Unable to install xap files!

I have recently formatted my laptop and re-installed everything from scratch. I now am unable to install xap files to my phone. every error i get seems to be something related to the connection or not detecting the phone. I have tried Toms xap installer and winco wxap assistant and neither work. I have zune 4.8 installed, as well as the windows phone 7 sdk and the windows phone 7 developer tools. I have the HTC HD2 running xboxmod/yuki mango rom, which has been updated to wp7.1. zune detects the phone and i am able to sync through zune, so i know that the device is installed and working correctly. I am thinking there may be an error in my install of either the wp7 sdk or the wp7 dev tools, but i am not sure how to check this.
The laptop has been updated from 2gb ram to 4gb, so i now have windows 7 professional 64 bit (i did have windows 7 pro 32bit before). hopefully one of the good people on xda will know how to fix this problem!

before i buy the key and install windows 8, i want to know if the drivers that came with the PC will get transferred to windows 8 or am i going to have to re install them again? i had driver issues with a clean install with the dev, release preview and rtm. they didnt install and i had to stick with the default windows ones which nerfs my PC to the max. i have a Dell Inspiron One 2305 with the AMD drivers and stuff. so i want to know if all the drivers will be transfered over before i buy windows 8 and upgrade it.

The rtm build is exactly the same as the final version that you'll be buying so it's possible that you'll have problems, but if the Dell came with Windows 7 you shouldn't have trouble with Drivers apart for certain Printers, which I've found out today.
As when I came to install my Canon Pixima MP140 Windows insists that the Windows 8 driver downloaded from Canon isn't compatible with Windows 8.

How long ago did you do the rtm install? Though you may need new drivers its worth a note that amd normally update there drivers monthly. When RTM came out for instance it was a real pain to get catalyst to install and you had to install the driver with device manager then install catalyst after etc but now they have full windows 8 support.
I don't have the link to hand but ms do have a tool that you can use that will check your system for compatibility.
And they did quite a large update about 2 weeks ago that addressed driver compatibility issues I cant say if this will address your specific issues but I know its made a huge diff to some.

I installed it when it came out and I still have a partition with windows 8 for testing purposes. I can't find the drivers for it for some reason though, only the windows 7 64 bit drivers are shown in the list and not win8 that's what is keeping me from upgrading

i installed windows 8 and everything from windows 7 got transferd to windows 8 including drivers,apps,..ext

before u start u have this upgrade assistant. he will tell u about drivers. what will go what wont and what u will need to re install.

it said i have to reinstall them but the thing is that i looked for the windows 8 drivers and i found nothing for my device, it just gives me drivers for newer cards and old win 7 ones

when you upgrade to windows 8 it will ask you if you want to keep everything including drivers,apps,ext.

Can't sync my Omnia 7 (custom ROM) with Windows 8

Hi, I can't sync my Omnia 7 with my new Windows 8 laptop.
I downloaded Windows Phone app (Zune replacement), its promting me to connect my phone to see whats on it, but it can't see it. I tried installing Samsung mobile usb driver (i8700_samsung_mobile_usb_driver_v5.2__v1.2.1050.0) but it isnt working.
On my phone I got this custom ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571068
OS version: 7.10.8588.169
In Windows 8 Device Manager is my phone detected as Windows Phone USB Device, so its connected at least at some way.

isn't the Windows 8 Device Manager only for wp8?
anyway i suggest you to try zune (you can install it on w8 NON RT, instead if you are running w8rt... i don't know)

Windows Phone app is only for WP8 and Zune IS working on Windows 8? I lived in a lie. Thank you it should solve it I think.

But i have no way,because this place very familiar to me.
I wanted to started sgy developing.
But at my windows 8 based laptop ,i faced some problem!
Its windows 8 pro with media centre.
When I Buy laptop In windows Store always show Windows 8.1 update avalivable.
for this i need to some update in driver or other thing like 1.5 gb
bt when i complete all update ,from windows store windows 8.1 update vanish.
I searched about this problem,bt now windows say it has nt edition they dnt sure automatic update!
So,now i how to update automatically.
and why they show me update 1st time.

If you had Windows 8, is there a update in Store "Windows 8.1" I have 1, 2 GB ( x32) and 1,5 (X64) its normal OS update. What error you got ? And what Windows 8 version do you use ?

What windows r u using now ? I use windows 8 but there's no auto update

to upgrade windows 8 to 8.1 you will need to first download all updates for windows 8 - This could be up to 3gb worth of updates which can be downloaded from the windows update and recovery section in pc settings
once all updates have been installed and the computer restarted to finish installation process you can then update windows 8.1 from the windows store
if it does not show either you havent installed the required updates or theres some other problem
Please note the following windows 8 do NOT support upgrade

[Issue] Anybody else having trouble running flashtool?!

I installed the latest version of flashtool from flashtool.net and replaced x10flasher with the latest one and installed drivers successfully but when I try to run the softeware, working icon comes up next to mouse pointer for a few seconds and then nothing!
it wont run!
Im running windows 10 64bit and neither of the .exe files run
also which drivers are supposed to be for X compact?!

Flashtool driver install package also didn't work in my Windows 10 x64. You can install driver for XC from Sony.

Have you tried the Sony drivers? I am a newbie to using flashtool and after I read that Win8 and 10 need some special permissions, I installed it on my old computer running Win7. Worked like a charm. So if you have an old Win7 machine lying around, why not use that for flashing.

Yes I know about windows 10 driver signature verification, I already disabled it and installed drivers successfully, but the app itself wont run up!
