well um the nexus, the hd2 may have alot of different OS's to boot to, but that snapdragon processor is not going to perform well in the future

The HD2 is good as a plaything, if you want to try out different OS, but it doesn't match the function and usability of Nexus S.
The battery life is horrible, if you intend to use a HD2 at all then you'd better be resigned to spare or extended batteries. The processor isn't too bad, but still won't match the NS
All in all, it depends on your personal preference, whether you'd rather functionality or simply options.
I had a Hero and I bought a HD2 last summer and put android on it. The HD2 really lowered my respect for HTC. The devices screen was awful - it was really washed out compared to my Hero. Also, the digitizer was not accurate even after calibration within android. You could also see the digitizer touch sensors under the screen in normal daylight. The touch screen would also miss presses, like one press in ten wouldn't be registered by the device - extremely annoying when you are txting. Luckily I kept my Hero and got shut of the HD2, but it left me disappointed.
Anyway I saw the Nexus S deal over on hotukdeals and thought I'd give it a shot as £200 was the max I wanted to spend. Anyway I can safely say that I am a Sammy man from now on. The phone has really exceeded my expectations, especially running ICS.
It's a shame as I always had a soft spot for HTC with the Hero being my first smartphone. But it's sad to say that the nexus one/desire was probably the last great phone HTC have made for the Uk market.
Cheers.

+1, HTC >>>>>>>>>>>> LG
And what? You sure it isn't an iphone crap in that picture?
I hope so, and I like that image. No buttons, truly tablet convergence ice cream sandwich.
Hopefully the internals are something exciting like that N1 had for its time.
Going off my HTC experience the fewer buttons the better...
i prefer HTC/Moto
No trackball..... Trackball notification alerts are the best. Imagine an N1 with a 4" screen dual core, front camera, 4g and a trackball. That s my ideal N1 replacement.

i like the buttons but cheers to htc!
I've had the N1 now NS. And a Hero and EVO in between. While I love the build quality (feel) and the development for HTC devices, I had nothing but hardware problems with all of them. Both the T-Mo and Sprint versions of the NS have been flawless, so I'm kind of torn if I would upgrade to the N3...

i just hope it can be bought sim-lock free, so the rest of the world can enjoy it too!
Didn't Andy Rubin said that Nexus 3 will be launched this summer ?
was wanting to see it working with sony or motorola
I think for a prototype it looks awesome. I love htc and think it'll be great. It would be interesting though to see what lg comes up with...

hasn't the nexus series always been sim-lock free?
I wanna see lg and sony ericsson entries as well. I'm just a bit disappointed with htcs design for right now. No capacitive buttons are just fine. But please dammit, listen like you've listened on the boot loader. Put in the trackballs as they have never been a problem but a compliment.

What will u use your nexus s for when u upgrade
Better check your thread title again. Not very suggestive .
I'll probably hand it to over to my wife, or sell it. I'll see when I get to it.
I'd probably install a remedial spelling and grammar instructional tool on the Nexus S.
Why would you even keep it? I'll sell it. The wife has a GSII so she wouldn't want it.

Here is a better title:
"Got a Galaxy Nexus? What to do with old Nexus S?"
Or, if you wanted to fix your original:
"Once you get your galaxy nexus, what will you use your nexus s for?"
Not that hard...
Deciding what to do with your old phone is the least of your problems.

So I'm not the only one who thought of this. I have my old Nexus One in a cabinet and intentionally gave it a bad rom flash so it just replays the nexus boot animation forever. It's quite awesome to me and the S will join it when I get my galaxy nexus.

Long live the NX! This baby will never leave me it is too amazing to toss the Galaxy Nexus got nothing on it!
My opinion is greatly influenced by the fact that I cannot afford the Galaxy Nexus after just buying the Nexus S and denial. (I would totally ditch the NX for GN and keep the Nexus as a trophy on my wall for the "memories" we share).
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I got to play with a Galaxy Nexus for the first time a few days ago, and I have to say I think I prefer to keep my Nexus S. I don't really need dual-core power, and although the phone isn't strictly speaking too big for me, I found the form factor uncomfortable to hold. I'm also still not really sold on the software buttons; they have potential but they just seem clumsy at the moment.
Granted, the screen is gorgeous, I like the notification LED, and there are times I feel tempted to switch for the extra RAM alone, but all things considered I honestly believe the NS is a superior everyday device. In any case, for the price tag the GN would really have to wow me, and it just didn't.
If I were buying a new phone today and had the GN and NS side by side, I'd be torn. Since I already have the NS though, I just don't feel compelled to switch. Maybe once the price comes down a bit, the software goes through a couple upgrades and they release a nice big extended battery to fatten it up a bit in the palm.
I'll probably give my Nexus S to my cousin, who's rocking a blackberry at the moment.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Will hand it to my cousin bro. I am not one bit emotional with material stuff.
I sell it to my younger brother or keep it as a backup.
EDIT: I'm not gonna get the GNex, but I'll wait for the next Google phone. It probably has quad-core CPU or something. I just don't have enough money for it.

I'm gonna buy a new phone just for internet, apps and normal stuff i'm not intrested in gaming.
I have to chose between this 2 devices, but they seems very similar >_<
I don't like sense but there are a lot of custom rom,i just want a stable ICS rom but the camera on the nexus S really sucks
what should I buy? i'm talking about the i9023 version
As you stated, Desire has better camera and video is 720. Even so, I think Nexus S takes decent photos.
One thing I would recommend, is to check around on both forums (mostly on the development and Q/A). This way you can get a bigger picture and a grasp of known issues on both devices.
Not sure about Desire's forum, but Nexus S is one of the best here on XDA. Development is awesome and you would have a lot of options with ICS ROMs which are more than stable.
Nexus S every time.

If you want an awesome dev community, than Nexus s.
if you want a better camera, than Desire
I would compare them side to side if possible and decide that way (i.e. not on specs), the screens and body construction are very different.
Desire HD has a better clscreen
Sent from my Sexy Sexy Nexus S
i have both phones and i occasionally switch back and forth. The desire hd is nice because it has solid construction, a bigger screen (if thats what you want), better camera, and the extra ram on it is really nice to have. I prefer the nexus s however because its lighter, smaller, and with custom roms its much snappier than the desire hd.
HTC sense is beautiful, but I think Nexus S is better!
Advice
I have personally used both devices and here is my guidance
Desire HD vs Nexus S:
1. D HD as very good screen and fits anyone's palm very well... whereas NS is almost same but a bit slim... but both tie up because the resolution is almost same
(i9023 is indian version which has Super LCD instead of AMOLED) AMOLED Nexus S has complete pitch black where there is black, but LCD has little bit grey
2. D HD has a good camera and so does NS... but if u install latest version of ICS on D HD, video camera doesn't work... check Desire HD sections if u need further info... whereas Nexus S rocks...
3. Development for Desire HD is low compared to Nexus S... Means if Android 5.0 releases, Nexus S and Desire HD both may have chance to get it, but if 6.0 releases, HD has very low chances, very very
4. Desire HD has good built quality, but it had more mass and weight than NS, so the chance of breaking when dropped is more in D HD, whereas NS may survive with opened back and scraches
Final advice >
Go for Desire HD if u are not a tech person and will stick to stock (manufacturer provided OS) and enjoy the features
Go for Nexus S if tech is ur best time pass, new roms, new stuff to show to friends everyday... and if 5.0 releases Nexus S will surely gets it... Not sure about Desire HD... Nexus S may even get 6.0 - If u r a noob ignore this and go with desire hd
NOTE: TRY FOR NEXUS S I9020 NOT I9023, LCD HAS ISSUES
@Above I have an i9023 and i have no screen issues.

I'll go for a Nexus for these 2 major reasons:
1. Fully supported by Google and AOSP
2. The biggest community of all phones
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
If i remember correctly the desire hd has 768 mb of RAM which Is quite a determinative factor....

Cut it short.
If its Sense, Stock, Beats, with a crazy oc of 1.7ghz... Go ahead with Desire HD. WHICH IS SO HARD TO ROOT WITH THIS DEVICE.
or
You can go with the best performance with best devs, themes by best themers and best tweaks made by brainmaster, GO FOR THE NEXUS!
The easier to root device, easier to flash, easier to get 4.0.4 IMM76I fast.
Must remember, Nexus S is one of the best devices and the first to have a NFC Chip.... Which you can scan smartags...

Hey guys, I was a older nexus user and after getting many phones(I have a sensation) I'm getting a nexus again. I'm trading my senny for nexus S and a Samsung infuse 4g.
So why are you guys still with the nexus? Reasons?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Because I can't afford another phone. Lol. Well part of the reason. I actually enjoy the community support and see no other reasons to upgrade. My phone does what I need it to without any problems. My next phone will be a GNex, but I'll probably run this thing into the ground before then. At least I'll have saved up enough by then.

I quite like my nexus, but the main reason is, that there is nothing extraordinary about new phones.
My nexus can perform smoothly, any task i need to do( i don't play games).
I'll upgrade at the end of the year,
hopefully till then , they will be able to sort the battery life and use more efficiently front panel,
to fit screen.
I'll would love, to have bigger screen, although not at cost of carrying mini tablet in my pocket.
Because I am not a fool that constantly goes out and buys the latest and greatest phones for a big e-peen.

i do... abit for the Z
The Nexus 4 is the perfect phone for me, no doubt about it.
However, being the tech geek that I am there is no doubt in my mind I will grab the Nexus 5 about 6 months after it's released (I don't want to deal with launch-day drama and hardware issues which always seem to plague the initial Nexus releases)
I can say, however, that I will only be buying Nexus phones from now on since they have finally stepped up to the plate with decent hardware and specs. The Gnex was a massive disappointment to me, I sold it within four months of owning it.
Same for me. I had the one x for the last year but it has started giving me trouble by not recognizing the Sim card was in the slot.
I was torn between the nexus 4. HTC one and the galaxy s4.
After much deliberation I went with the nexus 4 and I'm so glad I did.
I owned the nexus one before so I am already accustomed to the nexus experience.
I honestly didn't expect the 4 to be so much better than the one x. Snappier. Better gaming performance and longer battery life.
I'm so glad I switched
