[Q] Can't boot in Clockwork Recovery - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi Guys,
Because i had some problems with the previous rom i decided to follow the advice and first install the Huawei Android 2.3 version. Now i've a major problem, i rooted the phone but when i wanted to install Clockwork Recovery through the app it only showed another Huawei Phone Type. I stupidly decided to choose this one and Now i cant boot into Clockwork Recovery. Reinstalling Clockwork doesnt help.

You should manually install CWM.
As described in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
Install ES explorer/Filexpert and Remount apps.
Go the paragraph "Installing ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 on your U8800" and follow the steps.
Enjoy

Rom manager doesn't see u8800 on some roms.

Cannot flash ClockworkMod recovery

I'm getting an error "An error occurred while flashing your recovery." when I try to apply ClockworkMod recovery 2.6.0.1. No problems applying AR 2.2.1 or CWM 3.0.0.5.
Any ideas?
Already tried factory restore (wipe) and 2 different ROMs.

the 2.6.0.1 is the current recovery. This one backs up your wimax keys.
I know 2.6.0.1 is current. That's why I want to flash it.

I'm assuming you are trying to flash through ROM Manager? Never worked for me either. I flashed mine through fastboot, you just need to find the .img for 2.6.0.1. A google search should help.
Just download rom manager from the market. You can flash it from there.

I'm pretty sure that's what he's doing when he encounters the error.

Yes, trying from manager and getting that error. Where can I find the IMG file? Right now I have CWM 3.0.0.5. Should I go back to 2.6.0.1?
Koush posted this last month explaining why this is an issue... it's gonna grow until others follow suit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897026
Thread has link to all CM issue
CM updated to 3.0xx yesterday and is not supporting older versions - you can still find them, just will lose support
i noticed this the other day but then yesterday i had to restore to stock (i made a back up right after i rooted so i can always go back to the beginning) and when i reinstalled rom manager from the market the older recoveries where on there and i got it flash back to 2.5.7.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I updated my Clockworkmod Recovery today and I am now unable to restore it to the 2.6.0.1 version I had been running. I've searched the forum and found numerous .zip files and .img files but they are either broken or I am not going through the flashing process correctly. I followed the directions posted alongside the files but still cannot fix this. Could anyone help?

[Q] Error while trying to boot into Recovery. HELP please! :(

My HTC HD2 won't boot into recovery it displays "ERROR: ERROR: Invalid boot image header"
Can't seem to solve it, help would be much appreciated...
Thanks
What exact Clockwork Mod Recovery did you flash to you're HD2? As there is two was of installing it and two ways of booting it.
I'm in the same problem, i upgraded ROM Manager from market and then reflashed recovery from rom manager, from which we can find HTC HD2 listed now, and when i entered recovery, same error appears: Invalid boot image header. Please help us. Before this upgrade, i have reflashed recovery using Desire HD listed with no problems at all.
Edit: i have to reflash selecting DESIRE HD and had to reflash the whole Hyperdroid GBX v12 build to fix it.
Yes, i have the same issure. After the upgrade to v4.0.0.6 from market and selection for recovery CwM for HD2 i was unable to boot in this partition.
I´ve tried to install all older versions 3.0.0.5 and 3.0.0.6 (new one is 3.0.2.5) but it seems, that the recovery system is now demaged.
Also the selection for recovery CwM Desire and Desire HD does not run

Try reflashing Recovery, i use 150M_recovery, then reflash your build. That should help. I think it's the only way to fix it, at least worked for me.

Yes, thats the problem...when i reflash with recovery_150M i lost my data, because this prepare a new partition layout.
If i do it, i have the CwM Recovery system, but no android anymore

Hi,
I had the same problem.I think the new ROM manager is currently only working with CLK.That's why it's screwing up our MAGLDR.
I'm going to try loading it back manually from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531.
I will report back.
(EDIT)
Yup ,it worked fine.
Used "magldr_recovery_3.0.2.5.zip" For MAGLDR 1.13, booting from NAND.
It updated to 3.0.2.5,then I restored a previous backup.
Everything back to normal.
Thanks malybru for this help
yes, that works fine, but i lost my data.
For the future... i have to make more backups before i update to a new version of CwM
Thorsten
(EDIT)
Nooooo....i have the same issure again.
After flashing the new recovery system and backup, i´ve installed the CwM Update from market.
The same again...
i think its an issure of CwM :-(

It's ok to go to market and type ROM manager and update it.
However,do not use the program if you have MAGLDR,because it will not work, yet.
At the moment ,it will only work if you have CLK installed.
Solved my issue.
I thank you all for your efforts, much appreciated!
A few hours after panicking i just reflashed the 400MB system partition and everything was totaly fine.
Since a day I'm running MIUI 2.3 and it is really something

Member zach.anger did a good job in that post instructing on the proper ADB commands to type in. But Icwas pointed to a very good guide by senior member arif-ali, who is one of the main developers that worked and is still working with cedesmith to get cLK perfected, which it is pretty much close to that now. Anyway he directed me to senior member stirkac's really good guide. You can find it at the link below. Thought I would share it with everyone as it is kinda barrier in the cLK thread.

The same exact thing happened to me with both of my HD2s, I quickly figured that there is an issue. So the solution was to to ref lash everything and reload a previous backup.
Go here and follow each one accordingly for MAGLDR or cLK:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
Clean Install MAGLDR:
1. Task 29
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. MAGLDR 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5)
5. Install TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 .zip with CWM
Clean Install cLK:
Follow Charmacas's tutorial

Cant install recovery image?

So ive spent hours trying to install custom ROM but when i install a recovery image using recovery manager, it says recovery unrecognized. Can anyone please help?
I have gen 1 zte blade and want to install swedish spring. I need latest recovery image and recovery manger please.
1 which version of your installed recovery? old version, especially older than 3.0, may get incompatible with your image file. you can install the app ROM Manager, and from which to reinstall the latest version of Clockworkmod Recovery. of course, root is required.
2 you've verified MD5 of downloaded image file? plz do verify and confirm its match. corrupted file may fail to flash, or even brick your phone.
3 plz give more detailed info if keeping install failed .

Try to boot into the recovery, it should work.
Ive tried both
RecoveryManager_v0.36b
RecoveryManager_v0.37b
and i am using the image file
recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.8-blade-gen1
Most of the time the recovery manager app would not open so i have to uninstall it and re install it, or even factory reset phone and wipe sd card for it to work, and it never recognizes the image file.

CWM not installing ROMS....

So every time i try installing a Custom ROM on the X5 U8800 in CWM, it tells me Installation aborted. I rooted it, i flashed CWM, but when i want to flash a ROM, it gives me the "Installation Aborted" error. I dont know what to do to be honest. Huawei is so retarded some times. Samsung is so much easier No offence of course. So if someone please could help me with that, and if they had the same problem, and how they fixed it, it would be very appreciated. Oh and also, as notice, i managed once to install one ROM. But that had an Battery Issue, so it turned off 20sec after Bootup. So i really need help. Thanks in advance. -Yanniclord (BTW: I try currently installing MIUI. And i also tried different Recoverys, but only CWM works. TWRP isnt booting up, and the download link for the Touch Recovery CWM is deleted. So i currently only got CWM Please help.)

Use this to update the recovery then reboot, enter again in bootmenu -> recovery and flash what you want.

Thanks, but how exactly can I update the Clockworkmod recovery with that file? It's not a update.zip and not a app either.
Install as you instal a Rom in CWM recovery.
Note: the recovery will change to TWRP.
