android to windows 7 - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

im currently on android nand
can i convert the phone to windows 7 ?

anyone ?. . .

task29 to erase nand
you can flash original WM6.5 or flash radio 2.15
then install MAGLDR and flash WP7...
look my signature, you have all there (look tutorial)
recommended ROM with radio 5.51

Is there a step by step tutorial for installing the best wp7 rom ? I also dont know exactly what to do..
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App

just look my tutorial from signature
https://rapidshare.com/files/3354188424/ROM_install_Tutorial_v1.4.pdf

Is the Pdaimatejam stable and good for daily use? I already have an activation key from MS can I use it on this ROM? Im currently using my MUIU and its pretty stable but i like how WP& works..

stability is bit of luck depends to your SDcard... if card stable before this not mean is good now.... you see this when try... if no problem then all is stable...
you can use your Live activation code....

Got a 2GB sandisk sdcard.. will try tomorrow, the download is really slow but thanks for the help
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App

thanks
do you need a live activation code ?

every HD2 ROM need Live activation code if you want marketplace

how much are they ?

free... just contact microsoft (phone or chat) and ask for Live activation code for HTC HD7

@dxdy
I just tried three times to install the ROM mentioned in your signature.
I followed your guide step by step:
- Task 29
- flashed HSDPL 2.08 (it was on before, but did again just in case)
- flashed Radio 2.15
- flashed MagLdr 1.13
- used "UseLast24NAND" and "ClearSD MDR"
- flashed the newest ROM with 5.51 (1_HD2_Pdaimatejam_ROM_WP7.5_mango_7.10.8107.79_v7.3_radio5.51)
This all works perfectly, and the ROM is flashed. But after the flash is done, it reboots to the HTC logo and is stuck there. Removing battery does not help, it boots again to the HTC logo and is stuck again.
Any idea what I did wrong?
I have a German HTC HD2 from TMo. Android NAND was installed before.
In an older guide from you you wrote something about "Download HTC EU/WWE - only for EU phones". What is that? Do I still need that? If so: there is no download with "WWE" in its name on HTC site...

this is old WM 6.5...
seems your sdcard is problem....

my SD card is the original HTC 2GB card. This should work, shouldn't it?
(at least flashing Android was not a problem)

Just downloaded and installed, works smooth but got 1 freeze. Marketplace, evrything working =) Just need to get used to WP7 but it looks kinda cool

not necessarily... since WP7 updated to mango, many sdcards stopped working in WP7...

WinMo still there after flashing Android on NAND :(

Hi, I'm very new to HD2 and currently having a problem with it. I used to flash some winmo roms on my HD2 UK, but then I moved to Android. Everything was working well with Android builds on SD card, however, when I started to flash Android on NAND, the welcome screen of my previous WinMo rom is still there. So do I need to do a task29 to format my device's rom then? And if so, do i need to flash radio and MAGLDR again?
I still get that few seconds screen of my energy Rom but it doesn't mean wm is still there.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
well winmo isnt on your phone anymore but you can still do it to have a "clean" build. make a task29 (preferrably with the light version which is using a blank .nbh, youll see it in first post of task29 thread) then flash any .50 radio and afterwards magldr and android. did it the same way to have a (hopefully) clean build

ahhhh one of the energy followers,he was one of a thew that made windows mobi worth using back then, suppose he'll have to move on to android soon.lol.i use get that on mine to, WinMobi has gone from mine,no loger there, gone, anilated, ablitterd, destroyed, well maybe not those 3 but wiped, gone for good, ive never been so happy with a Windows phone now its gone just do a task 29,that should get rid of it forever
If someone could make a nice, simple, "DROID" logo, 480x800 JPG i can easy make it into a flashable splash screen for the first image
i would do it but im not arty

What build did you download?
this
ANDROI_PPC-SHIFTPDA_GingerBread 2.3.2_WP7S_NAND (26.JAN.11)\......if you or anyone has a link to the DFT gingerbread nand id be much appreciative DD
It's doing exactly what it should do. I'm not being funny, but did you even look at the thread before downloading the ROM, because the very first image on the page shows you a WP7 style app running?

You need to either flash a stock gingerbread ROM (if you do want Gingerbread), or find out what the WP7 style app is and just uninstall it.
The good news is that you do have Gingerbread now running on your phone
no i did look but i thought it would be switchable? because even on the screenshot you got there there are 2 styles to the rom or so it appeared to me

If you find out what the Windows Phone app is then you can clear the defaults for it (Settings, Applications, Manage applications), so that when you press the home key it will ask you what app to use. You can then select the stock launcher and use that instead.
If you're not going to use the WP7 app though, you're better off getting rid of it.
ok
i found a good stock gingerbread and i just magldr 1.12 flash right over the wp7 rom or do i have to uninstall the wp7 ....microsoft sucks hahah android owns the earth D

Yes, just use Magldr and select USB flash. And you do not have WP7 on your phone. It's an Android application that looks a little bit like it.

U must have installed OS image(nk.nbf).
Download

See this great work by SHAHEN with a little ammendment by me that is (wm6.5 booting screen) in the start
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D50DiLTjJU
If you also want a wm6.5 booting screen you can do the following
1. get the two files which are attached below
2. If you download SHAHEN's rom then its very good.......otherwise if you only want the wm6.5 booting screen then you may download only my files
3. copy the splash2.nb file to your windows directory in you ppc
4. now copy the splash_changer to you ppc and run it..
5. You are done now reset your device and see
extract the splash.rar file
it contains two files Splash2.nb (wm6.5 booting screen)
and splash.nb (wm6.1 booting screen)
splash2.nb can be directly copied to the windows folder
for Splash.nb first rename it to Splash2.nb before coping to windows folder
It would be great if somebody could upload some screenshots, cause my battery is dead and radio part is bricked. At the present moment I can't do it. Especially dialer screenshot, like this one, but with English captions.
I hope i could upload the screen shots
But my radio already bricked
And please somebody first install SHAHEN ROM before installing my splash screens because we want to know wether it already has wm6.5 booting screen or not
and if it did not have then you can follow my points and can have it
THanks
WTF
Russian version already contained wm 6.5 splashscreen like on the banner. So I'm confused.
But i already installed it before thats why i see no change
you can see my wm6.1 splash screen
so that i upload more with something different
Here is my windows7 and vista splash screen check it
Download it and then comment please
For all bootscreens the same method
rename the splash.nb file to splash2.nb
use the splash_changer given in above posts to install it

Waiting for the WWE port. No problems on flashing? Please, include the working flashing tool. Oh, I see, you did it, Thanx.
Update
Yep, no problems on flashing. RUS version works very well. I've started my work on WWE port 2 weeks ago, but..... I've got a little problem. Unfortunately, due to lack of free time, this project was temporary stopped. As soon as it is possible, I will continue to work on this port... I hope it will be ok.
Good work Shahen

It comes in 2 flavours:
task 29 -this performs a format of the binfs storage area after flashing a ROM.
This is the one you should use when flashing ROMs.
Hopefully, most ROM chefs will bundle this into their downloads with their NBH files for you .
task 00 - this does not perform any kind of format after flashing a ROM.
This is the one you should use when flashing just Splash screens or Radios.
It saves you from having to restore all your data.
Thanks goto:
cmonex & Olipro - for everything, as always.
pof - bootloader stuff.
udk - previous RUU wrappers.
ceesheim - The idea & my tester.
very nice good work
can this be use before flashing the new rom (old task 29)

Nope, not made a separate task 29 tool, those should all be the same I think.
This is just an RUU that performs a task 29 after flashing a new ROM.

its not working ....
Ok i got this thing working but on the dialog screen , it shows a blank for the original image.
It only shows the rom version that i want to flash eg. 5.66
Great tool to have.
Def gonna be included when I start releasing roms again.

yes that is possible but there is no need to use it on a OEM rom because that will always reset the phone , but on stock (OEM) radio you can use it and then the phone isn't reset.

Are you at SPL 4.xx or higher? (5.1 maybe?)
if so, none of the loaders will work until you downgrade your SPL.

[Q] Web browsing problem with WP 7.5 Pdaimatejam

Hi,
Have installed recently WP 7.5 by Pdaimatejam:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
All fine, except couple of bugs:
1. Can't run any web browsing application. When trying to open IE I get the Home screen all the time. Same applies to any other applications that requires web browsing (i.e. news, weather updates etc.)
2. I can see the email headings, but can't open any of them. When clicking on message I get the Home screen. Have a Gmail account.
3. Battery drain. I guess this is common. Have downgraded the radio version to 5.51, with no improvement. Tried the trick with camera (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041912). Same problem. Any idea?
Any advise is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi!
1&2. What language are you using? Have hear wierd reports of programs not starting and what not if you use different language than the standard ones in the release...
3. Camera-trick should not be needed anymore with new version Drain is quite common... Try to flash hardware radio 2.12 - some people are reporting good results with that one!

Damn this problem seems wierder and wierder... I know it's a long shot but how about reinstalling the build from scratch? Seems like the only option left! I suppose the problem is there on both wifi and 3G? Have you installed any apps before the problem presented itself?

Seems like I have a problem upgrading the hardware radio. I guess my current version is 2.08 (this is what I see in the bootloader: SPL-2.08). I use Custom_RUU while in bootloader and RUU_Signed.nbh (which is the re-titled file of radio version I've downloaded). Still when I complete the upgrade and go back to bootloader I see the same info: SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE. Any idea why it doesn't upgrade the radio?
The version you read as 2.08 is the SPL version Radio version is not displayed unless you are running WM6.5 unfortunatly... On the other hand if the installer ran as it should you are probably on the version you installed!

i had a similar problem with winmo 6.5 installed earlier on my phone....
i did a factory reset....set up the profiles and stuff....and thereafter did a soft reset and the web browser started working all fine....dont know bout win 7.....but i think u can give it a try....if internet is working elsewhere then its most prabably an issue with the settings....
