Hi, I've installed MX video player, mobo player and Dice player onto my A500 and I've been trying to watch live video streams from football matches using the said video players but I keep getting the following messages "sorry video cannot be opened" even though the links are live and working. I usually copy then paste the links into the Network Stream option from the video players. I'm on Stock Acer Honeycomb 3.2.1 and unrooted.
Is there a way to make these players stream links from football websites or are there other suitable options? Thanks

What's wrong with using flash player in the browser?

A lot of the streaming sites use third party plugins that can't be installed on the tablet. Had that problem trying to stream from my PS3.

alright guys. need some help here. I have an Iconia n have the at&t verse app installed. I have downloaded some videos for my kids to watch when we go on vacation from the app. yet when I try to watch them I get a native video player error. I guess my question is is there any way to watch these videos within the app or thru a different player???
Presumably, your videos are in avi format. The native player can't handle that, you need to either convert the video to a compatible format, or download one of the many apps that can playback different video files. I am using rockplayer, others have suggested moboplayer. You should be able to find them both in the market.
Hi,
what app do you use to view videos on Dailymotion/MTV/... ? On my HTC I use "Streaming Media Player" (seems to be a HTC app). I tried arcDownload so far, but it is not so good. VPlayer and Rockplayer doesnt seem to stream.
What do you guys use?
Regards
I use stock player. Like it the best so far.
Stock player for MTV??
I don't go and stream from MTV, but if you are referring to MTV/ontv - then i checked, it streams no problem. Dolphin HD to mtv website and then just click on video to start playing. Maybe i did'nt understand the question.
Thank you, I will try Dolhin HD. My problem is, that there is no special player opening for Flash (.flv) video. It is embedded on the site and very slow. Its faster in a standalone player.
upnplay works best for me! Also for streaming stuff from XBMC
When I'm at home, i just stream stuff from my PC with Estrong File Manager via SMB, but still use the stock player.
Use QQPlayer..works great and automatically finds files on ur tab..I think its in market(free) if not Google qqplayer.apk and dl it from a fileshare site
Installed DicePlayer last night. Has hardware decoding. Works pretty good!
Using mx player and mobo player and basic code using soft decoding video quality and sound is awesome
Acer A500 3.2 AsusNetflix patch FTW
nice love it
Just got round to sorting out media now after sorting my themes and rom, using doubletwist since last night and seems to be doing the job playing all the files I'm throwing at it but I'd be interested in what other people would recommend as an out and out media player. I was hoping to find something that would let me access files on the pc and stream them. Any ideas?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone around here is using PS3 Media Server with their Atrix?
Specifically, be able to play movies (mostly MKVs, some High Profile) from the PS3 Media Server (currently running 1.30.1, also tried 1.40 beta 2)
I keep getting some invalid stream messages from all the players and UPNP/DLNA controllers I tried (BubbleUPNP, UPnplay) using Video players MoboPlayer and MX VIdeo Pro.
AVI files work just fine. But MKVs just don't work. I didn't try any other formats (MP4 for example, I would assume it works as it's natively supported on the Atrix)
Has anyone managed to make a Renderer .conf for PS3 Media Player that works well with the Atrix ?
I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. I also searched PS3MediaServer's and couldn't find anyhting that worked. (except one thread from someone asking the same question as I do, with no answers)
Thanks for any feedback you may have.
Noone?

As far as I know. The Atrix won't play any high profile mp4, or mkv. I have used your exact setup. The only thing I can recommend is that you try to have the settings so that it transcodes the videos in a 720p main to low profile that the Atrix can render. I've noticed it doesn't like videos with ac3 5.1 audio. Only aac. Its funny, so many people trash the iPhone 4 but it plays almost all the videos I've tried, whether I'm streaming over DLNA or streaming over the web.

Try Summer Player! It has not let me down yet!
As in object Dlna on Tab 2 don't reproduce many files as .mkv...
How i can solve this problem?
Thank you
hmm not sure what your asking.
to play mkv via dlna I use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free
for the playback and
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dbapp.android.mediahouse&
that as the dlna browser. this gives me mkv with hw acceleration and no sound sync issues.

Thanks, I'll try this. I also have problem playing .mkv files using default samsung video player and mx player.
About the upnp/dlna browser, how's the mediahouse compared to other browser like upnplay?
Your problem with mkv playback is most likely related to running stock Samsung Rom and software. I used to love the stock dlna player until I realized it does not like mkvs. I recommend dice player. It lists and plays all the files on my media server, including 1080p mkvs. And its great because its just one app instead of 2.

upnplay was giving me weird audio issues on mkv+ac3 and this is the combination that seems to work just fine.
