This installation can be used for the majority of custom ROM installations.
If a Dev does not explain the flashing of a ROM process properly ask him to put this in the description if this worked for you.
(it does work for you but some roms such as miui are installed differently)

Hi Everyone first post since owning my i9000 since it came out and have followed xda since then. I would like to thank all the devs for everything they have done for this phone as the amount of improvements we have seen.. have been nothing short of brilliant... many thanks.
I am currently running aokp and it's excellent and also have cwm backups of other Roms on the phone. These are all Mtd Roms.
I have looked all over xda and it seems to me that we could convert the many good gingerbread roms to run in the new MTD partiton without reverting back to odin and wiping the phone only to have to do it all over again if we want try the many good custom and stock gingerbread Roms.
The flexability we would all gain from being able to flash other Roms without reverting back to odin would be great for everybody ... but there isn't a kernel to do this unfortunately.. I know I've looked back to the begining of all of the threads and can't find one ... or make one.
I have researched how these roms could be converted to run in the MTD partition and have a good idea how to pack them to run, I am not a rom chef or a dev so it would be just a re-pack. But the rom chefs would do this themselves if we had a touchwiz-MTD kernel made for this task.
I will not show how you go about re-packing a rom to run cause everyone would
try it without the necessary kernel and probably mess up their phone .. so best not.
Could we have one last missing -link kernel just to square the circle and run a stock samsung gingerbread rom in the MTD Partition... we would the be able to keep these as cwm backups and switch to any rom we like.
One last plea for the end of life galaxy S . . Great Phone
Who are all expecting CUSTOM ROM like CM?
Who needs custom ROM???
Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, install SuperSU and root....
Then install Xposed framework and GravityBox module and let the magic begin...
Don't forget to create a nandroid backup beforehand....
Get adventurous and try various other modules...
Hope this helps... :good:
Devs are doing his job. Stop create threads like this and just be patiente. Nobody have the obligation to do it.
We need custom ROMS, but we have already many things to play with it for Moto E.
We are waiting for developers to introduces custom ROM.
Lately I'm undecided if should I keep StockROM or a Custom ROM...
What can you tell me...?
I can recommend you this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/development/rom-galaxy-s3-neo-stock-firmware-t2975102
Make a backup of your stock rom and try some for yourself. You might never go back. You could also try n1kolaa rom and kernel or RR.
I tried various custom ROMs, but nothing can beat my precious Touchwiz.
Now I'm at stock ROM with root and xposed installed. With Xposed you can get almost anything you can think about!!
Have fun
I am planning to build my own custom stock ROM, I need help with a few things..!
1)I want to make a prerooted deodexed stock ROM - So my question is from Base ROM of the latest new build, how and where do i find that. I have an idea of how to deodex the ROM, but suggestions are welcomed. Also, if I make a new ROM, from fully stock, how do i make it prerooted with no bugs at all using the latest TWRP recovery.
a) SO, according to my thinking..I will obviously need a fully stock Marshmallow ROM with the latest build, I will root it and then copy the whole ROM to my folder and edit from that? Is that what has to be done? If no..plz assist.
2)I like to use fonts - so I want my ROM to have it pre-installed with a beautiful font
3)Battery tweak - I need some help in building a build.prop file,
4)Performance - I need to make this ROM as stable as it is stock, so i really don't mind to make the performance a little faster.
5)I wanted to also install some good theme pre-installed in my ROM, so would it be possible? if yes how to do it.
I have a basic idea on how to build a ROM, i just need someone to help me with this and whoever can help, will definitely get all the credits
a) we can definitely work together and keep building this ROM for more performance.
b)We will also try to update it with the latest builds as and when required.
SO, someone who is really willing to help are all welcomed
Hoping someone can help me build a ROM for our beloved Moto X play.

Hello, i have been using pixel expirience room for a quite some time now I also installed stormbreaker kernel. However i would like to go back to stock rom. Miflash tool
Well, you can flash stock rom in your custom recovery like any other rom (from what i remember your custom recovery will be replaced by the xiaomi stock one) but i recommend you to flash xiaomi.eu rom, its like stock but better... (and you will not lose your custom recovery), and lastly i don't really recommend a miui based roms, if you want a lightweight rom i can recommend POSP.
P.S. When you flash any rom it doesn't matter what kernel where you using since you replacing whole system that have it's own kernel...
