I decided to try out the Google Voice integration with Sprint. I used the option to use my Sprint number as the primary and only number. So my sprint number and GV number were the same.
Everything was working good for a few days, when i realized that i really hated the way the Google Voice app handled voicemail. So, i found an apk and titanium backup for Sprints VVM that someone on these forums posted. I installed it, it configured itself, but it wouldnt work (which i was expecting as GV was now handling all my voicemail. i just wanted to try it out). I uninstalled it and thought nothing of it.
About an hour later my primary number stopped working. I couldnt place or receive any calls, and i couldnt txt.
Took about an hour for Sprints tech support to get everything fixed. Super lame.
So, if using your sprint number as your google voice number: DONT MESS WITH SPRINTS VVM! It will messsssssss you up! lol
I had this happen to me BEFORE I started messing with VVM. It's a GV issue altogether and not something VVM does, don't let them tell you any different because it's just not true. I've since completely deintegrated my Sprint number from GV and logged out of the app for good and the problem went away immediately.
I didn't do this, but sprint needs to learn abouts the nexus and gv. My phone completely stopped taking inclmjbg calls yesterday until I unintegrated and just used it as a forwarding phone

I was having serious issues yesterday as well; could not receive calls or texts ("We could not complete your call, please try again.") and received the same thing on outgoing calls. after unintegrating GV would not call my phone to verify the number so I could not reintegrate it, and I still couldn't call anyone. This was happening up until about 3 hours ago, now my calls will go through with my Sprint number but it seems like my texts are still not working...

I deintegrated as well. I really like the idea of GV, and thought alot of the features where super neat. But obviously there is still stuff to work out.
after a day of not being able to make or recieve calls, i've deintegrated it as well. i'm sure i must've did something in the settings for that to happen, but integrated gvoice it just too confusing atm. besides, i like getting texts via stock app, and if that means i have to get dual notifications, then forget it.
but sprint/gvoice integration is still new, so im open to future development.
So it sounds like the problem was more widespread than my. Individual phone. I got errors when calling out and errors if someone tried to call my sprint number, now as a forwarding phone j get dual notifications as well. Anybody know if it is cleared up by now? Voice was why I switched to sprint in part

same thing happened to me last night. all of a sudden couldnt make or receive calls. spent a hour and a half with sprint, couldnt get it working. But when I went to the website to remove google voice integration it said it wasnt. I called Sprint back and sure enough the rep said that it was still there so she removed it and immediately i was able to make and receive calls. so the problem is with the google voice integration.
Anybody get service back without unintegrating

I have a NS4G, and I seem to be missing a lot of incoming calls. The phone doesn't ring/vibrate at all, and shows no indication of a call or a missed call. The only way I know somebody tried to call is I end up with voicemails, or people tell me that they tried calling and didn't get through.
This seems to happen even when I have a decent signal and when I can make outgoing calls just fine and even send/receive text messages. I don't think it's simply a coverage issue, because the phone is never really searching for a signal.
This has happened for certain on CM7 and Deck. I'm not sure about the stock ROM. In fact, I'm thinking of reverting back to stock just to test. If it does happen on stock, then I'm wondering if it's just something physically bad with the phone.
I have also updated my profile and PRL.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar? I don't seem to drop calls or have sporadic signal strength or anything like that.
Yes, i've noticed the same thing. Do you have a google voice integrated account? I'm wondering if that might be the common factor.
I've had to go and make sure that the GV app logs missed calls in case this happens.

Good point, I haven't noticed this since I updated the radio and to 2.3.5 stock, so it might have been fixed. I'll keep an eye out if it continues.
I am on the new radio. In fact, I seem to have the problem on both radios.
I am on Google Voice, by the way, and I have my cell number forward to my GV number for missed calls.
The odd thing is I don't seem to always get a missed-call notification; only one for voicemail. Then, in logging on to my GV account in the browser, it doesn't show a missed call. However, when it is working properly, and I dial my cell from a different phone, if I ignore it then I DO get a missed-call notification.
One other possible factor is I'm using an Airave at home, which is where I've noticed the problem most of the time. I'm not positive if I have experienced it outside of the home. I'll have to pay better attention.

I bet it is google voice... I really hate how it takes over my sms too.. I use it for voicemail and that's it.

I'm thinking it probably is GV too, but I wouldn't want to give up my SMS'ing from chrome extension.
You can turn it off so it doesn't take over SMS if you want and just lets you use the stock app all the time.
I don't have GV using SMS right now. Perhaps I'll disable the forwarding temporarily to see if that solves it.

If your on the new radio and using an airave you may miss calls if not connected to wifi. Im having that problem on the new radio. Ill have full bars but if i call my phone it goes straight to voicemail with no notification at all.

It happens when I'm on wifi too, unfortunately.
I was about to just disable GV, but then realized the NS4G doesn't get the regular Sprint Visual Voicemail app! Now what do I do??

You can use google voice for only voicemail. I have that setup and it works great. it even transcribes the voicemails to text
Unfortunately, I'm missing some calls using that setup. :-(
tmobile nexus s with gv deactivated
I have a T-Mobile nexus s on 2.3.4 stock, I'm missing a lot of calls and so is my wife, I've deactivated TV but it didn't change anything
Wondering if anybody else out there is encountering this! Trying to figure out whether or not it's a hardware issue.
I have ns4g and a use GV and when somebody calls my number, GV rings my nexus and my other phone with verizon, so I can say that the problem is not GV, most of the times only rings my other phone and the nexus nothing, the problem is the phone with a very weak radios, wifi/3g, and the poor service of sprint and is getting worst and worst.
Im having same problem on T-Mobile Nexus S but only when I'm on 3G .

I've had this happen to me on the Stock rom, and Deck, and I don't use GV at all for anything. Happens when the phone is sleeping usually, if it's lit up, the call won't get missed. I've really not spent the time to research it as I don't use the phone much anyway.
I also noticed problems with incoming and outgoing texts being either delayed or not sent at all. I rigged up a little test.
I scheduled a text message to be sent to my phone every minute with the current time in the message. Then I would just keep an eye/ear out on my phone while it sat on my desk. For the majority of the time, I would get the alert every minute, but sometimes there would be nothing for five or more minutes. After this outage, it seemed like all of the incoming messages would be delivered at once.
During that outage, though, it seemed like that was when the phone calls had trouble getting through. I guess it makes sense that there would be a connection between the two.
I had the same problem. I even had people tell me that they got a recording saying the call couldn't be completed. I was even testing the other day and no calls I made to the phone were connection, going straight to voice mail.
I decided to disable google voice and my issues went away, as well as all the delayed SMS and failed sending SMS problems I was having.
So i did a search and couldnt find a similar issue.
I can text my friend, call him, and he can call me, I cant receive his texts however. It started 2 nights ago out of the blue. The day before i could still get his texts now nada. Im on CM7 RC-0 but i dont think that matters because even if i try sending a text via google voice on a laptop he still doesnt recieve it. Anyone with any Ideas? Oh btw hes the only person who is like this to me well at least to my Knowledge.

These seem to be contradicting each other. It sounds like your issue is your not able to get his texts, right? If that's the case are you using any third part text apps, like GoSMS or Handcent? Is he? What kind of phone is he using? When did you first flash CM7 RC0? I think that only became available last night, so it sounds like the issue started before you flashed over to RC0.
yeah, I'm sorry I meant to say that even when I got into my Google Voice I cant see the messages he has sent.
I used to use Handcent sms and i just flashed the RC today AFTER the issue happened 2 days ago. I figured I might as well wipe the phone so i did and then updated to cm7 RC-0. Currently, I'm not using any 3rd party apps for messaging but before I used Hand-cent sms. In fact my phone is completely devoid of any Apps atm because i just wiped data, cache and Dalvik.
He is currently using a Droid X On Cm7 and I think he uses handcent as well. So he is on verizon.
Basically the event went down like this. The night before he and i had a talk via text, i received all the messages from his phone from that day then when i woke up the next morning he had texted me but I didn't get it. Later he and i chatted online and he asked if i had received the message earlier and I said no and asked him to resend it. He did and i still didnt see anything, so i sent a test message to him which he was able to get and then he sent a message back to me etc. We sent messages back and forth for about an hour. I tried to send a message via Google Voice on the computer and he received it but my log on Google voice did not update for even the message i had sent. I just deactivated my google voice account thinking i might be somethnig to do with that, but i still am not receiving his texts. I also called sprint and they did basically everything they could think of and still no messages.
Just a thought but do you have any numbers blocked on sprint dot com (they allow certain text senders and numbers to be blocked from msging or calling on you account settings)? Reason I ask is that I don't fully trust sprint's system for this. When I blocked one number for instance from calling it completely disabled my roaming calls from going through and I had to reverse it. Even though I've successfully used it to block texts I wonder if it could cause issues for someone else.
Just puttin in my 2 cents but I had this happen to me a while back and it was foor my boss... I could send em to him and everything u say u can do but it just had to pan itself out. Hell sprint even gave me a new phone just to try and it never did... then one day it just started workin again and hasn't messed up since... it rly has nothing to do with thr roms or anything... just sprints horrible service and they don't even kno wat causes it. So hopefully it will pan out

My brother is having the same problem between his & his wife's phones and they're stock. It's a Sprint problem - they told him a car knocked down a tower in their neighborhood.

hello everyone, im having some weird problems.... let me start off by saying that i bricked my phone(full brick tried everything wouldn't go into dl mode) a couple weeks ago and sent it in to have it fixed. well i got it back but now i cant text or call but i can use data(i found that odd) so i odined EL30, checked my settings, plugged my phone in and used QPST to check everything was right in the cdma, cdma-2 tabs and everything still matches up with my doner incognito... i dont get it.
list of everything ive tried
- Double-Triple-Quadruple check everything in qpst matches(i even had old backup's i made and text/voice still wouldn't work)
- delete and restore apns(unrelated i think but i still tried)
- update profile+prl
- check qpst again, just to be sure
- reboot
- factory data reset
idk guys...maybe im missing something simple? HELP
EDIT: update, idk what happened but my phone JUST got some texts that my friends told me they sent around 9 hours ago. sadly it didnt magically fix itself and i still cant send messages or make calls(and i presumably cant receive messages at least not in a timely fashion). if this gives any incite on the problem figured id let you all know. also data still works

Out of curiosity, what area do you live in? I'm in the West burbs of Chicago, and both my wife and I were having issues with calls and texts yesterday evening. Havne't noticed anything so far this morning, but it could be a Sprint problem, not a You problem.

Call Boost, tell them the issue (leave out the programming, be simple and say you can't call or text) what they'll do is reset your line, and if the rep is too stupid or hasn't done that before, suggest it.

Got my phone from Sprint, activated it Monday and I keep getting repeat texts. I've called them and had my network settings reset on their end, I've reset the network settings on my phone, updated profile and profile, rebooted phone, everything I can think of. I'm still getting texts, from multiple people/security codes.
Is there anything else I can do?
I am having a similar issue. Yesterday I wondered why my phone appeared to be a bit on the quiet side. Turns out I can send text out just fine, but receiving them has proven a problem...
I was able to get an MMS message from one person, and then a repeat SMS message sent before that MMS on their end, again, again, and again, (At least 30 times so far) every 5 minutes or so until about mid last night...
Today I tried to do a full reprovision which doesn't seem to have done much. I got that same text once again, and the one after it, but I am still not getting anything after that from them, or anyone else who may or may not have texted me....
Not good and I can't figure out if it's a Sprint or Phone issue. :/
I'll like to add on to this, I have experienced the same issue.
I'm on Sprint as well.
There was two days I didn't get any replies from texts I sent out, then when one of them called me all their texts all came in at once, those messages had the times for when they was originally sent.
Even the girlfriend is telling me to return the phone now.
In the past when I've had similar issues I usually texted myself to see if it would send. So on the last day I was having issues I did that, I got back my message, so I'm like okay it works. Then 5 minutes later I got the message again.
Sounds like some quirkiness of the phone working with Sprint's network. The only people I have heard have this issue are Sprint users. I'm on T-Mobile myself and everything works. I did however have to manually correct my APN settings in order to send/receive MMS with WiFi Calling enabled. Have you confirmed your APN settings are correct?

I think you are right. I didn't necessarily had this issue with every phone but it did happen with Moto X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and now with Essential phone.
I've never had this issue before on any device on Sprint, and have had Sprint for a long time. Moto photon, HTC one a9, and now this. My wife has had Galaxy S5, note 3, s7, so with no issues
I have the complete opposite problem. I don't get texts for 1 to 2 hours after some one sends it. And I also don't get voicemail notifications. I don't know if I'm just missing something or what.
So, no ideas on how to fix? I've been on chat with Sprint 2x but didn't have time to finish the process. It takes 2+hours

The fix for it is pretty ridiculous but it seems to work:
Simply call someone and have it connect. For some reason this gets it to connect properly to the network. I'd guess it is a provisioning issue but who knows.
(Now if I can only get mobile data to work on all sites and not sporadically)
done that and its temporary, as soon as i get another text they all come in a flood

Guess it was Google voice that was causing the issue. Need to find a new voicemail app

Do the online chat, that's where I had the best success. The people in store were 0 help.
Are you using Google voice? Try factory resetting and not using that app
No I'm not using it I did the tech support app they are the ones who sent me to the store
There are two fixes to this:
1. As mentioned previously you can place and connect a random call. The negative is that you need to redo it periodically per need.
2. Change your cellular network to not include LTE (CDMA/EvDo auto or the like) settings-->wireless & networks-->cellular networks
Method 2 also fixes some other cell data issues such as not being able to open certain sites.
The negative is very slow data speed <5Mbps since you are using 3G which is an older wireless standard.
A quick way to see if things are working is to do a speedtest, if there is no upload speed (quick bounce then zero) then something is wrong.
It appears to be a communication/handoff issue and not hardware related so I'd expect a fix to this reasonably soon.
