hello!
I install the rom RC4b but there is not enough space to install applications
I try to partition my sd card but each time it does not work!
I try with Darktremor, and with Roma manager! but nothing
please help me to fix this:
thank you
I used clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2, as in the link below using the S-OFF guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290841
It partitioned the SD card no problem in recovery mode.
I did it with the PC using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907436
I still can not partition my card!
my htc legend is S-ON with the rom rc4b!
I tried with recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0 S-ON but the applications are installed on the internal memory!
and when I partitioned the card with the pc it is no longer recognized by the mobile

Have you actually partitioned the SD card? Was that process successful?
Ok, there is an issue with ogo's rom where there is not enough space left in the Rom space to flash dark tremours a2sd
Contained within the thread for ogos rom I have gone into great detail on how to get a2sd working, please read the posts, I can't remember which pages they are on, but I'm sure a search will find them for you.
Have you flashed dark tremours
A2sd beta 4? Have you downloaded a2sdgui from the market? Have you enabled a2sd in a2sdgui? If you are using ogo's gingerbread these are the things you must do, or it will not work.
sent from my legend, currently using extream legend fuseā¢
Maybe there is something wrong..
Maybe there is something wrong..Don't worry and check if there is some other trouble for your cell phone or contact with the seller.
I am unable to install my rom-NNS 1.0rc4b stuck on htc! only the rom extream fuse legend began!
and I can not unlock a HBOOT via HTCdev! the installation tells me it must have version 3.15.405.6
my HBOOT is 1.01.0000

yeah I hate to be a noob but ive been looking everywhere for this info as well. would be nice if it was in the sapphire hacking wiki...
i just rooted and installed cyanogenMod 3.9.11.2 yesterday and SD partition and Apps2Sd is the inly thing I cant figure out.......
use sdparted - see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543985
If your sd card is blank or if youve backed up its contents then you can just power on using home + power and you will see the option there to setup your partitions
Cant find it
Not with cyanogen recovery 1.4 I did it through g parted live cd with my screen flickering like crazy because i failed to notice the resolution icon...but any way I am appd to sd'd up
I used Amon_RA recovery image to partition my SD. Now my question is how do I know it is partitioned and know that my apps are automatically being installed there.
Also I had apps on my phone prior to partitioning and I noticed an option in the recovery to move apps to SD, is that all you need to do to move them?
Thanks guys
Partition
After u format it they will copy over automatically
1.4 Does not seem to have that option...

1.4 Does not seem to have that option, and since this is the first time I have used it, I have nothing to compare it to. I see " [Alt+F] repair ext filesystems", that can't be it, can it?
i had a very bad experience with nand backup/restore very recently and wanted to share it with the community and hear any feedback or suggestions where i eventually did wrong.
First of all i have to state i am a newbe on Android and have just started learning how to do some mods via the great help of this forum.
here is my case: I have partitioned my SD and moved all existing apps to the newly created partition via recovery mode. When I reboot no apps showed (i am not sure apps2sd is missing or what) therefore I decided to restore my earlier backup which went trhough succesfully but guess what ? ..... the phone did not reboot anymore and it arrived only up to the HTC flashing logo and got stuck there.
I had to find the stock rom again (sorry i forgot to mention i was using the stock rom) and reflash it from scratch which finally made it to work. thanks to shipped-roms.com !!!
My first guess is that for some reason the restore did not work and i got into a sort of loop mode because i tried moving all apps to SD before rebooting and this did not work properly.
does anyone have any idea of what could have been the problem ? I will provide any addiotional specifics if needed.

hi
app2sd has to be cooked into the rom and cannot be installed separately into the rom so have u used a rom with apps2sd in it im using Jacobs 1.5 which has apps2sd and i have done ext3 part & to my knowledge u need to do ext3 part for apps2sd to work
hope this helps
Actually you can install apps2sd after flashing a rom without. Just flash the darktremor skript you find in the forum. It depends on the rom if it's working fine or not. It worked for me with modaco r3.
Thank you for your help. As I stated originally i am using the original shipped rom and I have flashes a modified recovery where I can both partition the sd, do an ext2 to ext3 and eventually move all applications to the sd, however when I did it they all disappeared. Because all seemed to be available via the recovery menu is did it without checking more but I will need to do so since my Tattoo is already full.
I have not read around anyone saying that original Roms cannot install apps2sd. Am I wrong?

As I already said you can install the apps2sd script. But it is not installed by default. So if you want to use it you have to install it first. The rom can not detect your apps on the ext partition because you have not activated a2sd. You can find it here.

this is great thank you. just a last request: is it possible to remove and return all apps to the internal memory in case I want to restore as it is now ?
in addition does this work for all apps even if they are not setup to be running from SD card ?
sorry if i am asking so many questions but given my previous bad experience i want to make sure i am not going to screw up everytning again....
I don't know if there is a command in the a2sd script that can remove those files from your sd. Maybe a2sd remove in an adb shell, but I'm not sure. You can move any app to your sd with this script. The other thing is for froyo. I think you don't even need an ext partition on 2.2.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi,
I have downloaded an application named Apps2SD to my tattoo but the program seems to be not working. anyways, i did some search on the net and found out that you need 2 partitions on your sd card to do so. one partition fat32 one partition exFAT.
i couldnt partition my sd card... i cannot install apps on my sd card.. it installs only on the phone memory.. anyway to install apps on sd card? thanks.
I suggest you use a custom ROM that supports A2SD with no need for configuration. All you need is to partition your SD card in recovery (remember to backup all files first).
thanks for your reply. but i also wonder.. my tattoo is vodafone locked.. if this makes any difference?.. thanks again...
No it shouldn't

I don't have any clue what your actual question is supposed to mean, but if you can't install SD Android then it isn't anything to do with bad blocks. You need to give more information, such as which type of HD2 you have, what radio it has, do you have HSPL, what steps you've taken so far etc. Nobody can help without sufficient information.

I still don't quite understand what the actual issue is. Do ANY ROMs boot on your phone? The reason I ask is because you later contradict this original statement by saying something about A2SD moving your apps to the SD card.

A2SD does not install the ROM to NAND nor does it install NAND to SD. It install apps to your SD card, apps that you use on your phone.
NAND ROMs are flashed directly to your phone and completely remove Windows.
SD ROMS are ran from your SD card with your Windows still functioning when you want.

Have you installed MAGLDR and partitioned your internal memory by flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery(CWM)?? And Apps2SD doesnt install any rom. Its just used to transfer applications that run on the internal memory to the sd-ext.(partion of sd card)

I have a hd2 too.
magldr 1.13 .... clockwormod 5.0.2.6 ... Nexushd2 ics 4.0.4 - rom... a2SD-Script ...
200mb nand-partition..5mb cache-partition.. 1 gb ext4-partition and 400 mb swap-partition
I installed my rom witht "hd2 toolkit 4.2.0.1", that can be downloaded here on "xda-developers".
With this tookit you can do followed things:
- Start with a "full wipe" called "task 29" (I think this "task 29" is necessary for your hd2, because of your problems and bad issues you are reporting)
- then partition your nand-memory (for first install i recommen 200mb nand an 40 mb cache - after you recognized that it works, you can reduce cashe to 10 or 5 mb)
- install magldr
- install clockworkmod recovery
- install your rom

in magldr set the sd card source folder to point to the /nativesd folder on the sd card, and set the default boot mode to ad sd. (yes, even though its booting from the ext partition, it finds the initial files in the folder on the sd fat32 partition).

You have to download the updates from the xda.
And regarding the applications, do u want to install them on the sd-ext partition?

I suppose u can move them manually to the sd-card, or select the directory for installation as the sd-card ( i think this is done in the play store settings, i dont really remember ). But why do you want to install apps in the sd-card?
I suggest u make an ext partition of your sd card. WARNING!: this will wipe ur sd card clean, make a backup!.
The advantage of making a ext partition is that when u use roms with A2SD support, the ext partition on ur SD CARD acts as internal memory. So u have sort of increased ur internal memory
