[Q] How to safely remove data2sys rom? - GT540 Optimus General

I want to install SDSL V1.1 but i have Quarks Black 2.1 rom with data2sys setup & Clockwork Recovery v2.5.1.8.
How should I deal with data2sys rom as I also want to resize system partition to 170 mb? Can i just flash over old data2sys rom or I shoul do something before that?

O_O this i dont know i never messed with kdz. only did to get fastboot. My guess would be to flash to old euoprean open again?? WELL DONT TRY MIGHT BRICK!!:/

[Q] Help with ROM Problems and question about sd card

Ok here is my situation: my phone is rooted and the rom installed is CM alpha build 51. somewhere along the line i think i messed up something and now im unable to backup the current rom w/ CWM to flash a new build/rom etc. when i try to backup current rom is restarts into recovery and when i try to backup there it says that its unable to mount system. Clockwork Mod version 3.0.0.7 but in recovery mode it says 2.5.1.2 and when i try to flash a later version it just stays on 2.5.1.2. anyways
Q1. Anyone have a solution for this ?
if not
Q2. should i flash back to my original recovery and flash up again ?
Q3. What can i remove from the sd card ? its getting kinda full. can i completely wipe it ? I want to completely wipe it and flash CM7.
You need to use clockwork 3 to backup any version of cm7. You need to fastboot flash that recovery back on, then make backup, then flash 2.5.1.2, then restore 2.2 rom.
2.2 roms = CWM 2.5.x
2.3 roms = CWM 3.x

[Q] Can i back to 2.1??

Hai,, i'm using 2.3 swiftdroid nw
i wanna try other roms, like the 2.1 or 2.2 roms,, or the joestone clean 2.3 one
but the matter is, can i just install it without a fastboot but using a recovery method from 2.3 to 2.1?? so my data will be save, n i don't need to do a back up

no, i said with recovery method, can i install it just using the recovery method to from a rom to the other rom
like swiftdroid to joestone clean android
install what ever rom you want to and the boot into recovery select backup/restore, advanced then restore the data.img from your swiftdroid backup that might work

Can't install a rom

Hey,
I did everyting I s-offed I did the clockworkmod recovery thing also I made a backup but I can't install a custum rom it keeps saying.
Installing update and nothing happens?
I wiped all date etc.
Please help me
If u r trying to install gingerbread rom (2.3) then u need a clockworkmod recovery 3.x and + to do that.
And if u r trying to install froyo or lower (2.2 or lower), then u need a clockworkmod recovery 2.x to do that . I think this is what u r facing. If so, then open rom manager and flash 2.5.0.7 recovery. This creates a file called "update.zip" on root of memory card. Now go to custom recovery and first flash the update.zip which gives u clockworkmod 2.x temporarily on the fly. Now u can start the installation of 2.2 or lower roms.
Hope it helps

The only possibility then might be the rom file might have gone bad. (AFAIK).
If so downloading a fresh one might help. Although i can't say anything sure.

[Q] After install MIUI I can not install Sense

Hy guys, I need a little help, I instal NTD MIUI Rom and used for a month, but I desided to come back to Sense Roms,But unfortunaly I cant instal any sense rom.If someone had this plroblem and know how to fix it please help me.... Thanks in advance
You need to flash a bigger CWM partition. You may have flashed a 150mb one to use MIUI, but if you're flashing via CWM try a 350mb partition first, then try to flash you Sense ROM.

Going to try Thanks
You obviously haven't read the instructions properly.
Every rom explains what partition to use or supplies a file to do it for you.

instal custom rom problem..

I've tried all types of flashing and so, yet I get same black screen after rebooting my phone
not sure if any of my files are wrong, yet I don't think so
I've tried all I can think of, all custom roms and stuff, but no result
I can get to root my phone, install bootstraper then bootmenu, wiped all data and cache but while installing the mod, it loads the installation and after last reboot I get a blank screen with no options to get back in bootmenu or recovery
it's rather my fault or not, but I can't install it, not even with your fast help from post above
any tips left?

What stock do you have? froyo or gingerbread one? and what rom do you want install?
Because if you have Gingerbread base you cannot install miui or cm for froyo kernel..
but you have a Cm gb kernel based..

There's a sbf-fix for that issue on the CM7 thread, for GB kernel you need to apply update.zip, wipe data/cache/dalvik, reboot and you get a blank screen, then you flash the sbf-fix via RSDLite and now you can boot
You can also try CM9 which is based on European GB
wow it works, thank you all for all :X
