root a 4.0.2.A.0.62 - Xperia Arc General

Hello and if I change from soft orange to 4.0.2.A.0.42 4.0.2.A.0.62
not spoil the battery?

not sure what u mean, you want to change the rom of your device is that it? for that you need to unlock the bootloader and acess the root of ur mobile. Then install the rom u want. There are some roms that provide some tweaks to the battery while others drain more quickly than custom roms... you have to check it out for yourself.

only change rom to unlock bootloader?

look check this thread and you'll find your awnsers!

Does the official W8 ROM need a specific baseband or anything?

I want to install the W8 ROM on my X8. At the moment the phone is completely stock. Do I need to install a certain baseband firmware for it to work, or do I just go through the normal rooting and flashing process?
First time flashing this specific phone and I don't wanna screw it up!
Thanks

[Q] Can't install JIT so sad

guys i really need help about my phone
Mobile number: SO-10B
Baseband 2.0.52 (i forgot sorry) im currently stock in se logo
everytime i root using flashtool 0.2.0.8 and install bussybox and xrecovery then flash JIT i always stock on SE logo even i try many times. im so sad this phone if i didn't install JIT. what wrong my device? it will need a right tool for rooting? everytime i root always they have a red message like didn't expect need to ro.build.prop ect. guys anyone here using my same device NTT docomo S0-10B from japan please tell me the right the right step
Maybe try flashing to a global generic firmware then install JIT? I'm not sure whether the JIT mod would work on the Japanese firmware.

i dont want to flash im afraid what causing my phone aside in stock in SE LOGO any suggestion?
EDIT: if i flash this using other firwmware what firmware should i choose? and even im on other firmware im able to updgrade to 2.3 this coming update form sony?
please anyone? or some help from pinoy, pilipino here.
When you install or add new tweaks to the phone.. first you should make a nand backup of the Rom. did you install the Xrecovery? because there are 2 .ZIP which allows you to install or remove the JIT. try to find thoose zip and remove to see if it works. and remember to always make a backup to prevent to flash the device again and loose everything
yes i install xrecovery the latest one. i do some search but i dont if this true JIT is not compatible with mobile number SO-10B is this true?
DO NOT install JiT if its already installed, it will break your FW and you will need to reflash. Flash global generic and try again. Only try and install one time, the only way you'll know its installed is by benchmark score improvements.

Definitely global generic 2.1.A.0.435. It is newer and has dualtouch, and you will be certain to get the official 2.3.3 Gingerbread update directly from PC Companion or SEUS when available.
On Japanese fw jit cant work correctly.
If you wanna use jit on Japanese fw,you must use goro's.
Search with google in Japanese.
Then you'll find it soon

no jit in japan?? bruutal
thank you all for reply and information this will help me a lot thanks again.
If your gonna flash new FW and root you might as well install a custom ROM. All custom ROMs have JiT enabled so if you go custom DO NOT, under any circumstance, try and install JiT.

Advice on rooting S4?

Hi there, I currently own an S4 GT-i9505 locked on the EE network (United Kingdom).
I want to root the phone so I can move apps to SD and also install emulators and such. I've also read about flashing the official UK BTU rom..
So I have a few things I'm not too sure about.
Do I need to root the phone to flash the BTU rom? How will it affect my device? What's the easiest way to root for a locked device, as the way I've seen say that you need a factory unlocked device? Sorry for all these questions, I'm just getting confused haha...
And if I root the phone, will I still get OTA updates? I know that it'll probably remove root but can I install them without bricking my phone?
Please help  Thanks

Help with the first flash

Hey guys, my warranty is nearly finished, so i want to start flashing.
I come from a Nexus device so things are a little bit complicated here.
So what i must do in order to flash a custom rom? Unlock the bootloader ? My device is already rooted.
I'm on Marshmallow BTU 6.0.1.

U simply need to select suitable custom rom for your device as per your mobile specifications like mine is Samsung Galaxy S5 g900f. U need to check your mobile for its full name (most imp is g900f part). When u r confirm on which device u have, now u can select the custom rom for that specific device type only. After u download a rom, u need gapps as well whose link is normally provided by the developers alongwith their roms. After u get both, keep them on ur external sd card.
As u said ur mobile is already rooted, hence u must be having custom recovery as well instead of stock recovery. U need to restart your phone in recovery where u can install your custom rom.
Hope that answer your question.
