friday how good it looks.
And good find. Im thinking about getting one of them.
I bought " 5 " rated phone from Cowboom and found it to be in bad cosmentic shape and partially working . I returned it and the refund was processed in timely amnner . I recommend buying "6" or better .
Appears they are not longer discounted. Interesting site nonetheless.

Sales there only last for one day. If they have leftovers, it usually makes it to eBay after a month.

So my dog decided to chew on my nexus and the screen is cracked from top to bottom and is unresponsive to touch...
Have any of you had any luck with finding replacement parts? All I have found was this guy and it just seems pretty sketchy to me... I also found replacement backs which I will probably get.
www.dfwpcrepairs.com/google_nexus_7__tablet_screen_repair.html
Have no problems doing the repairs myself just need the parts first...
I wouldn't trust the website, the cost of the screen repair is very high because asus have made it so that the LCD is glued to the digitizer making it cost a hefty $160 for Asus to repair it themselves.
Also I cracked my nexus 7 and sent it to knowhow coverage, they told me that it is impossible for them to get their hands on a screen.
Instead they're reviewing the problem and giving me a £200 voucher for currys and PC world.

Maybe Asus cover on the warenty dog chewing?

Alright so I just need to stencil the ASUS logo then spray paint it on my dog?
Cool!
Guess I will wait a little bit and what comes around for fixing myself. May email ASUS and see If I can pay them to repair it (doubtful) or worst case senario I just buy another one.
Thanks Guys
I have been looking for Nexus 7 parts just in case something happens to one of my Nexus 7's and I couldn't find anything. ASUS will repair a broken screen for $170(US). It might actually be cheaper to buy a 8gb Nexus 7, harvest the screen and sell the rest of the parts on ebay. You may end up getting it for free if you can sell everything else off. The battery is Worth $40, The 8gb logic board is worth $99, front facing camera is $15, I/O cable(charging port and headset jack) is $15, Speaker is $15 and the charger is $15.
Is the bezel (silver lining around the screen) part of the screen also? Does that mean if i were to replaced a dented bezel, I have to replace the whole screen?

Unfortunately it is.
info
I just spoke with Asus eStore.
http://www.service.asus.com/infopage.aspx?rid=7#!consumer/csn9
Their web site lists nexyus 7 but has no parts listed.
http://us.estore.asus.com/
The person I spoke to said they do not sell the replacement screen and it would be via repair only. I was told the parts store will probably only carry chargers and cables.
I managed to get the part number of the screen it is: 90R-OK0M1L11000U (that is the letter "O" imediatly before the "K")
They had no record of who the (3rd party?) manufacturer of the screen is.
I strongly suggested they offer hte screen as a part for direct sale as the repair cost is approx the same as a new tablet, so not worth doing.
I STATED THAT THE PRESENT RESTRICTION MAKES ME QUESTION BUYING FUTURE ASUS PRODUCTS.
If enough people complain we may push them to sell replacement screen parts from their parts store.
The screen is made by Hydis model # HV070WX2. I still have not been able to find someone that has them in stock. There is a site I found that supposedly has 5k in stock for wholesalers.

would this by any chance void the warranty? my back pocket managed to crack the screen on one i JUST got from RMA. at this point i wouldnt mind buying a new one and keeping it around till replacement screens are actually plausible.
The screens are just starting to show up on the market. They are $160+. Almost easier to buy a new 8GB instead of a new LCD/Digitizer.
I'm hoping the price comes down with competition, but at this point there isn't any competition there's only few limited sources.

ASUS will service it for 202.00, ie: motherboard. They won't sell me a motherboard. They won't repair the one I have. Say they're not for sale, can't sell. I might as well just buy a new one. Last ASUS product I'll ever buy.
i would wait to see what they do with the 8GB with the discontinuing of them before buying screen. Like someone else said, use one for salvage if it is dirt cheap

If you're looking for a motherboard you can pick up cheap as-is nexus 7's on eBay all day. I bought one with a broken screen that 100% works. The crack is at the top near the camera and does not extend into the screen. I got it for less than $50. I know how lucky I got, I feel like I won the lottery.
You can get them as low as $30. Not bad to use the motherboard or even spare battery. Even the back case is worth that almost.

Yeah, I caught that. Only two on Ebay when I looked. $31.00 and 9.90. So definitely the route I'll be going.
Nexus 7 screen cracked
My nexus 7 32gb screen has cracked & I was wondering if any other screen would fit or does it need
To be an original cos of the digitiser?
I have not found the part I need for mine, boo! I need a usb slot for the damn thing, my son was playing with it and left it on the floor, little to no surprise, he was excited and walked away, came back and stepped on the cord part charging it, so now it wont charge.. the internal usb is all screwed up, its just on a little board that looks like its easy enough to replace once you get the board to replace it with.
@hazard1nc: Here ya go, seems to be a really good shop for replacement parts.
I'm going to buy a new mainboard and speaker for mine there
http://stores.ebay.com/Positive-Dreams-Electronics/
There are some usb/audio replacement boards, I think that's the one you want
Still wondering, why the usb/audio boards are so expensive, but this is normal, didn't find a cheaper one yet.
you gotta do a search on amazon because i am not allowed to post links it seems

Pretty good deal, I would have went with the one for $423.00 also. I was lucky last Christmas and got a new sealed white one on ebay for $385.00 delivered, sometimes when you role the dice you win.
Newegg has a 16gb refurb for $370.
Not really a good deal i think. i bought mine 16Gb wifi refubished ( 100% like new) + bundle (case+ usb connection kit+ extra s-pen) for $360 (after tax) last week.

It may not be........
I thought mine was also but its not.
I turned off my screen and took a very bright flashlight beam and low and behold there is 2 specks of dust suspended in the coating on the screen.
You can not see it until you shine a very bright light (1000 lumens), blinding light in fact.
So unless something else would happen to my Note i'm not sending it in.

Wow, my is refurbished. So i guess i cant complaint. The speck of dust didn't bother me at all, but what bothering me is ive noticed a thin thread, like a hair, about 1 mm long underneath the screen. Its very visible when the screen is on. I guess that's why its refurbished.

If you're willing to do the repair yourself, you can probably get one for less then 300 CAD. I got my Note 10.1 with a cracked (one very fine line) touch layer for only 296.63 CAD from Surplus by Design http://stores.ebay.ca/id=679161510&ssPageName=STRK:MEFSX:SST&_trksid=p3984.m1543.l2533
A new touch layer will cost me less then 30 CAD total from a Chinese eBay seller.

A little bit better than Black Friday $199 deal. Device is very snappy with the latest 4.4.2 update.
Same price as Amazon.

Nice for those who don't live near a Best Buy. Now that Amazon charges tax I prefer to buy local to avoid shipping delay and return/replacement is easier.

I picked one up at Staples with price match (almost saved tax plus 5% Staples reward). This was my 2nd try at new N7. I bought one when they first came out. I returned it immediately because the screen wasn't any better than my original N7. This one is so much better. It seems perfect. I also picked up a gpad 8.3 at BB. It's going back mostly due to poor brightness.

HI all,
Got my G Pad from Newegg Tues. and am very pleased. No problems - no light bleed (used the light bleed app to test), no lines of any kind that I can see. My S/N started with 310 - white color, and the box was not sealed. As you can guess I did my research on this forum before buying. I love the size.
Bought it to replace Ipad mini retina which I had bought on black friday. Yes the mini has 1 big problem (which nobody ever seems to mention) - it keeps dropping my wifi signal. It also doesn't see many of my neighborhood wifi signals - it sees maybe 1 or 2. The G pad and my other android tablets see 8 or 9. By the way - I tried out 2 minis - both had the wifi problem.
My first (and probably last) Apple overpriced product. It is going back. I also got the opportunity to hate iTunes.
Cheers,
catapp

LOL that seal does not look like it was applied at the factory. I'm guessing Newegg got the message and started sealing them in the warehouse. Which I don't see as a problem if it makes customers happy. Personally I bought mine from NE on Cyber Mon. and it didn't matter to me that it wasn't sealed. Sealed or not LG should be faulted for letting these leave the factory in less than pristine condition.

Obviously replace the screen is the first thought, I have read reviews on Amazon about the replacement screen from ASUS and its mixed reviews. Should I just buy a new or risk getting a lemon?

For the cost of one of these now....just buy another one used. Or a new 2013.
I wouldn't personally go through the hassle and cost of trying to fix it. ?
Buying a used nexus 7 is a better option:good:
I got a new (barely used) screen + frame assembly on ebay for $50. It works great and the seller was just a couple states away. I haven't had a single problem with my new screen. Parts can be found relatively easily if you don't want the cost of buying a whole used or new tablet. I can't say for sure about the amazon products, but my experience in buying a new screen was painless, quick, and cheap. My kids use my nexus 7 more than I do, so I was more worried about getting it back up and running immediately to avoid being referee to their fights lol.
I got one for 65$ from eBay China seller. And replaced it myself..
