[Q]Backups - Kindle Fire General

Today I flashed cm9 after backing up cm7.
After I was done playing around with ics, I restored the cm7 backup.
Much to my horror it wouldn't boot beyond fff. It just hung at the boot animation screen with a black screen.
Thankfully though, I had made a stock rom backup that was functional and working.
Is there anything I can do to recover the cm7 backup and make it work again?

So I tried reinstalling the kernel update zip, and then it booted into the boot animation, but halfway through it it hanged. Tried again with same result ):

Need Help

I tried installing a new ROM and kernal on my continuum using the CWM and now when I start up my phone the whole screen is just a bunch of random colors I did a backup and restore and now its starts up in the discolored screen then a voice says restore and the phone restarts PLEASE HELP
which rom and kernel?
rom dl17 clean
kernel pbJ
I think I forgot to reboot and installed them both before rebooting i can still get into cvm and tried my restore but still have same issue except now it just constantly has a womans voice saying restore and the phone restarts
You need to install another kernel.... Install Adryn's kernel through cwm... You can easily find it in development... You flashed a voodoo kernel without knowing what you were getting your self into and how to fix it if it went wrong, *tisk tisk*
If you need more help, just ask

ok i figured out how to get this kernel installed but now it just sits at the SAMSUNG white startup screen what do I do now?
ok now I tried this
If that doesn't work, which is probably won't, then reflash the stock recovery, then try the cwm v4 adryn recovery, then try the stock kernel, and then the system image, all in Odin... In that order
and its starts up like it used to and gets stuck at the Verizon Wireless screen?
You can do your backup now...

Helpful fella, that guy.
Hey guys, so I flashed the novoodoo kernel last night and when I rebooted it put me into a boot loop, I tried to restore my back-up and it said it failed to unmount /system I did a factory reset and it took care of the loop and my phone is fine now with novoodoo installed but I can't find out why I can't restore my back-ups... and I'm using the yellow clockwork for back-up and restore
Honestly i've been doing a crap ton of research on all this since I got my phone back in January and I really feel like I'm missing something small and obvious

Before i yell at you, let me make sure....
Are you using the Yellow CWM or the Blue CWM?
Just yellow... it's the only one I've used
Sent from my Continuum Transfunctioner
Ah, alright... well, yellow isn't that good at restoring... try blue! Lol

xP of course! Shame on me for not doing a backup in both blue and yellow... but after the factory reset my sns feeds on the ticker actually worked for once... for like ten minutes...

Lol, I know what you mean brother man I would stop messing with it though, because we are getting the 2.2 update soon xD which should hopefully fix it!

Nandroid backups not working?????

Last night (after a few drinks) I got playing in kernel manager and decided to flash a dal oc kernel I haven't used in a while. After its done flashing it puts me in a bootloop so I go to recovery (I always nandroid before I do ANYTHING) and go to my most recent back up, only it brings me to the "welcome to the nexxus s press here to get started" (I did the build.prop for Netflix). Any backup I go to its like I've done a full wipe and I'm starting from scratch with my new nexxus s. But here's the kicker.... my NC has NEVER been faster. This thing is lightning quick, no lag, no glitches, just the most responsive its ever been. I'm running cm7 nl 101, stock kernel and obviously nexxus s build.prop. Any ideas why none of my back ups work? And why the drastic change in responsiveness to my NC? I'm happy with the way its running but I put a lot of work into my setups and of course plants vs zombies lol.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

[Solved]Miui made backups not work

I was stock 6.2.1 rooted, installed twrp and made backup. Flashed cm7 got it running, made backup, went back to kindle rom. Flashed miui same way as cm7, got it running, although my purchased amazon apps wanted me to repurchase. Made backup, tried to restore to kindle, stuck in miui now. What do I do now? My backups are still showing, just wont restore.

EDIT: I had changed the name of my backups so I would know which backup was which. If you do this, make sure to keep the date first then whatever you want after. Fixed that and back to kindle os.
It won't let you restore in TWRP?

Nope, tried multiple times. Just goes back to miui. Even tried to reflash cm7 and try restoreing from there. No go. Like the miui disabled those backups.

[Q] Blade hangs on boot, but can get CWM

Ive got a fairly new (old stock!) Blade that I have flashed using Swedish Snow RLS7 which has been working fine...no problems.
This week I turned the phone on and it gets as far as the Android boot screen (green robot, but NOT as far as the boot animation) and then reboots.
I *can* get in to Clockwork and have tried wiping all settings and reflashing the ROM. These processes all complete successfully, but the phone still does the same reboot cycle.
Any ideas what the problem might be here?
thanks
mike
Have you tried reflashing the recovery?

Thanks for the reply. I reflashed to the latest recovery and tried a different ROM. Unfortunately I get the same problem.....green Android boot logo which appears for about 20s, distortion/flickering at the end of this period and then a reboot. Recovery works fine.
I'm wondering if this is somehow graphics related......
I don't really think that it's graphic-related. I've had very similiar problem with my Blade, fixed it with this.
