ciwrl developers:
For those of you who are going to sit and wonder if your device will make the cut, here are two general requirements that must be satisfied:
1) Phone must have more than 256mb RAM
2) Phone must contain a decent gpu
Now, if your phone doesnt meet those, its not to say you will never get ICS; but it does mean your device will not be one of the first with CM9 (and your wait will likely be much much longer, if ever)
Here now is the list i include the phone that wont get update based on specs is.

FYI if you want to buy phones if you live in USA avoid buying Metro PCS phones,Virgin and Boost mobile. Because, their phones 85% of them wont get the next update because their ram are from 192 ram with internal storage from 75 to 125 mb like Google g1 specs from 2008 but more internal. Meaning you wont get an update because cyanogenmod wont support specs like this anymore.
Buy T-mobile,Sprint,Verizon and A&tt Phones with at least 512 MB of RAM and in my opinion internal storages of at least 400 mb and up.
thanks for the info/linked info!
No problem just dislike people asking dumb question this should clear any question about our phones or any phone with the power to get android 4.0 on the hacking world.
Any new update on other phone with manufacture update i will update the list as they keep confirming the update on supporting phones..

Motorola droid lose support for android 4.0 os
Motorola droid wont get support for android 4.0 os ice cream sandwich as cyanogenmod 9.
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/blog/cm9-progress-update
Based on CM decision this goes without saying that phones from 2009 and 2008 for google g1 wont get update from cm 9 unless their sdk build.
Htc hero
htc magic
Mytouch 3g

motorola cliq

Keyboard seem to be working also.

Seem with android developers from Xda behind helping us G2/Desire Z owner with port of desire s part to make the ICS experience better.

I'm impressed by the effort you put into this, thank you.
correction: The port from the desire s is based on aosp build and not the sdk, so it might just be borderline usable.
No problem i wish the g2 was advance as galaxy s i have it and android 4.0 os is almost working with every quirk expect video recording im post a video later on.
I think in the long run G2 will largely catch up with Galaxy S. It all depends on developer interest and (spare) hardware availbility.

Although the G2 is a great device, it will never catch-up to the galaxy s line. It's just not physically possible.
i ran ICS on my Tmo G2 last night. It's very smooth, very fluid, very fast. This was a beta build, of course some hardware isn't working yet.. but it will.
Also, ICS is awesome. a w e s o m e !
Nice to hear that G2/DZ already has the beta and great work is being done to get a full version.
I would wait for the full version to release before I put that on my DZ. So far I'm enjoying the great work of Elitemod 244, its the fastest ROM that I've ever tried.
Verizon has recentlly published a list of all their phones that will be recieving an official OTA ICS update.
Code:
[b]HTC:[/b]
HTC ThunderBolt™
DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
HTC Rhyme™
HTC Rezound™
[b]Motorola:[/b]
Motorola XOOM
DROID BIONIC™
DROID RAZR™
DROID RAZR™ MAXX™
DROID 4 DROID
DROID XYBOARD 8.2
DROID XYBOARD 10.1
[b]Samsung:[/b]
Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 7.7
[b]LG:[/b]
Spectrum™ by LG
As you can see, the Play is absent from this list.
If theres any hope for ICS on the R800x, its in Sony's hands now.
Source: http://news.verizonwireless.com/news/2012/03/bl2012-03-06.html
Not getting OTA doesn't mean not getting updated
Thats just the "currently scheduled" list. Being that Sony doesn't have or have a date yet on when the regular non-verizon PLAY will be updated the fact its not on the list isn't surprising.
Theres still hope, although lets be honest... it is verizon.
The big push on this list from what a read was on 4g devices other then the3 incredible 2 but right now it seems they are focusing on their 4g lineup, but check they sony site because they will probably just push it out on the site
i agree, motorola and sony haven't finalized their list of phones getting it so verizon can't be final on it either...
of course my house me and the wife just had to get two phones that don't get the lime light...my xplay and her droid x2...
both are awesome phones and just waiting for ISC to unlock all potential!
Hi to all.
First of all I would like to say sorry to any user I may of offended I did not mean.
Now to a more positive note!
I don't know how many user have the RAZR I or who them users are!
So let get to know the users here and introduce ourselves to this forum!
I'm dj_mol3y_x8 and as you can possibly tell from my previous post I have had some bad times with android starting with a x8(sony ericsson) left on 2.1 so started my experience of custom roms and kernel of which im very grateful to xda and its dev's BIG THANKS.
And from the I started to mod themes. Then move to roms and now my x8 has s3 4.0.4 rom/mod by me and my team mate. So then I got a galaxy Ace (samsung)
And that got 1 update so again me and some other users rebuilt the stock gb os to the look of jb
And now I have my RAZR I and I very happy with it despite my moaning. Once again sorry for that. And from now on you will see a much more positive mol3y.
I hope we can get to know each other a build a good, happy, spam & troll free community which I'm sure will have some good development and developers
All the best

Welcome dude!
Well, I'm Vistaus. I started out with some stupid phones (including an old Motorola), then got a Motorola Razr V6 Maxx in 2007 which is still rocking here as a backup phone! Then I moved to a stupid LG Renoir smartphone in 2009, then to an Sony Ericsson Satio in 2010 and then moved to Android to an HTC Desire in 2010. That one broke after a few months and repair was taking too long so I moved to a Motorola Milestone XT720 by the end of 2010. That one I rocked until summer 2011 when I switched to an HP Pre 3 with webOS. But earlier this year there were firmware problems in The Netherlands making it impossible to call with it and with no updates left I switched back to my Motorola V6 Maxx and finally after summer this year I bought the newly released Motorola Razr i
I also have had a Motorola Xoom in 2011. Didn't like it so my parents use it now. I then bought an HP Touchpad in 2011 and am still rocking it, partly thanks to the community (love webOS!).
I also have had multiple custom ROMS from XDA on my XT720 back in the day and on the Xoom so I'm an experienced tester with it.
Am loving my Razr i and hopefully JB comes soon to our phone!

Well, I'll give this a go then. Hi guys, I'm paco.
I started with a bunch of crappy phones here in Brazil! Then in 2010 I moved to a xperia x10 mini that nearly drove myself crazy! I started to Get to know android a bit And started working with custom roms... After a year thrashing that phone, I moved on to a Motorola Milestone 2 (A953) And liked it for a while. Then at the middle of this year, that phone went to the shop and motorola never gave it back
After I gave up on motorola giving my phone back (and sueing them of course) I bought a xt860, that I hated since no custom rom can be fully done for it due to the locked bootloader. There are some really good devs for this phone now and slowly but surely something is coming together! Now I am anxiously waiting for my razr ia to arrive, So I Thought I could start to Get to know the community and offer myself as a tester!

Hello to all, from Brazil!
HTC Touch, Sony Ericsson C905, Nokia N8, HTC Titan, RAZR i.
Those are my last phones I can remember of. I used to be a Windows Phone fanboy until I bought this amazing android phone. I can do so much more than I used to with the Titan.
I hope this community gets really strong and also jelly bean comes quickly!

i'm from Belarus.
Just got my RAZR i, and i totally love it. My previous devices was: HTC Dream, HTC Legend, Samsung Omnia 7, iPhone 4s, Samsung Galaxy Nexus (this one the most amazing!!) and now RAZR i...
Don't know, sometimes I'm dreaming about HD MAXX because of its size and back (fully kevlar looks "strong" and perfect for me) maybe will switch to soon. Will see
And now i'm happy with razr i, i hope our community will grow!
We have to use our devices and feel ourselves happy ^^
Hi,
I'm Ed from the not so sunny UK!
This is my 3rd Android phone, previously having the HTC Hero (aka G2) and the Samsung Nexus S.
Really like the size, feel and battery life of the Razr i however I did take a bit of backwards step as my Nexus S had jelly bean so I'm looking forward to that update (soon hopefully)
Both previous phones were rooted and a loads of different ROMS tried etc however I have left the razr i rooted for now as can't see much advantage in rooting it yet.
Hi, I'm Miles from the UK. Live in Scotland but originally from the north of England.
This is my fifth Android phone (Motorola Milestone -> HTC Desire Z -> Motorola DEFY -> Motorola XT910 RAZR) and it's not yet in my sticky paws as I only ordered it yesterday.
I was really looking forward to the Nexus 4, but reading about the poor battery life and glass back, made me wonder if it was the right move. Then the launch failure made me think twice. Ironically it was looking at Nexus 4 benchmarks that drew me to the RAZR i, which seemed to have good performance and great battery life. The size was the clincher, as I find my RAZR XT910 just a little too big in the hand and the pocket, but the RAZRi has the same screen, in a smaller package.
Look forward to the Jelly Bean upgrade, but I'm not going to sweat, as ICS seems pretty good with Moto's minimal skin.

My Name is stated above my Avatar and I'm Crackflasher / Mod from Germany.
I started flashing with the S8500 (Bada) and moved over to the OG RazR after i was getting bored. I still run the RazR beside the RazR I, because I love to Crackflash Roms. Let's hope we will get some nice stuff for this Phone, too.
Anyway, if you brick, just ask for help. It's always nice to bring an Phone back to life

Hi,
My name is Ivan, I'm from Slovenia. My previous phones are Motorola MPX200, Samsung Omnia 2, Motorola Defy and Motorola Defy+. Currently I own tablet Toshiba Thrive and Motorola Razr I. As you can see I'm a big fan of Motorola because it was always phone company with broad specter of product and you can really rely on its hardware and system. It has the most advantage development too. I'm not a developer though so unfortunately you can't expect any help regarding system issues from me. I'm more on applications side and I was always trying to get the most possible from every phone. I hope that I can be useful in this forum.
So I am making this in the hopes that others will be able to port things faster without doing a ton of background and just getting into it
ROM's from the following devices can be ported to the shift
HTC EVO 4G
HTC EVO 3D
HTC Desire Z and T-Mobile 2
Samsung Galaxy Nexus S
Galaxy Nexus
Nook tablet (needs service edits)
LG Optimus Black
Huawei u8818
I know that I am missing A LOT, so please feel free to suggest any other devices that can be ported from!
Evo, galaxy nexus, nook tablet but needs service edits, Evo 3d cant think of anymore

The single most important thing for me when it comes to ports is screen resolution. I mean similar hardware will make it easier, but 9 times out of ten if the resolution is the same as ours the hardware is close enough not to make much of a difference. Mokee was ported from a ZTE device and optimus black, the Miui JB was from the Desire Z build, Shendu OS based off of Huawei u8818.
EVO 4G is probably the easiest, because it is the most similar. A good place to start for first time porters.
