B&N store broken on rooted NST? - Nook Touch General

Using the latest Touchnooter, I had no problem rooting but now I realized that when I press the "shop" button, nothing happens. Did I break something? Any ideas to fix this?

Don't do it unless you are prepared and capable of using Odin (which is very easy).
The question wasn't asnwered....does it void warranty...if I only apply the lag fix

Don't know, but if it's a concern for you don't do it. Because if something goes wrong you'll have to get your hands a little dirty
All the comments look good....plus its an app...so im not doing anything in recovery mode, or dragging files of such...
It's not hard to bring phone to stock, so nit really. Even if you're worried that the software installed will void it, you could simply learn how to use Odin and restore it full stock. Even with root you don't void it as you can always unroot it.

Yea I've been using it for a while with no problems whatsoever. I'm just trying to warn you that if, for whatever reason, something goes wrong, you may have go into manual recovery or download mode.
I can't seem to get the phone into the recovery mode....i hold down the up and down rocker, including power or without?

Build.prop Issue/Bootlooping

So I installed the netflix app and edited the build.prop exactly how it said in the one of the guides and now my phone just keeps restarting. I can't do anything at all. How can I fix this issue?
I do not have Clockworkmod. Let me know. Thanks.

Oh and I'm also using ENG Bootloader. From there nothing else.

Just bought a Used ATRIX and Volume rocker Dosent Work?? Want to restore, HELP!!!!

I noticed because when I bought it it was heavily modified & rooted running Gingerblur, already had clockwork installed so I went to flash a clean sbf with rsd and could not get it to enter rsd mode. Finally I realized it was because the volume button dosen't work. I have a feeling its not hardware related and more likely someone that didnt know what they were doing fooling with things.
Does anyone know a way I can fully restore it without using the volume rocker? When I called back the guy that sold it to me he claimed I have to install rom manager and load a image and that will fix it but he probably dosent know what hes talking about.
Does it have tenfars CWM installed already? If not, can you install it? With it , you can reboot directly into cwm recovery and do a factory reset / data wipe or flash something else through update.zip

Yes it has it installed already but without functioning volume up/down buttons I cannot select any files or options?
Doh forgot about that... how about Factory Data Reset through the regular settings menu? On mine it's in the Privacy Settings.

Yah I tried that a couple times. Rocker still dosent work. Took it to my local cell phone repair shop and they said its hardware related. Dosent make sense though since water damage indicator is white and phone appears to be in brand new physical condition like its never been dropeed or damaged. But it has been hacked as i see system recovery and its rooted with gingerblur.
The person that you bought the phone from could have pressed way to hard on the button and broke it without even knowing it.

+1 probably hardware related...
but if you want to try one more thing, might go the official motorola update software route here...

RSD restore it and call it in on warranty. Used phones still have warranty protection.

Thanks for the suggestion but it says there is no software update available when i connect it. Anyways I took it to att warranty center they said they will send out replacemnet and that software related stuff should not affect my warranty. A little worried though since it says gingerBLUR on boot up. Wish I could restore this somehow.

About the gingerblur bootanimation, use rootexplorer to remove the bootanimation.zip.

Ok I have root explorer. What exactly should I do?
If you still have the phone I remembered that you can enter rsd mode by enabling usb debugging then clicking start on rsdlite. It'll reboot into rsd protocol mode.
if it is the rocker that's gone, its only a module and theres only 6 screws to totally disassemble the phone. no void stickers either. my phone's rocker button was broke to when i bought mine used. i just disassembled and reassembled and it was magically fixed! theres nothing scary about taking it apart either
Did you find a solution?
I am in the same boat. I need to use this piece of c**p for a month before I switch to galaxy s3. Please assist.

Xposed modules won't install

All,
I apologize if this is a noob/repeated question..
I'm using an s4 with MJ7 on it. I have the latest version of xposed installer, and I have been able to install modules in the past, without problems. Now, whenever I try to install, I get the menu prompt but the install button won't work. I've tried installing via chrome, and within the closed installer. The problem is as if the button doesn't activate the action.
Thanks for your help,
Alex

You seem to be running a screen-overlay (probably dimming) app. Disable that, after that the Install button will be available again.
Yeah, I am using twilight. You were right, download button works again. Thanks!

SOLUTION
Nothing happens when you press install?
Its waiting for your root permission. Somethings wrong with your supersu or superuser. Reinstall it then try again.

He was offering a different suggestion in case the first suggestion didn't work for somebody else. I for one apprecieate the effort because I"m not running a screen dimming overlay. Thanks to that suggestion, I went in to my SU app and forgot Xposed. I rebooted and now the install buttons work.

[Q] NOTE3 Power button/ Lock screen problem.

I recently rooted my note3 and installed xpose framework and other tweaks. i later realised that my power button cant lock and put my device into my lock screen.
the power button still works for everything else and i have a software button to bring it to the lock screen which i made using the "greenify app".
whats causing this and is there any fix? or any ways to put the device into safe mode ans see if this is caused by some faulty tweak? bug?
Summary:
"Power button works for everything except putting the phone to lockscreen/screen blackout"
Basic solution is to go to security and check "power button instantly locks" something like that.

List the modules you installed. It is possible that something is overriding the button function.

I removed all my modules and root permissions and used super user to remove my root.
Ive backed up all my data, removed my root access and im planning to do a factory reset. That should fix it right? Is it possible to soft brick my device this way?
Im fluent when it comes to jailbreaking but still a total noob with rooting.

Factory reset will delete all data photos, music, vids, contact and messages etc. If you've backed up everything then you are good to go for factory reset and will welcome you back to fresh out of the box phone. And no soft brick can occur by doing this.

Hmmmm...this is odd. Can't seem to figure out anything that would mess up power button in such a manner.
You're on stock rom right? Nothing fancy done to your phone.

i was playing with boot animations last night. that could of caused it? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486469
Very interesting...
I discovered that if I renamed the boot animation qmg file under \system\media , the screen won't turn off. Once I restored the file, all is well.
Why is this?
how to i reset all this without doing it manualluy?
I'm assuming it's coded as most hardware functions are. Anyway applause for finding the solution on your own, well done.
