So I know there are AOKP themes out there, but idk if theyre compatible with Rick S AOKP 25... Does anyone know if any of them are compatible??? I really want to try the Black Exodus theme, but idk if itll work or not... And i dont have odin with me right now....
When you theme with a theme from an older ROM, most of the time it will only break visual aspects that were in the new version. So let's say you flashed the transparent notification bar for ths 6.0. You would lose the aokp notification bay and have the touchwiz looking one from ths.. That is an extreme scenario, and i don't suggest doing it. But the most i have experienced from flashing themes from older versions was visual reversions of that prior ROM, and some of the things added sense that earlier ROM were broke. Like if ROM had a flashlight mod on lockscreen, but theme from earlier rom did not.
But no matter what, nandroid, and wait till odin is handy
Only you can take responsibility for breaking you're phone

Please don't flash any AOKP themes from the Galaxy Nexus section - the themes are designed for the larger, HD resolution screens of the Gnex and will not be compatible with the Fascinate.

Oh damn, was he talking about themes for another phone! ?
i thought he was just talking fascinate themes for older versions. Guess i did not expect that type of crazy.
Never never never ever flash ANYTHING from other phones, or anything marked "telus".
Edit:

We need more well developed AOSP ROMs that aren't completely CM7 based.
Whatever ave you try I'll roll with you dude your roms are bomb......Keep up the good work.
A little bit more tweaking on the EVOlvedAndroid rom. Just to make things a little better. But honestly, this Rom is great. Use this as my daily driver. Good battery life. But I say keep updated this particular Rom. It is worth it to download. Imo

I've been using the CM9 Kangs (found in this thread) and I was poking around the forums and stumbled upon this:

So I want to try and learn how ROMs work. Or maybe that's a little bit too much to start with, maybe mods and hacks and stuff. Is there any tutorials on how to start anything that has to do with development that someone has actually used and learned from and worked with him that you can point me out to? Or at least can someone tell me where I should start to be able to learn all that I need to know?
I've done some theming and editing .xml files and decompliling and stuff so its not that I don't know anything, just don't know enough.

Yes young padawan. You have much to learn in the ways of the force.
No disrespect to the OP or anyone else, but if you have to ask how then you aren't ready.
Do some research: take apart zips, find out how things work. Learn about Android as a whole (helps to also learn how 'nix) works also, Android is of course based largely on it), and most importantly trial and error.
The force is strong in this one, I can feel it. But he must complete the trials in order to fully understand the true nature of the force.

Well maybe I should be searching and doing things on my own but that's what I did when I started to theme a little bit and it worked out well. But I started by seeing one of travis' tutorials and with the help of shane with a lot of things.
So basically I need some help that's all.
And I too see that CM7/9, AOKP and all those are the same. Especially the 2 versions of MIUI. So I would like to start my own thing kind of like sence and blur. Sence would be something I would be interested in doing since I loved my htc phones before this one, but since its already started I will try and work on something else.
Ill pm you xboxfanj and we'll see how I can start working on it. And thanks for your offer =).

AOKP/CNA/Gummy is kinda like Sbrissen mod for touchwiz gingerbread roms on steroids. Like xbox said, the AOSP thing has been done to death on ICS. All we're getting at this point is some pointless fragmentation between the roms.
UBER/Biggorn/Big Goron or whatever name your using these days , I wish you luck with that endeavor. I tried to do my own for a couple months and realized that I was updating it every other day thanks to what was getting merged in on the other roms. Too much of a PITA for me so I went back to theming.

According to https://plus.google.com/107979589566958860409/posts/8P9mVptPMF7 PA is coming to our HTC Ones!
I used this rom on my Nexus 4 and I loved it! As I switched to the One due to the lack of LTE on the N4,
I started missing those cool features such as the custom dpi, the pie and most of all Halo! I know there is
P.A.Cman rom, but Halo is not implemented yet..
You guys should definitivly give it a try when it's released. It's simply amazing!

Despise and have no use for Halo personally, but I loved PA on my N4. PIE was the best thing ever, only thing that made my N4 tolerable.
That said I don't see myself wanting to use pie now that I have a phone that has buttons again, though I most certainly will give it a whirl.

I do love Sense 5 but tbh, I never use the features that it offers over AOSP and I always find that AOSP has WAY more productive features on the custom ROM side then Sense ever will, obviously its opinionated and as I said Sense 5 is awesome! But I prefer AOSP ROM's just due to simple things like Halo or even just the stock messaging app and stuff.

I like Sense 5, but the one thing that stops me from using it is that it doesn't support landscape on the desktop. Super aggrivating. The apps that will allow you to force landscape aren't good at all for Sense either.
