How to go back to stock rom ? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hello, i have been using pixel expirience room for a quite some time now I also installed stormbreaker kernel. However i would like to go back to stock rom. Im not sure what do to, do i delete everything and just flash miui or there is somthing else to do first ? keep in mind storbreaker kernel is installed on my phone.

Miflash tool

Well, you can flash stock rom in your custom recovery like any other rom (from what i remember your custom recovery will be replaced by the xiaomi stock one) but i recommend you to flash xiaomi.eu rom, its like stock but better... (and you will not lose your custom recovery), and lastly i don't really recommend a miui based roms, if you want a lightweight rom i can recommend POSP.
P.S. When you flash any rom it doesn't matter what kernel where you using since you replacing whole system that have it's own kernel...

what do people mean when they say " dirty flash the original rom " kernel related Q
Hi.
i tried the kernels available and none of them i liked as none of them were very smooth. to be honest the only reason i even wanted to try to kernels because i wanted to use Kcal " and i still do "
but how do i flash the stock kernel to my oneplus two ? i need to install the original kernel.
thanks
Dirty flashing means without wiping the DATA partition.
The stock rom includes the stock Kernel, thats why you dirty flash the stock rom when you want to revert back to stock kernel.
You can flash the ROM the same way you flash the kernels

First time flashing a kernel, some quick questions

Hi everyone
I have a rooted stock Galaxy S4 I9505 (4.4.2) and TWRP installed. For the last few weeks, my phone had a lot of kernel wakelocks which I couldn't stop. This could be fixed by installing a new kernel, right? I wanted to try that anyway.
I think I read the relevant FAQs, but this is my first time flashing a kernel, so just to be sure I have a few questions:
Does anyone have experience with the KT-GSG4 kernel? Do all custom kernels have the basic functions of stock kernels (plus some features), or will I lose some functionality?
Can I just flash the kernel, without changing the stock rom and keeping my files/settings etc.? If I do something wrong, can I just restore via nandroid backup?
Do I just have to go into TWRP recovery, click install, choose the kernel zip file, install it, wipe caches and reboot?
Thanks a lot!
Ktoonsez is a great kernel dev. So the kernel should be fine.
A custom kernel generally offers more customizability. I don't know what features you might from stock kernel you might lose.
If the kernel is for touchwiz, then you can probably flash it on a touchwiz rom. Just make sure it is for the same android version.
I haven't flashed any kernels on a stock touchwiz rom so I can't tell you the flash procedure. It may be different from custom roms due to knox and other stuff.

Stock or Custom ROM?

Lately I'm undecided if should I keep StockROM or a Custom ROM...
What can you tell me...?
I can recommend you this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/development/rom-galaxy-s3-neo-stock-firmware-t2975102
Make a backup of your stock rom and try some for yourself. You might never go back. You could also try n1kolaa rom and kernel or RR.
I tried various custom ROMs, but nothing can beat my precious Touchwiz.
Now I'm at stock ROM with root and xposed installed. With Xposed you can get almost anything you can think about!!
Have fun

My Galaxy Note 4 (N910C) is not turning on!

Hi xda friends, I need your help.
I was rooted and running a custom marshmallow rom (resurrection remix was called) but it was full of bugs so I decided to go back to stock. I flashed a 5.1.1 firmware and it never turned on again. It is stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" message. I tried again and again, I wiped everything, I also tried this with kies "firmware upgrade and initialization" but nothing changed. Please tell me what can I do? I'm desperate!
Never flash a stock ROM with flashing the bootloader first when coming from them AOSP based ROMs. So wipe everything first, then flash bootloader, then flash a stock based custom ROM, you should be okay. After that you can flash a stock ROM via Odin, but you need to flash a stock based bootloader first. ROMs like Simple or Nameless are stock based FYI.
And as a friendly advice, don't flash them AOSP based ROMs unless you are keen to have a buggy phone.

Thank you very much. I'm gonna try it and then I'll tell you if it worked.

[Q] Stock or Custom Rom?

I'm actually using 8.0 stock rom, but I was thinking to install an custom rom but I don't know, what did you guys think is better? In terms of battery, performance, gaming, etc...
In case you prefer a custom rom, which one do you recommend?
I am on Stock (been using Stock+Franco kernel but decided to go back to completely stock). If you want best battery life then install kernel like Franco or Mint. If you want more customization then consider using Custom ROM. Good custom ROMS are AEX and RR. Maybe theres more but i didn't bother checking it out since i'm on stock.
