can no longer boot into recovery

I have a rooted unlocked Magic 32b and have flashed many roms on it but it has suudenly stopped booting into recovery.
If i hold power and home it now just hangs on vodafone splash screen.
any ideas?

if you have an engineering SPL installed on the phone, you can use fastboot from the SDK to flash a new recovery image (assuming you can still get into fastboot mode on the phone)

Or you can go to Android Market and download ROM Manager & flash recovery through that application (both ClockWorkMod & Amon_RA supported). If the first flash fails don't worry just reflash the same recovery (2nd flash works every time)

Thanks for the help, I reflashed AMon-Ra recovery via fastboot and all is well.

I'm having exactly the same problem.
Think I flashed the 32a instead of 32b onto the magic uk vodafone device:

Could you link to the recovery you managed to flash your phone using please? I've tried loads of versions via adb/flashboot and none work sadly.
Hoping I don't have to buy another phone

I have similar issue to original poster, I've flashed many roms over the last year and all have been fine until now
VOLDN+POWER, HOME+POWER, BACK+POWER are all no go.. all stuck on bootloader splash. Can someone confirm I've finally bricked my 32B?
Last SPL i put on was 1.76.2007 i think (cant confirm no fastboot..) radio was 2.22.19.26I

I have a Htc Vodafone Magic, de version.
A few days ago i rooted and install cyanogen 5.0.7 and the i've upgraded to 5.0.8.
I used titanium backup, made a backup, and then i need it to restore. After that i couldn't use the phone.
Then i inserted the goldcard made it earlyer, where i had the rom, and update it.
It was a rom 5.0.7 with no app and no android market, and no root.
Now started in fast boot (vol down + power) and i have :
sapphire pvt 32b eng s-off H
Hboot-1.33.2010 (SAPP10000)
cpld-10
radio3.22.20.17
jun 2 2009, 17:27:03.
When i try to instal a rom it said that he cannot find any rom.
I used the link [How-To] Root and un-root the T-Mobile myTouch 3G
to revert to 32b since i so that i have 32b eng s-off H and i thought that is the problem.
i used this commands
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
It did not work.
No the phone starts and locks on the image with HTC MAGIC.

And i cannot use adb commands.
It is bricked?
the fastboot option works. i send recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G thru fastboot and the message was okay.

I think you can download radio 2.22.23.02 as zip file, put it on root of memory card, boot to recovery mode, apply this zip. Everything will be OK.
I flashed it 2 days ago for udating for my Magic radio version from 2.22.19.26I.
You can find the file on this room or I will attach it later.

Myouch 3G 1.2 Cant flash anything

So i had to fix the SPL on the mytouch because i kept getting the Fastboot Remote Not allow, So i did the SPL Fix and rebooted and i had a black HTC Magic screen, Got some progress then it said to throw a rom on there but i couldnt get to recovery, i try to flash a recovery and i get remote signature verify fail. So i tried flashing the SAPPIMG again and it is stuck on unzipping, Rebooted again and tried to flashboot boot recovery.img it transfers the recovery and reboots and stuck ad the black htc magic screen again.
Well i made some progress i can flash recovery and stuff now but it wont boot to recovery, i got the recovery to flash successfull but for some reason when i hold home and power it sits at the magic screen
As of right now i have

Well i think ive done everything to this phone............ would be nice to figure somthing out. Been working on it since about 10AM this morning and i got nothing, does anyone have a fix?!

Its bricked. The mytouch 1.2 can only run 1.33.0013 spl and the 2..x radio. Its a hybrid hardware. 32a board with a 32b radio.

I can flash a new radio on it and a new SPL on it, it takes that when i flash it

To root the phone you need to use the ENG spl 2010 flash your custom recovery, then stock radio and spl. After that, flash ROMs thru recovery. You can not use any other radio/spl at this time.

I think i bricked it now..... it stuck on a 0009 SPL and i cannot do a sappimg it wont unzip and i cannot flash a different spl it does the signature verify fail

Does your phone have the 3.5mm jack? Are you sure you've got a 1.2?

Well, If your phone still turns on and your have a working goldcard, try the ENG 2010 SPL from the Magic SPL thread. once you are back down to 1.33.2010 SPL and 3.22.x radio, fastboot your custom recovery, flash stock mytouch 1.2 radio then spl.
At that point, you won't have any OS tho. so, go into recovery, wipe all (but NOT your SD goldcard). Then flash custom ROM+gapps (if needed)

What is your fastboot info RIGHT NOW....

Remember that if you have a MyTouch 1.2 (with 3.5mm headphone jack) you MUST have the following AFTER you flash your custom recovery.
Radio: 2.22.23.02
SPL: 1.33.0013
So use the engineering SPL (2010) and 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' with a Amon_Ra 1.7.0G or Clockwork Recovery for MyTouch devices (NOT MAGIC).
Afterwards reboot to your recovery by holding HOME while booting. If you can boot into recovery then flash your stock spl (1.33.0013) back. Then flash your rom.

I had the same issue the other day while experimenting on my mt3g 1.2. What worked for me was using adb to push the stock mt3g hboot and radio and then rerooting my phone. You can download the files you need from the unlockr.com web page and skim his how-to for android in the unrooting section. Hope this helps.

if it boots into fastboot, hboot, or recovery you are not sunk yet. you will need the "official" sappimg.zip or .nbh on your gold card, but it should go through the steps and re-image it.. this will get your phone back to stock.
are you using a Tmobile MyTouch 1.2? or are you using a Rogers Magic?
the files will be different as the hardware requires differnent drivers.
there are many links on this site, or theunlockr.com that will get you the correct files you will need. make sure you check the md5 sums on anything you download to make sure its not corrupted before trying to flash it.

Got This Problem When I Was Running Sparksmod And Decided To Reurn To Original Rom RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.04.401.2_HTC_AT_test_signed_NoDriver
Now Whenever I Try To Flash HIgher Version Ruu Or The Same Ruu The Screen Goes Black When It Is Updating The Radio BTW I have 3 Goldcards
But When I Tried To Use The Command Fastboot Oem Boot, it Boots The Sparksmod Rom Although Dialer And Contacts Are Gone
Ive Tried Using Fasboot To Flash Hboot,radio And Recovery But Verify Error 12

Well... you need a compatible spl before you can change the spl/radio combo.
To do that, i need your software version... run this code:

Just don't flash or mess around your OS... we may need it to flash a different misc partition to change the software version... more on that later

Please Help, I can't boot in Recovery! PLEASE!!! :(

So I flashed the new Cyanogenmod 7.1 the other day and all went well but there seemed to be an annoying bug, now and then the phone went to sleep and I couldn't wake it up and this had nothing to do with Airplane Mode. So today I decided to try a different ROM. Did the Nandroid, backed up all my apps and data with Titanium Backup but then when I flashed the Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC0 wich seems to be a great ROM running smoothly I then noticed a new cwm-recovery that they recommended and I flashed that new recovery (I had the old RA 1.6). When I tried to boot in recovery the phone just stood up on boot screen. Went to ROM Manager flashed ClockWorkMod (2.x.x.x) and nothing, still boot screen on recovery attempt. Flashed the Alternativa wich is RA-mon 1.7H and also nothing. Now I try to install gapps manually and I can't. It says "Application not Installed" always to every google app. Since I dont have gapps I dont have the phone in sync, don't have contacts, etc. Guess I lost ROOT???Anyway this is where my phone stands:

EDIT: btw the phone boots up with no problem into gingerbread. Just not Recovery.

Your problem is very easy.
You need search for recovery AmonRa 1.6.2 patched by cursordroid
Or get Htc Hero recovery.
Following recoveries are not compatible with radio 6.35.xx.xx:
1.7.0 H is for Magics 32a with old radio (3.22.20.17)
1.7.0 G - radio 2.22.xx.xx
Clockworkmod recoveries are same
