[Q] Can I root after ICS - Eee Pad Transformer General

I removed root and went back to stock a couple of weeks ago getting ready for the ICS update. I have not reset my device and updated to ICS. Can I now root using the same method I used before. I used the Brk root toolkit and it worked great for rooting and unrooting.
If I cannot use that is there something new I should use?
Thanks
Brandon

Vipremod works like a champ

Thanks everyone that worked great.
Can this also be used to root a TF with a B90 serial number?
I got one for my son from best buy and black friday and he would like to root it now that he has ICS.

Same for me on a BCOKAS serial TF101, which I believe is newer than b90.

[Q] EVO 4G Root

Are there any roots out there that are current and will work with the new updates that are on my phone. All the roots I have looked at were from mid-summer 2010.
I want to root my EVO, but don't want to end up with a brick.
Thanks!
Just rooted my wifes with all of the updates using the one-click unrevoked and it worked flawlessly.
Go to unrevoked.com and download the latest for the evo

i have read that this doesnt work with 2.2 hboot
ok, there are three working root methods that all work for the newest update.
1: a one click method known as unrevoked. www.unrevoked.com. it doesnt teach you anything, just roots. and if i were you, i'd try and learn something bcuz you only have one post. works best on mac, but also on pc.
2: a sorta-one-click method by xhausx. it is just a scripted version of #3. sorta teaches you. works most of the time. very good. xhausx is very responsive and helpful to problems. only for pc.
3: the method linked in my sig. meant for pc but can work for mac with some slight modifications. manual root method. teaches you everythign you need to know. if you get stuck, people (including me) will help you through.
hope this helps.
and i can tell u r new here w/ ur one post, but try searching next time. either using google or the built in search feature.

Rooting With SuperOneClick

I got bored today alongside programming and playing some pool. a friend of mine wanted their Droid 2 rooted and I took the task.
With a shot in the dark I downloaded the driver's and made sure USB debugging was there when plugged into my laptop.
I'm not too familiar with the Droid 2 as I develop on the captivate, the different methods of rooting; device specification.
I used SuperOneClick and had no problems at all, might not be the right place but hey I try my best to inform.

Big thanks to CLShortFuse for all the work.
Thanks again for helping out and, "shooting a hole through the wall," instead of the quick root.

I'm not 100% sure if the Droid 2 has gotten the Gingerbread update officially, if your on a custom rom don't think you need this, if it's definitely a Droid 2 it should work completely fine.
We have got the GB official update and this won't work. There is currently only one way to root GB.

Ah, well I'd have to use one of my friends Droid 2 to fully test, either way one could always use this to root when flashing back to stock if needed be, thanks again for all the input

I can confirm this worked on my GS2 running stock KG5 and it took 3mins max
Installed Orbot and Pandora right after (to play pandora outside the US) and it worked like a charm.
I also loved the starcraft references.
Thanks for posting it here, I would've probably missed it otherwise.
Now I wonder if it would work on my N1
Edit: It took literally 35secs to root my N1 running 2.3.6 oO
Worked fine on my SGS2 2.3.3
How does this effect warranty, as you are no longer flashing any kernels or firmware if you are using a stock firmware?
I assume you will not need a jig any more after rooting either.
To late for me as I have already routed, but it would be interesting to know for future rooting.

Hang on, so I don't have to go through all the kernals Odin stuff to root, and I can just run this script on a stock S2 to root it?!?!
Thanx for the program. This works great.

you might check the link i post on doomlord method, he has included a unrooting scrip,, as for warranty i think you should be fine, i think you might not lost warranty once you run unrooting scrip,,, since it suppose to bring back your phone as it was before routing whit out the annoying issue of flashing the stock ROM you need...
Great! It worked like a charm! Not intending to Custom Rom just yet, removed all the system bloatware + carrier/samsung apps, ran SetCPU and reinstalled my JuiceDefender Ultimate!
Now the overnight battery drain is gone, 100% at 12AM, 95% at 6.30AM. My JuiceDefender is set to advanced settings though, with Data turned off on lock/unlock only activating once in 30 Minutes to check for data and to trigger on when certain apps are launched!
Can anyone enlighten me if Cyanogen's Stable Rom will increase my battery life and work as well as stock in terms of app friendliness and usability?

I don't think anyone has tried rooting 3.2 with a nap yet, maybe that will work. Put it to sleep, then root it lol.
If anyone had found a one click root for 3.2, you can bet you'd see multiple threads on it knowing the monkeys around here

No they have not to answer your question
I'm assuming you don't want to do the downgrade process to root your tab then?
Acer a500 (rom) Civato Mix
HTC Inspire (rom) Rcmix 3.3 sense 3.5
No nap root method.but there is a downgrade/install rooted 3.2.
Naps are fun when taken with the correct person root Not required.

I did the downgrade and root method and didn't even lose data. It's seriously easy. Follow the instructions.
Link to downgrade
I can't seem to find the instructions. Thought they were stickied to main page but don't see them. I have 3.2 and would like to either downgrade and load rooted 3.2 or even just downgrade so I can root 3.1 and use that again.

Understatement of the century there. Takes about twenty minutes, including the time it takes to search the dev forum using the phrase "downgrade 3.2". You don't even need a PC, you can do it all using the tablet.
@ingrouille, it's in the development forum:

Then I would recomend [ROM] Rooted Stock HC 3.2 US Rom for CWM only (5-oct-11)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290318
It's a stock rom that is already rooted, flashed through CWM.
Chad
Many thanks.
ugh, can't seem to revert. tried method two a multitude of times but I get the android logo with the yield/exclamation point each time.
wonder whats going on. checked formatting, the zip itself, the card is recognized by the tab, hmmm. any ideas? I've seen a few other people are having this issue also.

It looks like that's an A500 ROM, correct? I'd like to keep the "4G" portion enabled, so I don't think that will work for me. Drat.
Have you ever tried to search the forums?
This way works fine for the stock 3.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307539
I used it to root my friend's A500 last week.

So... you basically cooked up your own rom and added SU to it.
To anyone else who needs to root just download kekinash's stock rom with superuser, it's the exact same thing as this without the steps just flash and you have rooted 3.2.
And you are in a small group of people that have SD card issues, I've owned 2 Iconia a500's and neither had a single SD issue.
It wasn't me
It was timmyDean who added root for stock 3.2. he described how to get root in adb shell only (the very first post in the thread I posted)
The way to add superuser for applications was described by chrishohl on the 3rd page of the same thread
Following his how-to one can get the rooted stock 3.2 without downgrade.

Nope, I haven't any issues with SD card, the only goal for now is 3G USB modem kernel modules. I haven't find any modules for the stock 3.2 kernel version.
Those for 3.1 failed to load with insmod since they had been built for another kernel version.
