Just found out - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Just found out that my pen for my Samsung Series 7 Slate works on the G Note

there is a thread with a huge list of alternative pens for the phone, which work and which do not work. search next time

Was't looking for one J. A.

i know I was basically saying you are making a pointless thread and should have posted this in the correct place

Any capative pen should work with SGN. You have a 1000 discoveries to make.

[Q] Do we need a seperate sub-forum for the 10.1v

I think we need a seperate forum for the 10.1v to avoid confusion.
What do you think?
I feel that will be a great help. The devices are different enough.
I would say YES, but only if 10.1 (new) comes with Exynos inside. If not it will be the same device just with different i/o ports.
Let's wait and see.

Fair enough. I think at the least, this forum should be renamed to 10.1v until further information is available.
It's also likely to get flooded with chatter about ordering, shipping etc getting closer to the 10.1 (no V) release date.
I think so..... I've seen tons of new people in this forum, flooding it with questions about the 10.1V. It's slightly annoying.

Point taken but I don't think you can blame people for posting about one version or the other. Until each version has it's own forum, this will be treated as a 'general' 10.1 forum and there is bound to be confusion / frustration.
But if the only major difference between the 2 will be thickness there is no need for 2 forums. Is there?
Nobody knows what's inside the 10.1. I doubt whether they will be similar enough to share ROMs.
The problem is that the 10.1v will be out next week and in the absence of a dedicated 'v' forum, this one is likely to get hijacked.

Well... 10.1v can be created.
If both tablets will run Tegra 2 they can always be merged...

It already appears there will be many more differences than just thickness. Though I guess devices like the Magic (Sapphire) with the 32a and 32b versions were kept in the same forum. Also seems like the two versions may share accessories as well, so that further confuses things.
I can't imagine they will share the same cases though.
There really does seem to be a lot of confusion and threads getting hijacked right now (take a look at Galaxy Tab 10.1v 32GB thread to see how far off topic it can get and how much confusion there is).

So far non of which influences software. For me, major difference is SOC which at this point is not verified.
But if both devices will be a Tagra2 tablet than all the same applies to both of them - software and "tricks" wise.

Yes indeed!
svetius created us a seperate sub-forum for ROM development. That should be sufficient, at least for now since its the only forum where it REALLY matters. If you're creating new threads, its probably worth putting 10.1v or 10.1 in the thread title. Mind you, the latter might still attract posts about 10.1v as it is more generic

Will the Transformer support future versions of Windows 8?

After some Google'ing im unsure whether we will see future versions of Microsoft's Windows 8 Operating system on tablet devices such as the Transformer, or any Nvidia TegraII tablets? What do you guys think? I would love to see Windows 8 on my Transformer?

I sure hope so!
Really? You couldn't search and add to the several existing windows 8 threads already in existance

Guy above (and the one above him too) is right there are at least 20 billion other threads about this already.
Basic facts are that Nvidia demoed windows 8 running on a tegra 2 tablet on 1ghz and one gig of ram so it is possible main problem is the legality of porting a non opensource system and rewriting bootloaders

Quick answer? It took him two hours to get that answer. Much faster to just browse the first couple pages of threads IMO. But i also don't agree with being rude so I usually just ignore threads like this.

searching before posting is a rule, not a suggestion. It is irritating for the many of us who peruse these forums even on a weekly basis having to see multiple threads covering the same subjects, and quite a few occassions they are on the first page AND in multiple subforums. I see many say "don't feed the trolls", I say "don't feed the newbs".
Well if you rather argue then discuss that fine. I can be sure I searched the forums before I posted this topic. The matter is constantly changing with new information being leaked all the time. I read similar topics and basically couldn't find the answer i was looking for. Thanks guys ! Well thanks to the one guy who posted an actual reply. =)

I'm not sure why one particular mouse wouldn't work, but I doubt anyone wants to modify the bluetooth stack to get one of the worst possible mice to work.
Spend that $25 on a good bluetooth mouse.
Use DroidMote
Server to run on Tab
Client to run on phone
It'll cost you $23 less.
this IS NOT development bro. this should be in Q&A or the General section.
ideas on better mouse

Offerring a measly $25 to someone to spend a lot of time tinkering around to fix an issue that really is a non-issue seems kind of out of bounds.

[POLL/Q] How many Devs will move to the Note II?

Hey Folks!
Knowing that there actually is the "one and only - everything belongs here - Master - Uber - Thread" for Note II stuff, I woke up this morning suddendly being such a shamless guy who thinks, that this topic deserves an own thread!
As it became very important for my purchasing habit to know if there will be a developing community (and I think that I´m not alone with this strange thoughts), I would like to ask the devs, cooks, themers etc. if they see any (great) future for the Note II and if they are planning to switch or at least to "touch" the Note II in near future.
If this poll should become reliable, I would like to ask everyone who is NOT working on ROMs or Apps to NOT touch the poll :highfive:
Hehe, okay this is very encouraging :cyclops:
gonna report the thread as its well known that theres one already to post everything about note 2... why wouldnt they develop for note 2? most devs does have and support several devices at once
and therese already a note 2 dedicated forum

I don´t know if you have read the content of this thread, but I´m pretty sure that hardly any dev will look into the general thread...and furthermore: it is not possible to start a poll when I´m not the OP of a thread. And it would become hard to get an insight about the number of devs interested in the Note II when this question is asked in a all-you-can-think-of-thread.
I have seen a couple threads closed because note2 general thread that I did not agree with. Putting them in a general thread gets them burried and then no one sees them. Rubber stamping note2 threads is not a good solution. Unfortunately I think this thread is well suited for the Note2 General thread.

Would be nice to know, which devs will be continuing support, perhaps they could simply tell us in their rom, thread , but then again look how old the s2 is and the dev is still full on. That's what's so great about xda, even the old hd2, HTC diamond and desire hd have lots of development, often lots of the new updates in the later models can be ported across, ie we have some s3 elements likewise the same will happen with the note 2.

Hello,
What's the differences between Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500, i9505 Which one is better the Quad Core or Octa and which one Support LTE and which one is not.
This has been asked a hundred of times in this forum. Try doing a little search before creating a new thread. Also look on GSM Arena website for technical differences on both phones.

I have used a tonne of forums to understand how they work. The forum wouldn't exist if people didn't ask questions or post their concerns.
It's about helping people and not keeping all your new found knowledge to yourself.
If by better you mean faster, more powerful, better battery life etc then the 8 core.
If you mean which will have better support for custom ROMs and software, the usa veriant with snapdragon quad core.
If I was going ti buy one it would be the 8 core but I'm going to hold out to see what nexus 5 and note 3 bring as s4 isn't enough of an upgrade from s3 but my 1gb ram is limiting and I will defo upgrade this year.

Well that's easy. One is super awesome, and the other one is absolutely terrible. But you get the decide which is which.
On a separate but related note, as others have said, this has been discussed many many times here and has resulted in quite a few locked threads, misinformation, and mini flame wars.
That's why, here at Xda there's this little rule about searching before posting...
