[Q] Hardware buttons stay on always - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I have recently flashed the windows 7 Yuki 2.1 rom on my HTC HD2. With WM6.5, the light of the keys always dimmed when the screen was turned off. However, after changing to WP7 they always stay on. I have also tried going back to WM6.5, but now also there the button lights never dim.
This annoys me, as I can image it takes a lot of energy. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can it be by flashing a wrong radio? It is strange as nothing happened to the hardware itself.
Any help would be hot! I am kind of new so I hope anyone can help me.
I have used this:
HSPL 2.08
Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
MAGDLR
YUKI back to the future 2.1

blackstone help needed pulling me hair out!!!!

right peeps this is the issue i am having and i am not sure if this is the right place to post this problem, i have had a blackstone for a while and all working fine upgraded to duttys holy grail 5/11/09 release and all was fine, i bought another blackstone as a none worker and it turned out to be the battery? i replace the battery and all fired up wm6.1 and worked for ages, i decided to put duttys holy garil on the latest blackstone and this is where the problem is.
when the phone flashes and reboots the screen looks like its in the wrong resolution? all the colours are distorted but if i press the power button once and then back on again the screen comes back normal? but after about 5 min the phone seems really warm and then locks up?
could this be a rom issue or radio issue
my older blackstone radio is different to what is in this one? any ideas where to begin, regards
just to add, when the phone first boots the screen saying "smart mobility" is white how it should do but it then turns like a light blue and thats when the screen goes funny as if it is in the wrong resolution, cheers
just found out that with a sim card in the phone there is no phone functions, i can not turn flight mode of or can i turn the phone function on, regards
someone must have come across this befor??
Hi
is it possible for you to upgrade your HardSPL to 1.56?
Screen colors distorsion are often linked to improper HARDSPL version usage.
Regards
hi frha
yepp that done the job thanks,
i upgraded to 1.4 before i flashed a new rom so after your advice i rechecked the version and it said v1.07?? not sure what happened there, i upgraded to 1.56 and rechecked and all seems well, the phone booted and started setup for the network provider and all seems stable altho the radio version is different to my other one? this one is ver 1.13.25.24 and the other is 1.14.25.24, would adding the updated radio be a benifit, many thanks for you help in solving my hair pulling saga, regards dave
you're welcome
enjoy your HTC HD.

I need some serious Help!!!!!!

In my attempt to run Android I think I accidentally bricked my phone/
Couple weeks ago I installed HSPL3 in my phone, after this I installed Chucky GTX ROM and also I installed Radio 2.12 then I installed HTC Sense Desire Build but Android wasnt running fine at all.
Ok last week unistall Chucky ROM and installed Energy.Leo.COM2.Barebones WM Build.For.Android, I changed the the radio to 2.15 and I installed MCCM SE V3.4 FroyoStone Sense which it ran great and did not had any problem with it. But about two days ago I would try to unlock the screen but the screen would not respond at all so, I thought it w9s just android so I turned the phone off and boot into windows but the touch screen was unresponsive also. Usually it would come back to normal where the phone would work just fine but today it did it and the phone completely stopped working.
I thought if I change the ROM it would fix it, so I change the ROM and Radio but with no success, in my desperation trying to fix it I googled the problem and I read that if I execute Task 29 that might would fix it, so I did but it only stays on the boot screen (it has ENERGY Boot loader) and it does not show at the bottom Radio, ROM or anything that it usually shows.
The last thing that I did was try to hard reset it but it did not work, I really would like someone to help me with this if there is anything I can do to fix my phone, please, please I would really appreciate it. Thanks before hand
...your phone isn't bricked. Task 29 erases your ROM from your phone. I wish people would stop recommending Task 29 because people who don't read don't understand what it does. Anyways, you need to load another ROM onto your phone now and see if the screen works...more than likely, it won't. This is a known problem with the HD2 running Android from the SD card and we are still not quite sure of the cause or of a fix other than sending the phone back to HTC for repair, which costs around 125USD if your device is not under warranty.

What do you mean by "cuts in?" If you tasked 29 your phone you gotta hold down the volume down toggle and at the same time turn you phone on to access your bootloader. Then plug it into the computer and it'll say usb, blah, blah, blash, and flash a rom.

[NEED HELP] Screen takes so long to turn on?

I just switched from the HTC Desire to the HD2 and installed android on it.
I compared the two phones and I noticed that when I click on a button of my desire the screen will turn on instantly. On the HD2 however, when I press a button first of all the backlight goes on but only shows a black screen, then after 1-2s my lockscreen finally appears.
I think theres a problem with my HD2, but did someone also noticed this or could compare his HD2 to another android phone? I hope there is some sort of fix for that although it doesnt seem like a common problem
thank you

reboot
try rebooting your HD2 a few times, this might fix it
As far as I'm aware it's a problem with all Android ROM's on the HD2. I have used WP7 and have got none, but then with Android ROM's I get it.
Well that was before my phone bricked itself.
Why don't you flash Task 29, before Android Rom.

[Q] is my phone fudged?

I think my phone might be fudged. I have been running android fine for the last few weeks until it crashed, I removed the battery to reset but the phone wouldn’t turn back on. However I could boot to the tri-color screen so I tried putting windows 6.5 back on the phone, the installation finished but the phone still wouldn’t boot the OS. I can still get the tri-color screen and have tried re-installing the radio/magdlr but they stick on 0%. Also my battery at best probably has 20-30% of juice left (it won’t charge either).
Anyone know what the cause of the problem is and if there is a way it can be fixed?
thanks in advance!

Try doing a Task29 then flash a compatible Radio then flash MAGLDR.. and lets see what happens
You will need to charge your battery. If it dies during a flash then you will have an even bigger problem to sort out.
If its less than 50% this is probably why its sticking at 0%.
Is your HSPL still intact and which radio are you using?

lower than 50% doesn't really matter from the bootloader, only RUU.
It sounds like hardware problem, or something fishy going on in NAND, I'd do task29 followed by ROM/Radio
thanks for the responses. I still have hspl, I manged to successfully install task 29 after that I tried flashing a windows 6.5 rom, once again phone won't start up after 100% all i can do is get to the 4 colored screen.
is there anything else I can try? considering my battery must be really low and I have no way of charging it.

If you got 100% when you flashed the Windows Mobile ROM and your HD2 rebooted itself, then you sucessfuly flashed the ROM.
Did it boot up to the bootloader or the first splash screen (Stick Together or white HTC screen depending on which HD2 you have)?
If it booted to the first splashscreen it could be the processor having troubles or possible bad blocked incthe NAND memory.
If it boots straight to bootloader then you have a bad NAND memory.
It doesn't reboot to either screen, it simply turns off after the rom is finished installing and doesn't start back up again. The only thing I can do is press volume down and red button to boot the 4 colored screen. When I press the power button all that happens is the phone sometimes makes a tiny vibration.

Yeah sounds like you probably have a internal problem with hardware. But it might could because software related issue, but I highly doubt it. The only software problem you could have that I can think of is a problem with your SPL or HSPL which ever one you have, but you should have HSPL cause you where running Android.
Would a corrupt bootsplash do this?

If you are asking if a currupt splash screen could cause your issue, I would have to say it could be possible, but I do not know enough to say for sure, sorry. You can put this to a test though and flash another splash screen, but the ROM should have flashed a splash screen. Maybe the splash screen it flashed was currupted or had a bad flash. Go to this link to get a splash screen and learn how to flash one.
I've said this a lot in other threads, but create a gold card SD. This will allow you to flash ALL the necessary components from the SD card. Then report back with your experience...

[Q] Touchscreen not working on WP7

Hi!
I just freshly got a HD2, and decided to turn it into a WP7 device. The phone works perfectly (and I do mean perfectly, the touchscreen's just as responsive and precise as it should) on stock 6.5, but as soon as I flash WP7 (mango/tango) onto it, the touchscreen ceases to work. I tried several builds, the physical keys are working, but the touch isnt. What can be the cause?

Go back to stock ROM, If your touch is working there, if yes let me know, I'll give advice thn.
Best of luck
Already did, several times actually, how else would I know the touchscreen didnt just get messed up somewhere in process? Im pretty much running like a headless chicken, I cant get android to work neither (clockwork recovery stops at 1 2 3 4 5 6 GO!, no matter what I do).
I task29ed, tried different partitions, every generic piece of advice. WP7 boots, has sound, reacts to volume keys, prompts to slide to shut down when I press the hang up button long enough, but there is no response from the screen whatsoever.

I had this issue for a very long time and it made me bonkers. I even contacted T-Mobile and they sent me refurbished HD2 to deal with it. I thought it might be a defective digitizer, then I thought that it had to be some issue with the backplate not being on correctly, then I realized that it was the series of roms I was currently using. I would suggest that you do a hard reset "End button+Up Volume+Down Volume", then start from scratch.
Flash Magldr 1.13, radio 2.15.50.14, and installing the Pdaimatejam 7.6 mango rom. Here are some resources:
Radio Thread
Pdaimatejam Mango Rom
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks, but it didnt work neither :/
