LMAO!!! i'm actually surprised he did not drop the phone with all those jumps and rocking up/down + left/right + side 2 side
the sky diving one was not really unboxing, it was already unboxed, he just pulled it out of his sleeves
so that's disqualified IMO

yeh tasteless, cant believe samsung would want to do something different to advertise their phone. they should just do sleek adverts to music and copy apple...

When reading your comment a phrase that was relatively popular at some time came to mind. I do believe that it had something to do with untying one's knickers...

I suppose it's called chatter and peripheral marketing. If you can get one of your products into a viral video by people saying "watch this video of the eejit in the stunt plane" then it's a success

Just as we thought, more and more videos appearing closer to launch. This is the way Sammy has people hooked to their devices, although as tasteless as some may see, they do grab your attention.

I'm in marketing and I hope for Samsung FR's sake that's just a viral video. It's cool but it could be for a monitor, PC, television, or a dozen other things. The consumer retention of what product that's for would be close to zero.

actually i loved the add..

I can see how it's not apparent until the end what it's advertising, but if it was shown in cinemas (since it's too long for a TV commercial) a lot of people would want to look the video up on Youtube later, thereby giving them a ton of other Galaxy S II info in the Related Videos on the right.
Sometimes I think that's all that is needed. The Galaxy S is popular enough for the name to be recognisable and not need introduction, so the act of presenting displaying a Galaxy S II, even for a few seconds, should get people talking or interested enough to Google it in their own time.

Most people tend to lose their sense of humor when fun is poked at things they own, particularly when it's an Apple product.
Unless I missed it, there's not a single Apple logo or mention of the word "Apple" or "iPhone" in the ad. And as to all the sad people who are saying "waah, don't mock another companies product", um, "Mac Vs PC" ads anyone?
I thought it was simple and amusing.

Agreed. With how often Apple pokes fun at other products I think it's only fair for Samsung to be allowed to do the same. Brilliant ad.

May i ask why you even post on these forums and more's to the point why do you even own a Samsung phone given you have said several times you "hate" Samsung, i mean WTF

This has been very hot on facebook, with many iphone lemmings venting so much anger. It was really cool. The facebook group is called 'ihateapple'. Check it out on facebook and read the comments. There's a very nice story in there.

And of course they are all "idiots", they just want our money, not more not less.
But in Samsungs case we're actually getting features for it, not a striped down, limited OS that not only does not use the capabilities of the hardware but even more so prevents any apps to do it as well.
But that's a different story, the ad was great.

Galaxy Note Review

I did a video review-type thing of the Galaxy Note. It's the first time I've done a video like this - please let me know what you think!

Not bad bud, good explanations of the device, the only points I'd like to make is the quality of your video is quite low so moving freely reduces the appearance of a decent looking video. Also I think there is too much music going on in the background.. But these maybe are just personal preference.

I did do a video scratch test on the Note but I deleted it by mistake... don't really want to risk it a second time!

Nice vid Dom. I agree with jamieross that the background music is a bit intrusive, also you give the wrong screen resolution; it's 1280x800 not 720. Apart from that,

Very nice but you quoted the screen res wrong. You said its 1280 x 720 (like Nexus?) but its actually a wider 1280 x 800. This is why it doesn't fit in the hand as easily as the Nexus.
It looked like a tech review on a BBC program. I wish more stuff on youtube was as good as this first attempt. So 4.5 stars. Would be 5 stars if you got the res correct. Well done!

I already have tickets to MWC!
But really - I've never spoken in my other videos apart from a couple of voice recognition ones so I do genuinely appreciate and want feedback. It seems in general that I have a terrible choice in music and audio levels so hopefully the next time I do a review (Galaxy S III?!) it'll be much better!

It is kind of sad because for some it will probably take focus away from how awesome this phone actually is. And it's also kind of mind blowing that they don't spend the resources needed to make the presentation perfect. There must be some management issues.
