Pdamatejam ROM have settings for hardware keys where you can change settings for hardware keys very easy (no need for cab files).... also in next release (coming very soon), Pdamatejam will be added some new surprise

Hi all,
Looks like my T-Mobile MDA Vario II is heading the way of the D-Pad/White Screen ribbon failure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321163) but as I've not yet got the white screen, and the problem is intermittent I wanted to ask a software question first before I broke out the screwdrivers.
Is there an easy way to change the soft key actions during a incoming call, so that I can click on the screen instead of the answer hardware key to answer a call reliably?
From reading around it may be that this is locked to the particular dialer as none of the key config tools seem to allow you to change these temporary soft key items?
At the moment I'm running Schaps 4.30 ROM which I've found very stable and feature packed, but when there's an incoming call the soft keys change to 'Silence' and 'Send Text' neither of which are as important to me as 'Answer' and 'Reject' which is what I'd like on there.
If it is a case that these soft keys can't be changed via the registry does anyone know of a WM6-6.1 ROM or Dialer that does have the options I need?
Many thanks in advance for any help!
I'm pretty sure my ROM does the 'Answer' and 'Reject' soft keys... I'm pretty sure that's the default too... If Schaps has something different, then I think he changed it away from the default to what he has...
Many thanks now on latest CRC 6.1 Stable
Hi CRC,
Many thanks for your quick reply, flashed to your latest WM 6.1 Stable ROM last night and can confirm Accept/Reject Softkeys on answer are present and work great!
ROM also feels smoking fast, so will leave it as is for a week or so and then might move to your development ROM to help give feedback and squash bugs.
Obviously your ROMs are very clean so looks like I'll start heading off to find all those Cabs like 6 button Home, Big Start Menu and Audio Manager that make life that little bit more thumb friendly.
Really appreciate the work you do getting the engine tuned so well! (You should get a small donation come through soon.)
Alan
(Now I can wait until IE opening whenever a new txt comes in finally drives me mad enough to crack the case and try to fix the ribbon cable!)

Yes i have this prob to...
i also cant tap the little speaker to get the volume. i did notice that in the buttons setting i have to extra "button" entries that i assume are the volume slider. can no-one help out?
edit: Well i am sure this is not the way you are meant to do it, but....
i installed the cab from here: http://freewareppc.com/download/utilities/setvolume.shtml and assigned one of the extra butons to the link it created in the start menu. the other was set to scroll down, but not sure if that matters or not. it seemd to work fine now. hope that help you Alexander-Vogt1
edit2:
not that great at fixing it actually. it only works if that app is running in the background well it's a temporary fix for now at least.
OK....

why don't you just hardreset
to get original settings back?
Olioaglio
looks like i'll have to, ut i would still like to use one of the HTC volume controls instead of the default WM one. But if this is going happen each time i install one...
OK so i have done a hard reset... all back to normal now. Is there any of the HTC volume control apps that i can use with WM 6.5 without breaking it?

Volumex maybe
Hey folks, I can't seem to find what I want..the new taskbar/soft keys included in the newer builds of WM 6.5, has for the most part, the circular buttons making it look uneven with the rest of the themes..is there any way to customize them to match? In bikeandestroyx's Demolition Rom, he has some slick keys, is there a way to extract that at all? Thanks for input.

I have been asking the same thing, but you might want to install the Dusk theme as it too has "slick keys"

lol... I have had the same problem and fixed it by changing the REgistry as indicated in tap #44 of the following link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
Hope this helps. Also other tweaks that are helpful.
I think the same thing that registry edit does is also available in cab format, in the 2nd post of THIS thread, 7th item on the list
bsb tweeks can
Yeah i also uses B&B tweaks to but I guess if you want a more precise touch you can use the reg editing.
ive used both the cab and bsbtweaks and I find bsb better. it adjusts the same reg entries, but different values.
Hi i recently Flashed Energy GTX Themed rom and i have to say it's very impressive, it looks very beautiful and runs very smoothly till now, i found only 3 issues at least for me
1- The volume keys r remapped to up/down instead of volume up/down so there's no volume control
2- I use the right soft key as "right soft key" not "today" and i have to assign it each time i restart
3- installed programs do not appear until i restart the device.
that's all but over all the ROM is amazing and there's a lot of work that has been put into it, I don't want to flash another rom so any help on solving any of these issues will be greatly appreciated specially the volume control thing

Don't you think this is a question you should ask in the EnergyROM thread instead of opening a new one?
