Not had a chance to look into it yet, im posting from my ipad wont be back home till late tonight to have a look. It dosnt mention nothing about the bl in the email i received so i doubt it.

this would raise the selling point for arc
will only sell it if i can get a Gnex or note

From what i understand, we have to buy the software for 140£ and then we have unlimited unlocks.
Well, it´s a good solution for someone ho has a store or is willing to make buisseness in the forum at a decent price.

Yeah, I guess we have to do that. I tried it today and it didn't work.

I tryed version 51 and after download and install, it check for an upgrade. It exist a new version, v60 that download and install but after start new installed version, it requires a dongle for running.
Do you know if version 51 runs without dongle? or version 51 is a fake version to hook you and always finish downloading a version that requires dongle one?
Anyone tested and find a version that runs without dongle?
Thnx

Not able to pay for paid apps in market

Hi all.
I need all tip i can get from members here in xda As the headline says, iam not able to pay for apps in market.
Rom iam using: JACHeroski 2.7.4r2 Port *32A only* *+Super Optimized Rosie*
SPL: Engineering-SPL-HBOOT-1.33.2005-signed
SecurityUnlocked..
By using MarketEnabler iam able to see paid apps, and thats how far i got. Not possible to pay for apps. When pressing buy an input screen comes up where i have to put in info about my credit i want to use with google checkout. Everything is filled in and i got the message when saving: A network error has occured...
Iam using wifi surfing
Edit: Just figured it out. Maybe i have to use 3G? Trying it out.
Before posting i have searched, and result is:
I always read people are happy when they use marketenabler, because it gives them the option to buy (and can buy) apps. I cant buy, dont know why.
Engineering SPL.
If that's the SPL you're currently using you shouldn't be able to BUY paid applications from the marketplace. You're able to see them, however I'm pretty sure you CANNOT purchase them. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that SPL is specifically used for developers, testers, and obviously enough...engineers. Therefore, the feature of purchasing paid applications WAS disabled.
Double-check your sources. I don't mess with HERO ROM ports anymore. I refuse to until someone completely optimizes Drizzy's latest dump of the HERO patch update.
Good luck.
Ok, thank you for a fast reply.

Glad to be of some assistance. Don't worry, I am constantly scooping threads to see what I can do to try and help out.
Again, keep it mind - if the paid applications is considered an IDEAL feature for you to utilize...I would go ahead and re-flash a different SPL. Perhaps the standard hTC SPL.
Otherwise, you're in good shape; if you enjoy your ROM build, stay where you're at.
Here's a little treat for your trouble. ENJOY!

yes it says is a virus,,, but should the devs check the file to see if that can unlock the phone???
I decided to risk it...it says "supported phone was not detected". Also, in the program, if you click "Check Credits", it says bad username/password. Did I do something wrong, or do we need a username/password?

it works fine for me but up to the point where it said wrong username and passwrd
That is what I used to unlock my phone because sony and at t won't allow normal unlock codes to work. Or to put it in better terms they won't give out the codes just like the I phone at t deals. But the program does work and is not a virus. I just had to deactivate my avg anti virus while using it. And even if you have the program it won't work until you purchase a one time use name and password from the un locker website. Cost is about30 usd. Don't buy the normal unlock code price. Look for other options of unlocking.

How about a link to buy the credits...their website is as clear as mud as to which one to purchase.
Thanks
bad username/password.

Which option did you use? I can't get their online chat support to even acknowledge me when I click on it.......
Code is not the best way of unlocking the Sony Ericsson X10.
Many times the codes are wrong and the codes are useless when your phone is hardlocked( Too many wrong attempts)
Cable is the best and the most reliable way to unlock the desire and it is instant too.
You can see this thread for details about how the software works :
X10 Unlocking
You have to search for other unlock method within their site. I didn't have much trouble finding it but then again they sent me a direct link because I purchased a code and they emailed back that no code available at the time but other option available to unlock. With the link. Dont have that email anymore, sorry.

[Q] Arc root

is there a change we would have root soon as the Arc wil be released ?
otherwise i have to go for the SGS2
We won't know til we try it! Shouldn't think it would take long though..
Sent from my X10 using XDA and Swype.
That all depends on how locked down the Arc has been. The X10 still hasn't had the bootloader fully cracked yet.
locked bootloader?
will the arc have a locked bootloader?
i mo more will buy a device with a locked bootloader.
Yes, the Arc, Neo, Pro and Play come with a locked bootloader. Can't see why SE would unlock it.
thats silly though... In that case, a lot of android/root lovers wouldnt buy the phone simply because the bootloader is locked.
For instance, I do not even consider the atrix a choice for a future phone because of the locked bootloader, I wish they let you do what you wanted with your phone, because they can always say **** you if you violate the warranty

Many are going with the locked bootloader now, even Samsung ( though developers managed to unlock in a short time )
Plus, you'll be amazed by the speed of 2.3 OS and its functionality, so I don't think we'll need Custom ROMs and rooting ( keep in mind that most users here seek those because of the stock OS being unreliable and very slow ) talking about all devices prior to 2.3 OS
+1 that was the main reason i rooted in the end... Still on stock rom on my x10 but had optimised for performance. Won't both doing that if the arc runs well.. I like the ui a well as the physical design.. That's why I choose SE over htc/ others.

That is for sure a fact for me as well and as you mentioned only reason to go with SE. (Sony in General).
Rooting will let you do more tweaks as much as possible and unless you are into playing with your phone deep, you don't need it. Hopefully SE will do a better job in terms of support than what they did with X10 and X2 and X1.

But what I'm guessing is that you don't really need titanium backup if you aren't flashing roms...
One thing I really really want root for is wireless tethering

True, but I like using it to backup unwanted preloaded system apps etc. before removing/freezing them Already have a paid license from when I was screwing around with the ROM on my IS01, and it's a little easier than digging around in the folders for the right apks.
And yeah, wireless tethering is a big one. No idea how I forgot about it.

In 2.3.3 wireless and USB tethering is standard, no root is need but of course root is very useful in other situations.

It's not so much whether the Android version will support it, but more whether your particular carrier wants to support or allow it
Let's hope unbranded/unlocked devices have tethering then!

Well, here in Belgium we have completely unbranded and completely unlocked Androids, but because of a conflict of Youtube with SABAM (the Belgian music rights thing), Youtube access is blocked (no Youtube app) on all Belgian handsets. Weird things happen, you never know!

As far as I know, Sony Ericsson is the only vendor that has firmware specific for Belgium. On the X10 for example you can only get Youtube if you manually install the APK from somewhere else. (X10 = 2.1, so no Youtube from the market anyway)
At the press event the people from Sony Ericsson said you can just install Youtube from the market on 2.3 (I think). In any case, I just ordered the Dutch version, it comes with completely generic firmware, and faster updates. Belgium was always a few weeks behind.
Think this has gone a bit off topic, but in general the arc should be an easy one to root, since it can be purchased with an unlocked bootloader ect.

Xoom sixaxis apk

Does any body have the apk or have a link to it?
First off, it's against forum rules to ask for/post paid apps.
Secondly, can you seriously not do a Google search for it? It was rediculously easy to find.
Thirdly, PAY THE DEVELOPER THE $1.65!

This makes me sad, just pay the developer rather than undermine his work. Developers are the reason we are continually able to do brand new exciting things with our Tablets and practices like this would encourage me to take my work elsewhere...
$1.65, you could go beg on a corner and make more than that in 5 minutes.

First, go read the forum rules. I would say re-read them, but chances are they weren't read at all.
Second, Here is the link I found, it's in something called the Android Market...not too sure what that is, but it's $1.65.
Third, it's $1.65. I know, hella expensive. I wish the internet had this thing, it would let you search for things on the internet... Does anyone know where I can Google this idea of a website to search for things on the interwebs???
Its worth paying for dont go warez and support our devs! Btw I just got done playing altered beast with my ps3 remote on my Xoom via Gensoid rom ;D

Indeed it works. It's an extremely easy setup to change the PS3 controller's MAC address to point to the Xoom. It works quite well, but I do not see much use for it really. There aren't many major games that I would use it on. Possibly the Zenonia series, but I've been done with them for awhile now since I beat them so many times.
Word of advice though. It's a good idea if you have a spare PS3 controller that you don't ever use. Reason being: This setup changes your controller's MAC address, and it will need to be re-synced with the PS3 through the USB cable if you ever want to use it there again. Just a useful heads up if you are a frequent PS3 gamer as myself.
i have a ps3 controller and no ps3
use it connected with USB HOST connection and with fpse for playing resident evil - was fairly impressed with that - but wireless connection would be better obviously

[Q] going to buy one today, got some questions

I am going to get one of these bad boys from ATT this morning. I was curious if this is the model that I can pay to get the bootloader unlocked, or if this is unknown right now?
I like the idea of a pure vanilla GB, and the idea of throwing CM7 onto this device!
I am sick of waiting around for the gs2, and frankly, I am interested in the emu scene for the Play.
Has anyone got MAME up and running smoothly? I have the full romset of MAME titles from 2005.
TL;DR If I go get the Play from ATT this morning, can I unlock the bootloader and root it straightaway?
The BL unlock has worked in all XPlay models to date, so you can trust it will work for you too.
There are a couple of Mame emulators for your. Pick the one you find best and be happy.

All emus work excellently on the play. Snes/Gameboy/Megadrive/Genesis/Amiga etc etc etc
The up to date emus are thus -
N64oid - bought off slideme (not on market). Works pretty good.
FPSE - bought off market place. Works awseomely.
Native PS1 emu - Use the convertor in the other threads to convert games. Then run games in software mode by editing the preferences.xml file, works excellenty. Even sets up your pocket playstation with pretty icons.
Mame -
Jrioni Arcade - Bought off market. Works excellently. No save states.
Mame4Droid - Free off market. Works excellently. No save states.
Tiger Arcade - Free from his website. Works excellently, although analog controls do not work, so you cant play driving games etc. Save states for paid version, but these currently do not work.
All in all, if you want a portable emulator, this is the best thing on the market at the moment.

The back cover especially seems a bit cheap cause it's flimsy, but in reality the flexibility makes it less likely to crack. The build quality of the gamepad is definitely not cheap though.
Just remember that demo handsets are always abused and the one you buy will feel better.
