Q will we get jelly been - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

as above will we get jellybean on hd2 from devs

Possibly
Well that's hard to say, I mean we do not even have ICS fully working yet. There are HW acceleration issues that may continue into JB as well.

How can you ask if we are getting a version of android that is not released yet?

Still an undeniably stupid question, Jelly Bean hasn't been released yet and we know nothing about it so there isn't any way of telling.

[Q] Honeycomb on Hero?

can anybody port the 3.0 honeycomb version to our beloved Hero?
they did it to the G1/Magic, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RKEHfOwnSI&feature=player_embedded
any hope??
If there is a port to G1/Magic I guess that is possible a port to Hero..

yea, let us know
it's certainly buildable for the hero - but most hardware will be broken I would imagine.
Sitting here, playing with an ugly port of the sdk, the first images, most just to remove my pin code so I can get into the system
yes elelinux!
do you think when the sources get released you would have much chance of building a full (or near full) working honeycomb rom?

I think it's possible, but it will not be easy. Especially because Honeycomb is made for tablets... and not for our phones.

That is correct, but strangely all the backlighting of the buttons etc worked out of the box, buttons it is easy to fix if you want.
Just a little test for fun nothing else, also saw that there was support for mdpi so theoretically it could be working on Hero with some manual intervention.
Another thing to, boot up without problems

Yes but hardly anything is working! Even the Nexus one has no audio, wifi, bluetooth, calls!
Yes, it is foolish to ask for a ROM that's meant to run on tablets to be made for phones. But I never have never said and never will say no to a new ROM...
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
Yes it's going to run like ass and our screens won't do any good either.
But... as always, I'm eager to see what crazy stuff the ROM-people come up with.
but the sdk version includes some feature of switching from tablet to mobile mode by simply changing resolution... they won't have included it if it wasn't meant to be run on mobiles, and in 3.1, mobile (2.x) and tablet (3.0) development lines shall be joined (says wikipedia lol). moreover, lots of people out here said it would be impossible to run 2.2 and 2.3 on hero, and right now i'm looking at my rooted android 2.3 hero which is incredibly smooth and stable (way better than with stock os). so why shouldn't it be possible? ele just said even backlight of the buttons worked out of the box, which was not case in 2.x. i'm still believing in our developers (although i can't code well enough to support them ) and i'm sure they'll do some magic
greets, Summoner
Do you really use wikipedia for truths? Anyone can add to Wiki?!
no i don't... i just think it sounds possible... otherwise, there would be two future development lines which the consequence would be that there were VERY different features depending where more / the better devs work on lol^^
i didn't claim it was the absolute truth, otherwise i wouldn't have explicitly said it came from wiki ...

I'm not sure what you are asking for...
Android/Google hasn't released the Source Code yet. So no developer has it. as of right now you can use a SDK port but many of the main features aren't working.
when they goin to port ics in to my touch?

I don't care what the Nexus S is running. We don't own Nexus S phones. Google has not released the source code for Android 4.0 yet. So no developer has it in their hands. EVERYTHING that is out there is a build from the SDK, so there will be flaws.
for a week or two there was a SDK port floating around here on XDA. the thread has been removed due to instability (or some other TOS)... but here is proof of my statement. http://omgdroid.com/2011/10/25/ice-cream-sandwich-4-0-1-sdk-port-mytouch-4g/

no need to state the obvious...
who cares? be patient buddy.
Im itching to try and port ICS, but an SDK port isn't what you want to work with if it can be avoided.
Title is quite confusing, I don't know is your inquiring about when ICS went to the MT4G or something else.
If you really want to use an SDK you can A) port it yourself B)Buy a nexus C)Wait for source D)use ICS theme & launcher

As far as I know, that build never made it past boot looping. I don't think the "dev" even had a MT4G, so there was no way he could get it working. He had similar posts for several devices for which he was attempting to get working ICS.

From my fist to your face, enjoy!
It's being worked on by myself and a couple others. No eta or anything, but I'll start a thread in general section when we have more info on where we stand to keep everyone updated.

[q] htc hd2 ics full hwa?

okay so you might be aware that some time ago, qualcomm released ics binaries for hd2 which would enable full hwa. i appreciate that kernel development does take some time but can i get an approximate date of release or even just some feedback on the progress of enabling full hwa. its just that the n1 and htc desire have full hwa and i don't want our beloved HD2 to fall behind.
I may be wrong, but I think nobody is actually working on kernel HWA for the HD2... or at least there are no public informations about it...
Most HD2 kernel devs have moved to other devices seems...
what about Tytung? since his release of his cm9 rom v1.5, he seems to have gone off the map.
He said he is busy right now and have no time to dedicate to the HD2 development until (the end of?) april...
do you think that there is much hope for seeing hwa after Tytungs return?
I really don't know.. but I hope so... Tytung has the required skills and knowledge...
Let's wait and see...
I hope they will find a solution.
soon dorimanx is back on HD2 development.
he also wants to enable full hwa for cm9 Rom.
REALY?! How do you? did Dorimanx announce this and were??

i read that hwa would never happen for hd2 ics as as devs had moved on to other native android phones.
i really do hope that it will happen but for now, ics is just beta.

search in xda for dorimanx HD2 kernel and Rom threat. they are developing. and hwa is near to working. just fine tuning.
HWA on ICS HD2 works now
just take a look here : HWA in action
YESSSSSSSS! HWA IS WORKING! i love the hd2 developers. thank u so much securecrt, Rick_1995, Dorimanx and Xylograph. i will beg my parents to donate to u all but i dunno if they will. (im only 14 and cannot donate myself ).
Cant wait for a release! Does anybody know, what will be the next step? When can we expect an implimantation for an ICS Rom?
... for me, it's better to wait patiently ... When everything is ready they will surely know us ...

hwa=Hardware acceleration. Like so things can run faster/smoother.
the new CM9 htcleo beta1 rom is amazing! gaming on it is superb. even games like gta 3! cant wait to see what the future of hd2 development has to offer.
Hardware acceleration is already out.
I cant boot my rom....it stucks at GOGOGO or at htc black and green screen. I think the hwa driver doesnt work very well in some htc hd2. Anyone with the same problem? I try to pool out the bat but it stays the same.

If it does work on the Nexus S I suspect the SGS can run it as well. ICS is no slouch but it feels nothing like my out of the box SGS when it started with Eclair (well eventually it got clogged up anyway ) . Go devs!
What kind of speculation could be there? We will get it with CM10 (my guess is september), we will not get it officially from Sammy.
I don't think Samsung pushes the Android 4.1 to SGS. They are kinda lazy creating new TouchWiz'es. Whatever this version of android is much better than ICS.
if we don't even get android 4.0.x, why should we get 4.1?
how i see on youtube jelly bean work good.i think after ics will be finished, jelly bean will be easy to port.

When the encryption problem will be solved, I think it would be pretty coll becaus, as I test the latest rom they build, touchscreen, touchkeys and power key works fine !
i think that we can have JB on gt-9000 in one month...
Encryption is already fixed and a first build with touchscreen and sensors workin is out on the dev thread.
But atm, everything else is broken so we have to wait a while before having an usable build.

Yeah it seems, I haven't try it yet. But, if you did, can you tell me if your phone has restarted after flashing it? My home button is broken so, if something sucks, I can't go back to recovery and I must flash using ODIN to get it back.. That's why I didn't tried it yet because I saw on OP we need to repeat wipe then fix permission. So, if the phone restart after flashing, I can't do that.
But, anyway, I'll try soon! Can't wait anymore
Well, I'd test JB.. it runs very smooth!!
Dev's are working very hard to make everything work ;D
I think gt-i9000 would look fabulous on JB without touchwiz. and it would run it better than ics, since I heard that JB is a lot faster and smoother. can't wait for it.
if there is no JB for gt-i9000 I will finally upgrade my gt-i9100 instead (for the first time. its still running on 2.3.3, don't know why I didn't upgrade it yet while the gt-i9000 is rocking with 4.0.3).
I 'm eagerly awaiting for the port too. When the devs get the radio working, it'll be good to go for me :good:
I'm waiting for radio too. It seems that camera is partially working, hope ril will be next!

HD2 and 4.2 JB Android ?

Hi, as in the development of android on HTC Leo stopped some time ago, and installed the 2.3.5 version, which I have so far and performs very well, I have a basic question, is there a 4.2 ROM for HD2 JB that:
1 looks good
2 not crash
3 not slowing
4 operates smoothly, seamlessly
Some time ago I watched the youtube video of Android 3.0 on hd2 and scared ... work so badly ... all in all not surprised in the PDA has been a few years ...
i use translate ;p
have you looked in hd2 Android development section ,there are quit a few I'm using pac man rom its a nice an fast 4.1.2 jellybean an I love it most jellybean roms are work in progress but in my opinion worth using i wouldn't say development has stopped at all. check it out just read an follow directions.

You are a joker my friend...only very very few phones still have 4.1.2...and the hd2 has it..try the Pac man Rom and try native sd Rom versions to see what actually is called development
