guys can we se this thread for the development of 720p on hd2 and android? the old thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991249 seem that isn't more updated
anyone has infos about the development of this important feauture? wp7 has this feauture but i love android and wp7 can't be installed on sd card and i want keep android on nand
let we know guys please!
thank you (please don't move this thread)
There is hope mate, i read somewhere on xda threads that the new magldr 2.0 may bring support for 720p also in android...no one knows the release date for it , so please don't ask..just wait.
If by chance you feel a little inpacient, buy yourself a good class 10 card and run android from that. (with WP7 on nand).
i already have a class10 card, but i know that on nand android is better
so i will use only sometime wp7 on nand and everyday android on sd? i think that is a poor solution, i hope that this info of magdlr 2.0 is true!
another info is: using android on sd card everyday can damage the sdcard? will be more slow than nand? or consume more battery?
Thanks to the bad lens and sensor, the quality wouldn't really be any better anyways.. Our HD2 turns 2 years old soon, it's time for a new phone!
I'm thinking HTC One X.

using android on sd card everyday can damage the sdcard: your sd card is used more so it will have shorter life then used as Nand.
will be more slow than nand: yes, there is good difference in speed, responsivity and less freezing issues on Nand
consume more battery: Again yes, cause your Sd card will be more active and other reasons.

And we all love/appreciate the work they doing. It´s a Win - Win : )
Great news, and now Camera HD for HD2
Great, hopefully also help with the PPP issue
Big news for HD lovers as me and greats chance for our dear developers ... thanks to all developers for continuos support ...
Camera ?
NAND ?
That is a good news.
Now waiting.
Theoretically it should be not much more than finding the references to the HD camera sensor (S5K3H1GX) and make sure that the HD2 sensor (s5k3e2fx) is referenced there. The source for the HD2 sensor is available in the published kernel source. Now we only need a cook to do it.
first want to see that they have published whole kernel and not everything except the camera ( i know they are watching us ) and ofcourse they dont like it if we finish the build .
waiting patiently for the devs and hope they fix it soon

ok, a noob question, but with this release can developers now make a ROM that can replace windows mobile on the device memory or does this just fix minor glitches like the camera? if this relese does NOT do this wht will it take for us to have a rom that no longer has to be used from the memory card? thanks in advance.

No, this will not enable the NAND procedure. Actually, what gain do you expect from that except faster booting? The current SD version is a bit slower on startup but changing and upgrading is a breeze compared to NAND and you can have multiple versions installed and even the option to boot WM if you really feel the urge. With a fast SD card I doubt that Android will run much faster in flash mem.
So if you really prefer Android in firmware you will have to wait until the chefs are ready cooking this version (which probably should happen in the next month or so)

I do not fully understand what is the difference between NAND and SD boot. Is it really the case that after the boot system is sitting in the NAND... or maybe simpler Yes/No question:
After the NAND boot system is in THE SAME STATE as after the SD boot. The ONLY difference is that I have Android folder on SD card? (YES/NO)
hi guys. so in the last few days i've been messing around with Android/NAND and i have to say somethings are still problematic...
my main rom that i tried which somewhat worked great (and even had arabic files for it) is the HD2 CoreDroid DHD V1 ROM. This is a great ROM however its very very sluggish and slow at booting/doing anything ... it is a nightmare to wake up the HD2 when its in sleep and there are these two to four seconds of "pausing" it has. [edit: i am starting to blame the Class 4 8GB microSD here. i'll have to change it and report]
so i got bored and decided what the he** let me try WP7... i have to say WP7 with its limitations is very smooth on the HD2.. the animations which i wish the android has are really smooth and fluid.
this is not to say i am sticking wp7 on my beloved hd2.. i am just asking the most basic questions here:
Can I find a ROM thats quick, supports the arabic libskia* files or has them compiled to work and still be quick?
Check here
Wrong Section bro.
Theres plenty of fast roms around here... try some out like all of us.

You can find all the nice roms in the above link!
Better, don't create this kind of threads, search-download-test and choose on your own!
Good luck!
Try Dandiest rom in SD Android section, I think it supports Arabic .... as you want to run wm7 along with Android, right?
and yet these responses are expected. oh well. thanks anyhow..
but still though i wanted to know if anyone is experiencing slowdowns on ROMS like the 2/4 sec delay and during screen wakeup...

a) Post in the correct section, you are not a dev and this topic is not development.
b) Dont post silly topics, "good", "best", "stable" etc etc etc are all subjective terms and differs from device to device and person to person, go try some roms and make your own decision like we do.

Hi guys,
I have to install Android on a customer's blackstone..
I want to install him a Stable (everything working : Wifi, Camera, GPS, GSM network, speaker, ..), and almost fast ROM under Android 2.2 or 2.3
Tried every available ROM. Some are not working for me, some are unstable (Froyo X Camera : I can't get the camera working / FRX06 : I can't get wifi working : many errors / Blazn won't boot / .. ).
I saw there are many modules and zImage available, and other files..
Could someone send me, please, a full packaging of a completely working ROM ?
Or just explain me/ Tell me how to install a working order rom ?
Thank you VERY much !
Read other threads / search forums
I searched for 3 days.. Just nothing stable
I found that some people were using Froyo X Camera with camera app working, but I'm unable to do it, even following the tutorial.. They don't explain more..
Wait for Nand or buy a 2G-no class µSD card as many issues are caused by µSD cards.
Any way, any stable Android you could find 'd not last more than 12h so I'wd'nt propose that to a customer...
Hi dear compatriot
I have to bring his phone back tomorrow, then I have to do a rapid choice..
I succeed with FroyoXRed, seems faster & more stable with some files I found randomly on the web (rootfs, ..) , now with Camera..
But if somebody has a "fast/stable" complete android ROM, please upload it

Just my opinion after much persuasion HTC Android for the adoption of its system
Neither the assembly does not work well, it's only for playing and testing. The problem is battery malfunction components (cam, bt, usb,...), restarts, etc.
Perhaps NAND see how it will be a solution orig Android.
Good luck and patience during installation, I have not yet surrendered.
sorry my english
The problem is: there is yet no android ROM. It will come soon, check tiad8's site as jeanfrederic said. He is working on it.
i have used GBX0A for two weeks,or so...and i had no problems with it,everything worked fine, even 2D and 3D...and i had not even one SOD (sleep of death)
you can find it @ xdandroid.com in their repository

Simply explain that Blackstone is NOT Android specced phone, and that maybe even TIANDROID (Tiad8's NAND Android) will not bring it to full stability/speed/usability.

Tell the customer his a .... (you can decide) the Touch HD / Blackstone is a Windows Mobile Device ! Android wont run, Well to a point, but it not stable enough to be used as a day to day system, As many features dont work, Like
Camera, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth,
If your " Customer " wants Android tell him to either get the HD2 / Leo or a dedicated Android Phone,
The List
- HTC
- Samsung
- Motorola
- ZTL / ZTE ?
- Orange
Is Endluss......

Why are you sending people AWAY from xda-devs? XDAndroid is hands down the best Android build(s). tiad8 got banned from xda-devs for a good reason! Don't direct people to his site, shame on you!
Edit - just read the OP in detail, what do you mean a 'customers phone'? I wouldn't install this on someone else's phone unless they are well aware that this is not stable or ready for primetime yet.

hi guys.
So i have wp 7.5 nand and im kinda getting bored of it even though its stability is amazing(also speed) and i have android on my sd but all theses sd roms arent that satisfying so i am considering moving to android nand.
ive seen many nand roms that look amazing and my question is if i install nand on it will it be the same as a native android device (speed, stability,.battery etc...)
and do u think i should do that change?
if yes then please recommend some roms with eachs specialty
thanks
Note: i install many apps like 200+ thats why sd builds never agree with me, so also consider that(i have searched, watched videos but...)

As for android on band, yes its comparable to a real android device. Better than many, in fact.

it took me well over a year to get my HD2 from WM6.5 to android, now im running a beta version of android 4.0.1 its great.
i suggest you really look into it to begin with, if you do decide to do it i would get the HTC HD2 TOOL Kit, and a CustomRUU from DFT to initially hack the device, these where the things that took me a few go's to figure it out, and youtube is great for advice

Sense 2.1 looks old but it is perfect for our "older " phone. With this rom I have fully working Wi-Fi tethering. It is not build in the rom, but I can make it work

It really comes down to personal taste, between cm7, sense, aosp, etc...
But android has come along way on nand and in some cases outperforms alot of phones(this is a 2yr old device but still a beast ;-) ) but just try a few roms and choose one. Grab the hd2 toolkit for your system partions and cwm, and off you go!!
Good luck!
