what shoul i do, i want to flash my phone into cm7,,, please help me,

In rom manager click on clockworkmod recovery , it should automatically flash a new cwm recovery

i already flashed my cwm, but cant boot to it. do we need a wifi in booting in cwm?

You might want to use fastboot, its fast and simple

Is your phone Gen 1 or Gen 2? If its Gen 1 and you flash a Gen 2 recovery (like the one ROM Manager will flash) then you can't boot into recovery until you flash a Gen 1 one. If you are Gen 1 and want to use CM7 then you will need to convert to Gen 2 first. You can do this by TPT which will also install the correct version of recovery. See wbaw's thread for how to do this.

please help me on how to use fastboot, havent seen one,
and additionala info,
my phone is a gen2, ive already asked mr pigfish.

You sure you rooted bro??
Can't use RM, can't use Terminal Emulator????
Check root with Root checker:

Dell XCD35 bootloader problem

Hi friends, i use dell xcd35(renamed zte blade in india)
the device is Gen1. i tried to upgrade its ROM to CyanogenMod 7.0
same like this
i rooted my phone with z4root...installd rom manager...instal cwm flash recovery mod for zte blade.... Download cyanogenmod
7.0.0 (recommended for 2.1 users) .... .when
downloaded a menu will appear... .select
wipe data and cache.. ... and wipe delvik
cache... ..select backup existing rom(if you
want to backup) .... .and select ok.. ..select ok
again.... now a superuser command will
appear .... .select yes.. ..now phone will
boot into recovery mode.. ..
the problem is -my phone is not going into recovery mod
its just rebooting and starting up with a same android version
i tried rebooting into recovery by BladeBuddy app and its the same. and by using bladebuddy app when i reboot it into bootloader mod its just stuck in dell logo...i have to remove the battery to start it again
plz can u give me some solution for my problem

As your phone is gen1 you can install only gen1 roms. If you install gen2 roms you will have bootloop problems. Now download a gen1 rom and go to recovery, wipe everything and flash it.
The cm7 you installed is gen2. So to use it, you need to convert your phone from gen1 to gen2.

Doesn't the XCD usually come with Froyo and Gen 2 though?
Did you verify it was a Gen 1 phone with the Mr Pigfish app? If not verify it.
Also, CM 7.0 is a Gen 1 ROM IIRC. When you go into the bootloader mode it's supposed be on that Dell screen.
Try flash the appropriate recovery using Fastboot, see method 2 here.
It might take 24 hours for someone to reply to you so be patient next time.
No need for Pigfish, Blade Buddy which you have will tell you which Gen. (Blade Version button)
Also, you can use ROM Manager to flash latest ClockworkMod Recovery.......and reboot into Recovery
Also, you can use Quick Boot to get into Recovery, or Bootloader.
BTW, looking at this indicates Froyo 2.2, and this indicates Gen 2....
but as you say upgrade from 2.1, perhaps you have Gen 1??
yes buddy i've gen1 phone...confirmed by Mr. PigFish

can u pleasee give me download links of Gen1 ROMs which can convert my phone to Gen2

It's not a ROM but a TPT Upgrade: http://android.modaco.com/topic/337798-gen1-to-gen2-tpt-upgrade/
help me plz.....
i rooted my phone using z4root, it got stuck. so i took off the battery and when i tried to start, it got stuck on the Dell logo.....plz help me, its my dad's phone plz.........

[Q] ClockworkMod help!

Hi,
a friend asked me to install CyanogenMod 7 on his ZTE blade after using it on my wildfire.
started by rooting using Universal AndRoot, went perfectly... superuser granted
then installed Rom Manager and clicked Flash Clockwork Mod, selected ZTE Blade, let it install, but i cannot boot into recovery.
the Clockwork version is somthing like 5.0.2.0 which i have read is not supported on a Gen1 device.
the phone still works so i have got time to find a perfect seolution
My question is:
If i install RecoveryManager to use "recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.6-blade.img" to change the clockwork version will this allow me to flash an older version of CWM?
will i then be able to boot into ClockworkMod and flash "update-cm-7.0.0-Blade-signed.zip" on the Gen1 ZTE Blade?
Thanks for all the help
Just use Rom manager to downgrade cwm, no need to carry out a restore.
sent using tapatalk
I have tried using the 'all clockworkmod versions' and selecting the version I want, the bar at the top is downloading, then it says 'error' something to do with privileged scripts or something.
Sorry I don't have the phone here at the moment, but will tomorrow.
I have checked superuser and root access ect, but all is working.
Any ideas
Thanks for your help
Fastboot is enabled in gen1 phones.
So just download a blade-gen1-recovery seperarely and flash the img file from fastboot. The fastboot command will be "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
As for the cm7 version u mentioned I don't know whether it is gen1 or gen2. But u can make ur stock rom nandroid backup and check the cm7 and if it is incompatible it wont boot.
And gen1 to gen2 firmware upgrade is needed for using gen2 roms.

Read that guide to convert to Gen2 and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Hi,
thank you all for your replies, i have now read that CyanogenMod wiki info page you requested, very good infomation. will work on this when Clockwork is working.
as for FastBoot.... i have never used that on a ZTE before, pressing POWER and VOLUME DOWN does nothing but make the android logo flash and POWER and VOLUME UP and MENU does the exact same!
i am open to all advice and infomation, i am paranoid of bricking his phone
Thanks for all your help everyone!

Update to a new Recovery

Hello together,
im running currently CWM 3.0.0.6 and would like to update to a newer version
with no Charging-bug. I have some questions about this.
1. Can i update CWM via flashing a zip...?
2. Which CWM version would you recommend at the moment? ( A link would be great)
3. Do i loose my old recovery files or is it compatibel?
Thank you very much in advance!
You can update Rom Manager from market and then you can update recovery using Rom Manager. It automatically downloads and installs updated recovery AFAIK.
Rom manager only gives you a temporary recovery, the easiest way I've found is an app called root toolbox pro, download the recovery image save it to your sd card then open the app choose advanced/flash recovery navigate to your img file on your sd card. Job done.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
cant find advanced/flash recovery in root toolbox pro, is there any other option to install a new recovery?
when i just flash it its only temporary
Terminal emulator method works a treat. Can't remember command and busy at wedding reception at mo. But search for how to flash cwm via terminal and it'll work.

QFire fire fire and cwm (solved)

I saw a post like this before but I can't find it so sorry for making a new thread anyway,do you need to install fire fire fire in order to install cwm.
Sent from my Droid using XDA
Read the kindle fire for beginners guide up top, it'll allow you to understand the relationship between FFF and CWM. Then it'll be clear what your answer is.
There are so many pseudo bricks on here because the rooting process is WAY too easy, so most android newbs run headfirst into rooting and screwing everything up without understanding what they're doing and why they're doing it.
Gone are the old nexus one rooting days where it was only performed through adb/fastboot and involved sanding down your battery plus pulling/pushing in SD card. None of this one click crap that never weeds out the mis, under, or non-informed.
To my understanding after reading, fire fire fire is a bootloader that goes into fastboot mode for 5 seconds, wich means I don't need fire fire fire and cwmr. All I need is CWMR, correct.
Thanks

and it offers the possibility to boot to recovery at startup by repeatently pressing the power button till it gets orange

Ok but last time I installed twrp all I had to do is click install twrp and I didn't need to install fff first.can I do the same with CWMR...does KFU automatically install fff when you click install twrp or cwmr.
twrp and cwm use different installation methods:
if you install twrp then it installs fff 1.0 as integrated part of the installation package
if you want the newest fff with twrp then you have to install it additionally again afterwards
if you use cwm then cwm will be pushed to the recovery partition - not more
therefore if you want to use cwm you have to install both fff & cwm
in kfu this would be: "install newest fff" and "install cmw"

[Q] Booting into recovery shows "no command"

Hi there,
yesterday succesfully rooted my device using the insecure boot image.
Today booted and also flashed the new CWM recovery image but now, when booting into recovery only get an android logo and the text "no command" ?
Any ideas ? Flashed back to original recovery image but no change either ?
Root remains though and working fine.
Thanks

It seems tonight clockwork will release a new version with bugfixes which should make recovery working when flashed also.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
New clockworkmod recovery 6.0.1.8 had been released and I can confirm myself that it is working perfectly and stays when flashed !
You can download it here and follow the instructions as written here.
Good luck !
excellent, i was waiting for someone to confirm before flashing it myself
(looks like this thread is just a party for the two of us, wooohooo, let's find the hidden alcohol)

Meanwhile a newer 6.0.1.9 is released as well, which will hopefully also fix the backup being in the wrong location and not usable
CWM is fixed. Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995440
6.0.1.9 is the one i flashed and I'm still looking for my backup :s
n7'd from my n7
Disregard this post! It was meant for LBE which is a Virus or acts like one (Newest version that was translated)
I'm having the "no command" message as well. I've flashed CWM 6.0.2.3 no-touch (following this guide), and it doesn't seem to be sticking. It'll work the first time, but then revert to the "no command" screen. I've also tried flashing the stock recovery, and then I receive the same message. I have an unlocked bootloader, and I managed root via the same guide. Anybody have any ideas?

From efrants android 101 sticky:
I just flashed CWM, but every time I try to boot into CWM, I keep seeing the stock recovery. Why?
If you updated your Android build using an OTA update file (either manually or over-the-air), the update placed two files on your device that re-flash the stock recovery every time you reboot your device. These two files are:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh <== this is the script that installs the patch file
/system/recovery-from-boot.p <== this is the patch
You have to rename (or delete) one or both of them, then re-flash your custom recovery. Now it will stick.

Perfect! Thank you! I had just previously downloaded 4.2.1, and so renaming recovery-from-boot.p did the trick. I had to remount my /system as read/write (used Total Commander, and it worked like a charm.
