WinMo still there after flashing Android on NAND :( - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi, I'm very new to HD2 and currently having a problem with it. I used to flash some winmo roms on my HD2 UK, but then I moved to Android. Everything was working well with Android builds on SD card, however, when I started to flash Android on NAND, the welcome screen of my previous WinMo rom is still there. So do I need to do a task29 to format my device's rom then? And if so, do i need to flash radio and MAGLDR again?

I still get that few seconds screen of my energy Rom but it doesn't mean wm is still there.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

well winmo isnt on your phone anymore but you can still do it to have a "clean" build. make a task29 (preferrably with the light version which is using a blank .nbh, youll see it in first post of task29 thread) then flash any .50 radio and afterwards magldr and android. did it the same way to have a (hopefully) clean build

ahhhh one of the energy followers,he was one of a thew that made windows mobi worth using back then, suppose he'll have to move on to android soon.lol.i use get that on mine to, WinMobi has gone from mine,no loger there, gone, anilated, ablitterd, destroyed, well maybe not those 3 but wiped, gone for good, ive never been so happy with a Windows phone now its gone just do a task 29,that should get rid of it forever

If someone could make a nice, simple, "DROID" logo, 480x800 JPG i can easy make it into a flashable splash screen for the first image
i would do it but im not arty

problem solved

i done this Tron one but cant flash using HSPL at the mo so wouldnt be able to test.if anyone want to use it and turn into a Splash.ive uploaded as a jpeg so you can turn into a bmp and do what you need to flash it

Open Touch Project

Hello all,
I was flashing roms all day long from different contributors.
But now that I finally got a good one. The same stupid "bootlogo" keeps still showing with the text "open touch project" and this isn't an open touch project.
So what does it keep showing and how can I get rid of it. Cause it slows down the phone. Current OS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556389
Thanks for the help!
That splash screen is not part of the OS. It's a separate splash screen that not many cooks change.
If you want to overwrite it, flash one of my JustHome or JustStableV2 as MOST versions of them had a simple HTC splash screen that looks more professional. Or make your own using the walkthrough I created. (It's on the first page of the development forum.) You will be flashing a created splash ROM (separate from the OS ROM) and it will most likely wipe your current settings like a hard reset when it flashes.)

If you'd like an animated startup image (it's the bootscreen of Windows 7 starting up), then you could flash my ROM, get the bootscreen on your phone, and then flash back to your chosen ROM.

Well he asked to simply get rid of the Open Touch Project splash screen, that's all. He didn't specify which one he wanted it replaced with, so he can just use one that he thinks looks nice!
Well i replaced it with the HTC bootskin the nice one and it works now and for the second one to create a "cooler" effect i just replaced it with advanced config. Thanks for the help!

That's why appearance has different tastes. And honestly, I think the one that you think has more "class" (in the picture), is way to lame! So, we have our own ideas, so be it!

thanks i was looking intot he diffrent builds i have tried several but i think im sticking with the EVO CARBON REMIX. you should look at it too. everything seems to be working with no problems.
Some people have reported problems when mixing different android builds and windows rom. If everything is working right for you I'd suggest you keep it like that and just mess with the android portion of it.
Looks like we do live next to each other. It's cold out.
yeah i think the version of windows i have if fine for me. I got the android EVO Carbon build on there and it works perfectly. ill just stick to that.
And yes it is cold out. Went to the mall today... it was packed and cold...
now you should update your rom before the phone start crashing (get energy rom put in)

Evo carbon Remix is the shiz. It works great with the stock 3.14 ROM and 2.15 stock radio. With any Android ROM running off of the SD card, eventually you will get corruption.
One word of advice that I can give is that once you get it all setup and **** is working great, back up the build in a folder on your computer. then when it starts acting dumb, just format your sd card and recopy the good build you backed up onto it...
I've got about 15 perfect builds chillin on my computer. I usually don't back them up until I've done the full batterystats.bin cycle.
My favs are the Blutopia 1.0.4, Evo Carbon Remix V 0.6, Core Droid Supersonic V 0.7. I like the Desire HD builds around, but they aren't as solid as the SD builds. Evo is better than the Desire builds IMHO. Seems like the data is always faster.

Only difference between the 2 and 3 are the spl options. Both will get you to the same spot, but HSPL3 is more dumb proof cuz it only gives you two options 2.08 and HSPL 2.08. Like I said, it doesn't matter which one you use.
since i updated the official rom. do i have to do the HPSL again?

Nope. Not unless you flashed the ROM from the SD card. Go into bootloader. Hold down Volume rocker and push red power button. Hold em until you see the tri color screen... It will tell you what SPL you have.

HELP magldr. 1.12 wont load cause rapitool keeps failing

and i tried d/ling windows mobile device center but since im using nand android now that dont work and htc sync does work but rapitool continues to fail ... im stuck trying to prep for flashing to gingerbread but i heard you dont have to flash to winmo just flash magldr 1.12 over 1.1 but keep as i said getting rapitool error
Are you putting your HD2 into bootloader then attempting to flash? You MUST flash from bootloader!

ANDROI_PPC-SHIFTPDA_GingerBread 2.3.2_WP7S_NAND (26.JAN.11)\......if you or anyone has a link to the DFT gingerbread nand id be much appreciative DD
It's doing exactly what it should do. I'm not being funny, but did you even look at the thread before downloading the ROM, because the very first image on the page shows you a WP7 style app running?

You need to either flash a stock gingerbread ROM (if you do want Gingerbread), or find out what the WP7 style app is and just uninstall it.
The good news is that you do have Gingerbread now running on your phone
no i did look but i thought it would be switchable? because even on the screenshot you got there there are 2 styles to the rom or so it appeared to me

If you find out what the Windows Phone app is then you can clear the defaults for it (Settings, Applications, Manage applications), so that when you press the home key it will ask you what app to use. You can then select the stock launcher and use that instead.
If you're not going to use the WP7 app though, you're better off getting rid of it.
ok

See this great work by SHAHEN with a little ammendment by me that is (wm6.5 booting screen) in the start
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D50DiLTjJU
If you also want a wm6.5 booting screen you can do the following
1. get the two files which are attached below
2. If you download SHAHEN's rom then its very good.......otherwise if you only want the wm6.5 booting screen then you may download only my files
3. copy the splash2.nb file to your windows directory in you ppc
4. now copy the splash_changer to you ppc and run it..
5. You are done now reset your device and see
extract the splash.rar file
it contains two files Splash2.nb (wm6.5 booting screen)
and splash.nb (wm6.1 booting screen)
splash2.nb can be directly copied to the windows folder
for Splash.nb first rename it to Splash2.nb before coping to windows folder
It would be great if somebody could upload some screenshots, cause my battery is dead and radio part is bricked. At the present moment I can't do it. Especially dialer screenshot, like this one, but with English captions.
I hope i could upload the screen shots
But my radio already bricked
And please somebody first install SHAHEN ROM before installing my splash screens because we want to know wether it already has wm6.5 booting screen or not
and if it did not have then you can follow my points and can have it
THanks
WTF
Russian version already contained wm 6.5 splashscreen like on the banner. So I'm confused.
But i already installed it before thats why i see no change
you can see my wm6.1 splash screen
so that i upload more with something different
Here is my windows7 and vista splash screen check it
Download it and then comment please
For all bootscreens the same method
rename the splash.nb file to splash2.nb
use the splash_changer given in above posts to install it

Waiting for the WWE port. No problems on flashing? Please, include the working flashing tool. Oh, I see, you did it, Thanx.
Update
Yep, no problems on flashing. RUS version works very well. I've started my work on WWE port 2 weeks ago, but..... I've got a little problem. Unfortunately, due to lack of free time, this project was temporary stopped. As soon as it is possible, I will continue to work on this port... I hope it will be ok.
Good work Shahen

Is there a step by step tutorial for installing the best wp7 rom ? I also dont know exactly what to do..

Is the Pdaimatejam stable and good for daily use? I already have an activation key from MS can I use it on this ROM? Im currently using my MUIU and its pretty stable but i like how WP& works..

@dxdy
I just tried three times to install the ROM mentioned in your signature.
I followed your guide step by step:
- Task 29
- flashed HSDPL 2.08 (it was on before, but did again just in case)
- flashed Radio 2.15
- flashed MagLdr 1.13
- used "UseLast24NAND" and "ClearSD MDR"
- flashed the newest ROM with 5.51 (1_HD2_Pdaimatejam_ROM_WP7.5_mango_7.10.8107.79_v7.3_radio5.51)
This all works perfectly, and the ROM is flashed. But after the flash is done, it reboots to the HTC logo and is stuck there. Removing battery does not help, it boots again to the HTC logo and is stuck again.
Any idea what I did wrong?
I have a German HTC HD2 from TMo. Android NAND was installed before.
In an older guide from you you wrote something about "Download HTC EU/WWE - only for EU phones". What is that? Do I still need that? If so: there is no download with "WWE" in its name on HTC site...
