Just like the question says, I'm looking for a widget that can display both the internal & external storage. And if it shows the memory (RAM), then it's a plus. Please help as I've tried almost all BUT all of them display ONLY the stats of internal space in BOTH. Thanks in advance.

The notification bar says low on space and under that it says phone storage is getting low. The sd card and the internal storage still have a lot of space left. can someone tell me what this means and how i can fix it?
P.S. the voice recognition on this thing is great .
EDIT: sorry i didn't look to see that there are other topics about this. I should have searched ( or looked through the first page lol). Please lock this thread.

Hullo.
Finally got my Tab (BOOYAH! )
installed several apps, and quite big ones at that. Noticed my internal storage was going down but not the internal memory or sd was going down.
Basically, at which point will apps be stored on the sd card? After internal storage has run out?

Only certain apps can be moved to the SD card, but it's up to the developer to make his app movable.
I suggest you to download this little app
http://www.appbrain.com/app/app-2-sd-(move-apps-to-sd)/com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd
It will scan your apps to know which one are movable.
Oh. So its only stock FroYo a2sd? :|

Should be able to use ModInstallLocation to force apps to external memory, but i've not found the need to try it yet.
Regards,
Dave
2gb is more than enough for me, but i was expecting it to be more like a2sd+ than cruddy FroYo a2sd.

Hey guys,
Recent iOS convert and still figuring out a lot about my atrix and android in general.
Would someone be willing to give me a rundown on how media and apps are stored?
Specifically, where are Market and non market apps stored on the atrix? Can I control the download location through settings?
The same for music and video? I've been dragging and dropping media to intetnal storage but it appears on my 8 gig SD?
Same goes for beyondpod. Can't figure out the storage path.
A little confused.
Thanks for the help. This is a heck of a community!

First, the "sdcard" is your internal storage. An actual sdcard will be referred to as external or sdcardext, or something like that. You can place music and pics pretty much on either one and the music player and gallery will find it. As for apps, you can download them and most will end up in non-accessible internal memory but you can go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and select the app and you might or might not have a choice to move to "Phone" or "media Area". The media area will be the external card.
Live is correct, you can put anything on either SD or ExtSD and it will be found. As for the apps they download to /system/apps in the Internal phone storage, unless you do the above and move them to the SD card. To be honest though you've got a ton of storage on the internal phone storage for apps so unless you have like 500+ apps it won't be an issue. As far as how the internal SD is organized basically the Internal phone storage and internal SD are the same thing, the internal phone storage is just partitioned off to be used for the OS and app storage and you see the remainder as usable SD internal storage.
Thanks for the information guys, much appreciated.
Why can't I see the SD Card contents with a file manager app? It only shows me the internal memory contents.
Am I missing something here? It shows me that I have a 16gb SD Card in there and when I connect my phone to my macBook Air, it only shows me the SD Card contents and not the internal memory.
Something is weird here.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Dogan
Where are you looking and which app are you using? I use Root Explorer. The external SD card is in /mnt/external1 on my device.

Yep mine too
I have a 32gb and part of it shows under mnt/sdcard and a major part of it shows under mnt/external1
Use a file manager and see if it shows there...

Got it working. It was just showing the internal memory before but now showing it under mnt/external(or something like that)
Thanks guys
I've noticed at times the external storage seems a bit finicky - randomly things happen like dodolom described. Plus, who decided to put designate the path /mnt/external1 ? Quite a few apps have to be redirected to that and don't find it by default.
There is a file manager on the phone already just go to file and you can see everything.

I have a related question:
Anyone know how to view the internal SD contents when connected to a PC? Given that the M stores photos to the internal storage, I figure it would be nice to pull them off occasionally when connected to a PC. However, when I connect via USB, I see only the SD card.
Thanks.

When it's plugged in, pull the notification bar down and change the usb thing to MTP from Mass Storage (or however it's worded). That should do it.

Well I have a quick question. After updating to the new JB build, I noticed that under the settings tab then storage, there is no longer then option to quickly transfer files from internal storage to SD card.
Does anyone know if there is another way to do this? Other than using a file manager, this feature will definitely be missed. I found it very useful to quickly move pictures, music, etc. without having to copy-paste in a file manager.
Or, does anyone know of an app that can mimic this?

Dyelon,
I read through the linked thread but what I was looking for was to move personal data (such as pictures, music, downloaded content from browser) from the phones internal memory to the SD card quickly, not so much as moving app to SD. In ICS under settings > memory there was the option to manage internal storage and move items quickly:
(http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=63946) Look towards the bottom of this page.
Seems like after the update to JB its no longer an option.
But on a related note, thanks for the info on apps to sd!

This has been bugging the heck out of me! Hoping someone knows something I don't. I love the manage internal storage feature in ICS
The Link2SD method posted didn't work for my Razr M after trying many different times.
