[Q] Twitter push notifications - Xperia Arc General

Hello!
I have a little problem with the Twitter app for my Xperia. I have configured the aplication so that push notifications reach me by the entries made on my account.
The problem is that they do not appear in the notification bar, and I get no sign of new mentions. I tried both uninstalling and reinstalling the program, mobile power cycle several times ... but no way.
A clue may be that in Settings => Accounts & Sync., I get an error synchronizing my Twitter contacts.
I read a tutorial, and removed the programs "sync.apk" and "syncwizard.apk". Can this have something to do? Is there any way to get official "sync.apk" file?
Sorry for the long story... And thanks!

Gmail not working

I don't know if this a problem with gmail its self or my phone but gmails keep getting stuck in out box and not sending and when deleting read emails they somehow reappear in my inbox as if I didn't delete them.
Sometimes I can't view all my emails, it says ( 1 ) for example but it won't show it no matter how many times i refresh. I have my gmail account synced with SE sync and I'm really puzzled to why this is happening. Anyone else got the same?
Iv tried doing a master reset twice this week on the phone ( x10i with latest fw r2ba26 rooted ) and this has not helped.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I had the same problems and I found out eventually what has been causing them.
I will try to explain, but keep in mind, my english are not perfect!
So, Gmail works via the Google Cloud, which means that you need to be constantly connected to the internet so that you can get notification and/or send mails. Under Settings>Synchronisation the Gmail should be ticked in order for that to work.
However, if you don't want to use the cloud thing (untick the Gmail option), you can still use Gmail.
But in that case, you need to manually ask Gmail to connect to the internet.
So, after composing a mail and hitting Send, you need to press the Menu button and choose Refresh. That way your mail will be sent.
The same applies when you delete an email. You need to hit Refresh for that too.
Also, after reading an email, you should hit Refresh in order for it to be marked are read.
As for the "unread" mails that don't show up, sometimes they "get stuck" in the cloud and not marked as read, after you have actually opened them.
If you open Gmail on your PC, or on your phone's browser, you will see the mail that hasn't been marked as read.
Hope I helped!
I understand what you are saying, your english is fine The thing is i do have gmail sync turned on within the settings and even if i keep pressing refresh nothing happens about the ones which i delete or have read, makes absolutly no differnce apart from anything i deleted will come up as unread again.
I have just reflashed my phone with SEUS and 'repaired' so we'll see if that helps.
Thanks for the quick reply by the way
While googling your issue, I came across this interesting discussion, take a look!
And to save you a little time from reading, someone said that this solved the problem:
I was final able to fix this by doing the following:
Settings>Applications>Manage applications>All>
Then scroll down to 'Gmail' and select it
Then select 'Clear Data'
When you next open Gmail it will re-sync your mail. It cleared up my problem. This wipes out all of your Gmail settings, so you will need to set up your ringtone and notification options if you had made any customizations.

Thanks very much I have just finished flashing and have set up everything how it was before. I shall do that now.
Thank god for titanium back up lol

Samsung e-maiil app says refreshing when opened but doesn't actually download mail?

Hi All
I've got the samsung e-mail app set up for my exchange active sync account and everything is working as it should. However, I have noticed that if you open the samsung e-mail application from a shortcut it says refreshing at the bottom of the screen but no mail is actually transferred until you go to menu and select refresh. It then says refreshing at the bottom of the screen and your new mail is downloaded.
Has anyone else noticed this and is there any way to fix this so that the mail will start downloading when you open the app (or knows what the app is doing when it says 'refreshing' and it isn't actually doing anything?)
Many thanks
Spud
PS apologies for the typo in the message header!
Mine doesn't even load even if I refresh it manually and that damn circle keeps circling!!! (Not always, but many times)
Op, the refreshing on start up is synching up your screen view with the little mail database on the phone (that is in turn updated by android auto sync process if auto sync is enabled).
The refresh in the menu is actually going to servers to grab new mail.

[Q] Main calender stops sync

I have been using Hyperdroid for a while, and all is well.
After reading some articles on the new features in ICS, I decided to try a new ROM: Tytungs NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V1.3.
I resized the partitions, wiped data and cache and installed the ROM (Magldr).
I'm very please with the new features of ICS and all seems to be working find except for my calendar sync: Right after I enter my account details I see a message "unfortunately calendar has stopped". I can still open the calendar app and see all related calenders (I sync 5 calendars) except for my own - the main calendar defined for my own google account. My calendar shows as synced and displayed, but none of the calendar entries show up on the phone.
I was using second factor authentication, so have disabled it before restarting the whole setup procedure. As you guessed the problem still occurs. I don't see why the other calenders still sync as expected, but my own doesn't.
I would really like to continue using ICS, but without a trusted calendar sync I don't see myself doing this.
I've searched the forums, but found no posts about this particular problem - does any know how to solve this??

No, not yet (I would like to try it later to reduce my data usage) first want to get this running.
Funny thing is that the other calendars I'm syncing are on my phone correctly.
One more interesting fact: if I add a new entry on the phone, it appears correctly in my gcal.
Can't see what's happening :$

[Q] Galaxy s4 i9505 gmail not pushing even thought sync is on

Anyone else running into this issue? I've got all auto syncing enabled, yet gmail will not push mails to me. I have to manually open gmail and refresh in order to get new mails. I've tried disabling sync and reenabling. I'm using the gmail app. Nothing special here... haven't even rooted or flashed another rom yet.. maybe that's my problem...
Thanks for any help.
i am having the same issue..when i enable sync , i get mail notifications for some time..then after few hours , i have to open gmail and refresh it to see new mails.

Yeah, I should have mentioned the same. There are times it works right after reenabling and running a 'test' mail.. it's just the important mails that don't come through
Same issue for me. All of a sudden my Gmail app won't push my mail. All sync on
I am also seeing the same.
Not sure if it's co-incidence but this happened after I flashed XXUBMEA and then, to demonstrate, enabled and all the Sammy stuff, including the Samsung Push thing - not a great demonstration (except the facebook apps join, which just kind of white screen sat there).
Incidently, freezing the Sammy bloat stuff removed the absurd lag (which was improved with the XXUBMEA flash).
Next step - remove Gmail from system and re-install.
Edit: Removing Gmail and then re-installing from Google Play worked. Notifications now coming through.
Now to wait for Apex update which will allow the unread count to return to the dock.

Lumia 620 - GMail sync error after Amber

Hi all,
First of all: I've searched for a while on google and all I found is relative to GDR1, not GDR2 (aka Amber).
After the Amber update I can't retrieve my messages from gmail. The account is setup correctly, the contacts and calendars sync with no issues but not the mail. Sometimes it stays "Syncing..." forever, sometimes I get an error message that says it's impossible to sync and sometimes it says it synced but no message is fetched (and I know there's new messages because I see them in webmail).
Does any one have this issues? Is there any way to get back my mail synced on my phone?
Have you tried removing and reconnecting the account? Does it still sync calendar and contacts, or does none of that work?
Hi,
Yes, I tried to remove the account and add it again. Tried to add the google account as a Microsoft Outlook and the error persists. I see on the web that uninstall skype should address this problem but didn't work too.
The contacts and calendars are all syncing well.
Just the e-mail doesn't work.
I'm a bit frustrated with this. The amber takes a few improvements to WP8, but my e-mail is very important to me.
Thank you for your kind reply!
The simplest next step is to try a hard reset - this will almost certainly fix things, but at the cost of all your data on the phone which isn't backed up. Best case, you have to wait a while while your apps re-download and so on, worst case, you discover there were files stored in some app that you really need and now can't access again.
I'll let you know if anything else I can think of seems plausible. One possibility is to reboot the phone between each change (for example, remove the account, reboot, add it again, possibly reboot again). That's probably not going to do it, though. Sorry I can't help more. I sounds like you've already done the research on this (thank you for doing that, by the way).
Thanks, man!
I feared it was necessary to do a hard reset, but facing the situation I believe it worse a try.
Just one more question: I should do it in the settings/aout/restore or by the combinations of keys at start up?
Should I allow phone to restore my settings at the first boot after reset?
Thank you very much again!
Ok, just did the hard reset by pressing the key combination on startup. My phone was back to the factory settings and after the initial set up was done the first thing I did was add my Google account.
Unfortunately (and it's very frustrating) the phone can't fetch my messages again, but I noted that if I perform a sync on another folder (or label) the messages are fetched correctly, what means that this problem is Inbox relative only.
It's a very cool way to start the weekend! :silly:
Update: I set up my google account as a MS Exchange account and it worked! All my e-mail (with instant notifications), contacts and calendars (after some time all my calendars was fetched) is now working. At least until google definitively shutdown the google sync service.
