I tried Full Wipe
Related
I've built the launcher from source. I've only tested this on pre-beta3 and pre-beta4. From what I can tell it's safe to uninstall ADWlauncher and just run the Gingerbread Launcher.
Option 1
Download - Launcher2.apk
http://www.mediafire.com/?85gd6yew4yrsf0g
Update: Added some screenshots. Sorry if one of them looks like it's an overlay. I was using the screenshot tool from CM7 and it makes the black wallpaper look a bit transparent.
Option 2 (Full ROM)
Here's a working CWM ROM package. This is a full wipe as it's the entire pre-beta4 release with ADWLauncher removed and Launcher2 installed.
Instructions:
- Create a backup of current ROM or APPS
- Reboot into recovery and select "wipe data/factory reset"
- Then go to Advanced and "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
- Now you can install the ROM, "install zip from sdcard"
Download - pre-beta4 w/Launcher2
http://www.mediafire.com/?6z4b6c864k66nm2
Option 3 - Install via CWM
Download - AOSP Launcher CWM package
http://www.mediafire.com/?v1t2ci1062qkm3b
Note: Can be installed right after initial install of pre-beta4. (worked for me anyway)
Instructions:
- Create a backup of current ROM or APPS
- Reboot into recovery and select "wipe cache"
- Then go to Advanced and "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
- Now install the zip using the "install zip from sdcard"
I'd like to note that I am not part of the Atrix-dev-team and all thanks should go to them. They created the ROM and have worked hard to get it to this point. I only replaced the launcher.

If anyone is interested in running the standard Gingerbread launcher just download the below file. I don't have a CWM zip for it yet so you'll have to install it using the many other methods that are out there.

added 2 images, i'll add a few more in a bit. Trying to capture the list of applications is a little bit of a pain since it keeps looking like an overlay.

I installed it pushing it with adb. I'll put together some instructions and create a CWM package. I posted this kind of late for me last night so I didn't get a chance to finish that.

I hope you do soon, I really want to get the stock launcher on here!
You need to use root explore and put it in /system/app set permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot. You may also need to delete ADW boot into recovery clear cache and dalvik cache.

Thanks for posting that. I have a test CWM zip if anyone feels bold enough to try. I haven't had time to test it yet since I'm at work.
would this launcher have the 3d effect in the app drawer?

Why would I use that one when I already have my own?
Do we really need to wipe data and cache for it to work? Has anyone tested it without the wiping thing?

Only if you use the full CWM package. If you use adb to push the apk over you only need to clear your cache.

Doesn't have the 3D effect.
I just pulled a stupid, i installed the launcher after downloading through standard install. But home was still adwlauncher, so I decided to freeze adw. However then no launcher worked, so I figured I would restart. Now cm7 wont boot fully because I must have messed up and its not finding a launcher.
Is there a simple way to unfreeze launcher through console commands?
OR
Is there a way to simply re-install adwlauncher?
OR
Anything else you can think that could easily fix this?

Hey everyone,
I'm facing a problem which is kind of strange, today I tried installing an apk to my nexus 7 3g , the thing is I cannot press on the install button. I enabled install from unknown source already.
The strange thing is I can press on cancel but I cannot press on the install button ... shall i flash the stock again?
I'm on 4.2.1
Thanks
What is the app? Have you tried installing from Play or is this something you downloaded and are trying to side load? Incompatible apps won't install by design.
If the Install button doesn't respond, it means something is preventing the installation. The app may be incompatible or a file may be missing.
Go to setting security .. uncheck verify apps.... .Typing this from memory but i think that is where its at.... This is likely your issue.. Let us know..
Erica Renee
Did you look at all of the permissions it is requesting? It won't let you press install unless you've read all of the permissions.

I've been able to install my own apk files until two days ago. Now with the exact same apk that worked before, the Install button won't do anything at all. The Cancel button works fine. I've tried all the steps described in other posts for other devices but nothing works. I haven't changes anything on the tablet but the auto updated do occur.
Has anyone solved this problem yet?
Thanks.
I feel like you have to scroll to the bottom of the permissions list.

Tried searching on how to manually remove nav bar on stock 4.3(official) but didn't find anything, only found on stock 4.2.2 which doesn't work on 4.3. Pls kindly help me on how to do it,thanks in advance!
Use 'GMD Hide Soft Keys' or some other app you can find on play store. There's plenty o them.

You don't need an app, If you're rooted go into your system folder, then edit your build.prop and add the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 at the very bottom. Then save and reboot. Your softkeys will be gone. I recommend installing Ultimate Dynamic Navbar after that, because it allows you to set it up to where you can make the softkeys popup through swiping from the bottom edge, and then they go back into hiding.

did this as well but after adding this line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" it revert back, have you tried this?
some says this is not applicable in official 4.3
some info
-nexus 4 (rooted,all in stock 4.3)
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 works fine for me on stock jwr66v.
GMD hide bar works on rooted stock 4.3.
I'll try to edit the file as mentioned but if it works how to revert to stock? Placing 0 instead of 1? Can't remove the navbat while not knowing how to get it back.

Remove the line altogether. But before adding the line to remove the softkeys, make sure you have an alternate started, like LMT

Were you able to save the edited build.prop file? Make sure you have given the editor root access with rw permissions, then edit the build.prop and reboot phone

Will catch you after reboot

Phone Crashes After Adding Line to build.prop
I attempted to add the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" line to my build.prop using Root Explorer and Build Prop Editor and when I reboot my phone constantly shows a message saying that my systemui has stopped working. Then after my phone goes to sleep, it does not turn back on.
Any one know what could be causing this?
I am using PIE through an Xposed module but I keep getting the below message and was told that if I add this line the message will disappear.
Hi people,
My LG G2 theme settings suddenly went missing when I restarted my phone, all the themes settings are gone. Don't even have the button for the themes.(Normally will have the themes option when you go to the display settings) I can't even use the knock on normally as if it's not the default launcher.
Need some help please.
Thank you.

Menu >> reset app preferences
Menu >> reset default apps.
hope that helps.

This is generated by the optimus theme installation that updates part of your default basic theme.
The update of the theme generated an error because the theme is not compatible.
When you restart the phone the damaged theme is applied and this caused the issue you explain.
How to solve?
It's easy. Go to system settings > general > downloaded apps. Click on basic theme and choose uninstall updates, than restart the phone.
The problem is solved.
Hope it helps.
1. Download and Install quick panel manager ( attached )
2. Open the app and tap EDIT on the upper right corner
3. In the script add [MobileData;] after any toggle you want
( for example in the picture I added it after AutoRotate )
4. Tap save and done !
Note :
* You can edit any other toggle you want in the notification panel with this app. For example you can add mobile hostspot and other setting toggles.
* After new firmware update the app is always required. If you uninstall app the toggle will be removed after restarting phone. So use the app and then hide it .
Worked like a charm
How to do it manually without using this app?
I have root and want to do it manually without any apps.

You can use the app and then uninstall the app
the app is only required once and then you can uninstall it after you edit the status bar
I have searched alot and this is the only method that worked for me

Yes it works for me but if I want to restore factory defaults the toggles are removed.
I want to make displaying toggles perminant.
For hotpot the spelling is WifiHotspot;
If anyone needs the spelling for anything else I can get it. I had a snapshot of everything but lost it when my ROM crashed. You can open all toggles with an older version of gtidonetheapps. What's crazy is I'm running a stock ROM so don't have the Xposed installer but sometimes when I reboot my phone it will be there and when I open this app it runs as Xposed and shows all the toggles.
