Anyway? My power button almost stuck inside n i dunwan press it too much. Use taptap app in my droid razr but xoom doesnt have the proximity sensor
maybe you need hardware modification...
if you similiar with pcb layout.
or just buy from ebay for $35.
i m not good in hardware modification.. =(
cant i just install something so that i can wake it up with volume keys / any other sensors?
some roms (like the CM9-Rom for the wifi-xoom) supposedly let you unlock your xoom with the volume-rocker.
Apart from that, you can wake your xoom with a bluetooth-mouse, a bt-keyboard might work just as well (and maybe usb-mice/keyboards too)...
@hardware modification: Are the PCBs for the power-button available anywhere? from the ifixit teardown it seems rather easy to access that pcb, but I can't find any shop that sells one.
The widget locker app has the option to use the volume keys to wake. I found strangely, it works sporadically at first, but works pretty well after awhile...
Link to market?
You can try casesensor, cover genie , apps that open the screen with lightsensor but they don't work in dark

Widget Locker from Teslacoil software will allow that like it was said. Just search widget locker in the market. You can't miss it. And its the best lock screen. Put Widgets or whatever you want on your lock screen.

I was talking about the little pcb that houses the power button and has the terminal for the volume-button-assembly, not the "mainboard" with all the processors, memory, etc. on it. I'd suppose that it shouldn't be THAT expensive...
(image on ifixit.com I'm talking about the board with 326-0 written on it)

My dear old Touch HD just fubared on me, or to be more precise, the button that controlls the power on/off and screen on/off is messy and is kind of pressed at all times which makes the mobile useless :/
So I wonder if anyone wants it or atleast the two batteries I have for it? One of the batteries is a Momax 1500mAh (which seems worse than the standard batteri Im afraid)
If so lemme know
Post the price for parts i guess.

Just a query, have you tried to pull the power on/off button back using tweezers?
I'm from the UK (if that matters.. No idea)
I'll take the batteries, and any spare screen protectors or cases you have. Just bought an HD, and lookin' to pimp it.
If you have one of those desk chargers for batteries, that'd be cool too.

Hi, you can help me! i would need the screen panel and the motherboard part where is the SIM...you can really send to me?
I am amazed at how little turned up when searching for a replacement led (camera flash) for this phone. Heh, minus less concise searches like HTC g2 flash.
So anyways, it's dead. I'd like to replace it, any idea where I can get the part? Seems like finding the part will be harder than replacing it. Yikes.
Btw.. my flash had been occasionally turning a light bluish-purple color, akin to turning up the color temp prior to this. It then went out like a light bulb.. turn on for a split second... (then obviously off) only to never turn on again. Just a heads up for anyone noticing the same behavior.. your time with led flash is almost up..
Why do I get the feeling that this is a post that I'll see go down seven pages while **** like 'can I has huneycrumb?' flys past?
My flash went out a few months ago and I haven't gotten around to ordering a warranty replacement yet. What I find very strange though is that I can turn it on through the camcorder. No other app is able to turn it on, and even then it only lasts for less than 2 minutes.
The camera app may be sending a lower 'power output' (don't know to phrase it) than torch app (even torch on normal mode) you can verify this by comparing modes commanded in your kernel log (dmesg)..
In terminal emu type dmesg | grep flashlight
8 is high power
4 is normal power
0 is off
And aw hell. Why not just launch camera app myself..
Yep.. flashlight mode 1...
I'm betting that vision, glacier, and ace all use the same led flash board.
Nexus one is a no go. I believe we're looking for a L shaped PCB with one flash. Correct me if I am wrong.
I can take a picture of the actual flash if anyone needs to see it. I have a fully disassembled G2 close by...

Yes please! The higher res, the better. Manufacturer markings or part numbers would be a dream - but that's probably not on there. So connector type and other 'identifiers' will be the best bet. Thanks very much.
Where would you start to look for such a part? Just wondering.

So I hit my phone onto the floor today and the home buttons broke. I found some replacements on ebay for $7
I was wondering if anyone has a video or written DIY of how to replace the buttons? I've been searching around for the past few hours and have no luck so far. All I can get is guides to replace the screen, not the buttons.
Try an ice cream sandwich port. They have those buttons on the screen. Or try looking in the market. I believe there are two soft button apps that would function as the buttons you need fixed too.

That youtube video is the BEST disassembly guide for the MyTouch 4G out there, it was the video I followed when I took my first MyTouch 4G apart. I have taken the MyTouch 4G's apart many times since to replace cracked screens or to replace broken LCD's, if you are careful you won't have any problems. Patience is the key !! The power button on top for example, be VERY careful when you pull it, it is adhered with sticky tape, don't use any sharp objects, just wiggle it and loosen it out of there. I only use my fingernails LOL, the cable is VERY thin and I have broken one power button cable by not being careful enough. I hope it works out for you !!
I speak portuguese, but you dont need to understand everything.... the only thig that i says that is important is that the side with the triggers was just done and that after a day it would loses its white marks and became like the other
I have my play for a year now and it is in pretty bad state.... the construction quality is not the best...
and what more I care about is the power button because it is pretty much gone, I'm using apps to lock the screen and the home button to unlock...
found out that some one used a nail file to fix it, so I tried and it was better for the first 3 presses.... I noticed that the light was passing though the part I sanded down, so I did the same on the whole button.
I think It looks pretty cool and all the button lights up and catches more attention..
when its off, it is ice/transparent with the power icon in the middle...
########Update########
I'm the kind of guy that has no limits, if I something cool, I keep doing it till it finishes bad... but not this time!! I sanded down the side that has no triggers and it looks like a very dark wood with a lovely texture on it... have to fell it...
Tip. Try to do it all ways in the same direction, along the side so that you have these tiny lines right. Or use a very smooth(?) /for more delicate things sand paper and don't put any pressure on it...

I can't imagine why they covered up most of the LED to begin with...
I'm going to do that. I sanded down my other buttons so they're now black. Never thought to do the power button.

How can filing down the surface of a button make any difference to its responsiveness? surely the problem lies beneath the button with the connector?
I agree with you on the build quality. My power button hasn't gone yet but its probably on its way out. It didn't work at all a couple of days ago until I kept pressing it and luckily went back to normal normal responsiveness after that, can't be a good sign though. That and the R trigger on my device has lost its springiness, it goes down with little to no effort now. Still raises back to the surface so I suppose I should count myself lucky.
Looks cool anyway and might make it so the LED light can actually be seen in normal circumstances.
So if I sand down my power button it will make it do that? GENIUS. I never thought of that. Time to go find a nail filer.
Sweet. Going to try this in a few
I just tried it out, and the power button felt a bit weird so I licked my finger and got it a little wet, but with the case on you don't even feel it. But my god, it looks 100x better. Thank you dude.

Not to go off topic again but I had to replace the back cover underneath the battery. As the triggers started to get sticky and not move as they looked liked they were pressed all the way down. So bought a new backing and bang... works like like new. Now.... back to our regular scheduled topic on hand.

Use something like this
You can find this on nail cutter or swiss army multipurpose knife. Gently scrub it on your power button. You can use sand paper also which you can find it on any hardware store, but I don't prefer sand paper because the sand will come off and run into your device

Here I have a 100% fix for the galaxy note 4 emmc error and random reboots,
Including unable to unlock phone, deep sleep issues, and random behaviour.
Also fixes overheating and battery issues as well as makes GearVR work without heating issues.
This is a hardware fix and so far has been 100% effective on all devices I have repaired,
Its an easy repair and takes about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
No special tools are needed and I have posted a video below to show how this is done.
All you will need is a bank card or spudger, a pair of scissors and some cardboard from a cereal box.
You may also need a drop of glue or blue tack.
Although this usually stops all issues on most devices you may still need wakelock but usually it's not needed.
Paypal donation welcome if it fixed your phone you could donate here https://paypal.me/Arnookie anything helps no matter how small.

Anyone attempting this please do not go under the glass try push it forward from the battery compartment and then run a card around the edges of the grey plastic. Just go carefully when doing this and don't rush. You can heat the screen with a hairdryer to make removing the phone from the casing easier. It's the best way to do it.
Also you could use Aluminium Thermal pads or Copper instead of cardboard for better thermal cooling. Just make sure its 0.5mm or 1.2mm thick but no thicker!
You will get great 3d mark results using Aluminium, Copper or Thermal pads. "Do not use any kind of thermal pastes!!", You have been warned! But even using just cardboard works great as well.
Don't blame me if you break your phone more by attempting this. But if your phone is not working, you really have nothing to loose.
If you have an old phone you would like to donate please send me a PM.
1. Thanks a lot mate, I can confirm that this method works. At least it helps to turn the phone on/off asap without removing the battery then waiting like before.
2. Also, I am glad to break the front glass, and also cut off the blue wire for phone signal, just by sliding my credit card when trying to open the parts. So now I am ordering the new glass and a set of wifi/phone signal wires.
I am not blaming you, LOL, just to add in some information that anyone who never open the Note 4 themselves would do an extra care on this work.
Well done for your tips!!!
I'm glad it worked for you. Sorry to hear your glass cracked. That's a pain. I do try to explain not to go under the glass when doing this. I'm sorry if it was not so clear. No not really but if you like you could use aluminium or copper for better cooling and thermal performance. But it must be no thicker than 3 or 4 folds of cereal cardboard.
This has worked for many people already.

Instead of cardboard, I used folded aluminum to the desired thickness and reassembled. My note 4 actually turns on properly where prior the phone would shut off from minor use and had to remove the battery and pop it in the freezer just to turn on.... I did have 2-3 reboots so far but that was after heavy usage (few minutes gaming and gps usage).
I saw a similar youtube video that actually showed a voltage power supply and volt meter to the out put and pressure on the emmc card was the solution as well.
Thanks for the fix! Hope I can get more usage out of the old Note 4.
Yeh I actually upgraded this to aluminium as well. ?

Yeh sure but maybe do 0.5mm to 1.25mm, I would say 0.5mm minimum but 1.25mm should be ok. Its only purpose is to put pressure on the chip
