looking for a recovery image with nandroid support for nexus one
tried a couple of the other htc recovery images
they load but will not launch
any help is appreciated
if this is something that must be created I'm willing to help anyone with the requisite domain knowledge
if there is a more appropriate forum to ask this question please let me know
couldn't find a nexus one/passion/bravo or dragon forum
thanks
You've got to be kidding me. . .
*this guy walks up to me with nexus one in hand*
"hey! i have a question. do you got a reco"
*i punch guy in face and take his phone then you see me run like a jaguire"
they won't launch because you're using a different kernel. Pull the kernel from your original recovery and load it on any of our. It should work that way.
ha i wouldn't run. i would teleport with the nexus. Geez where are you thinking lol jp!! Serious thou man. Your looking for a rec for a nexus?!?! Dude i have barely seen a few vids with it much less then know someone has it!!!

[Q] Just Wondering

Hey guys , its almost September and I just wanted to know how is the Nand project coming along ? I havent seen any post about it the past week and was just wondering how close are we to Nand?
Man you are going to get flamed for that question...
Believe me.. if there's news on it.. it WILL be announced..
i would quickly delete your thread if i were you..
Hahaha, to the guy above me, funny post.. so gonna get your arse burned..
In any case, rumour has it that it'll be somewhere round Semptember..
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
No one here will be able to answer that one...
And in case you hadn't noticed, there's now an HD2 Android general forum...this one is just for build development.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=743
cant delete ur own threads unless ur a mod lol... but u can delete what u typed in that very 1st post there..
before u guys keep going , NO I cannot delete my own thread.
I asked because I havent heard anything. Also I set HD2 Android DEV. as a fav SO I really didnt see a "NEW" section. To the first guy who said I would get flamed , why would I get flamed ? XDA is for people to flame people or help each other ? I think it was meant to share knowlege and information. I didnt know so I asked. If anyone feel like flaming then go right ahead . Sorry for posting in the wrong section also , wont happen again.
Yea, the new General forum is hard to spot if you have this one as a bookmark...no announcement or anything makes it difficult to know...
And regarding NAND...we havent heard anything because there's obviously nothing new to report...I'm quite sure we'll all hear about it as soon as anything crops up.

it wasn't meant to be an attack on yourself at all mate..
just i know how people have been treated before on the forum...
Was more a word of warning to be honest..

Check those links for the latest developments.
Also, you have to realize that none of the developers are going to search the forums to try and answer your question about their progress. Try going in the IRC chat for some info.

I don't think its bashing if its the truth seen over and over lol
I remember reading a forum whare someone said they had honeycomb or gingerbread for a certain phone just flash it with that .zip and you have it. Two responses later (Thanks for the Brick)
Look, i hear what you guys are saying about not doing your homework before asking a question but that thread is huge and I really don't understand a lot of it to be honest with you so I figured I would ask.. A friend of mine actually did the dexter rom on my a7 and i wasn't there when he did it. He was going to walk me through it before he went back to Afghanistan but we never got a chance to so here i am.
I am trying to read as much as i can so I don't have to ask you all. But for now I am a noob so you can get on me all you want but i am sure this isn't the last time i will ask a dumb question about something that was discussed somewhere else so please have some patients with me and the rest of the non-enlightened folk...
the A7 was very disappointing out of the box... i just want a better functioning tablet... same as you all.. and i am happy with it now.. I just need to figure out how to do the patch. I wouldn't suppose there a "for dummies" version of how to do this anywhere is there?
try out some video streaming sites thru the skyfire browser. if you cant find it on the market i could post a link for you.

Yes, there are some know it all butt heads in this forum that leave yo guessing and having to ask again. Ignore those idiots-some of us do care.

You can always PM people that you see that are frequent posting, because when you ask a question about something that has been covered it drowns the important information, then we have other be lost, but me and others here would be glad to help, seeing as the community has started to grow

[Q] First steps with a new Nexus 7

So, finally my nexus 7 will be delivered on Tuesday. I'm neither new to android, nor to the world of nexus (Nexus S), but I don't have any experience with this piece of hardware. My first step will be rooting it, but are there any must-do things? Like on Nexus S Voodoo, NStools, etc. I know, there is no voodoo sound for nexus 7 (sigh...). I consider myself a poweruser, flashing, adb won't frighten me, so pretty much every customization is interesting for me which can give me even better user experience.
Thanks, and I'm very excited to be part of the n7 community!
Recommend app is pimp my ROM, also Nova Launcher by far and away better than stock
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Do a lot of reading and don't ask for eta on Roms and I'm sure u will fit in.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Spend some time reading and searching, start with the stickies. Post to an existing related thread rather than start a new one for the same thing. :good:
Might I suggest a ROM? I have had my N7 since July 20 and this is the best I have found.
It has KingBeatZ and flash built in.
Enjoy your new device.

I'm using Nova since its beta version, wouldn't use anything else.
When I read 'pimp my rom', i thought you were joking, never even heard of it, but most definitely will try on my Nexus S before the n7 arrives.

Seems interesting, I'm sure that stock ROM won't stay for long, first to try will be this!

I don't understand why does it annoy You. I was looking for some advice to have a nice and easy start with the n7, wasn't posting stupid things to the development section. I thought general section is a good place for it, to spare me few hours of reading, if anyone cares to answer at all. I already got some nice suggestion how to start, and thank you for that.
If this thread hurts anyone in any way, let it closed or moved by a moderator.
Not one nexus s general threads were opened only to say farewell, when they sell their phones to get an other one, i don't see how is my thread any worse than those.
Look at using wugfresh toolkit 1.6.2, its well explained, can view it on YouTube. That will root, unlock and install a great very easy to use recovery image twrp. just a matter of flashing roms/kernels from recovery, easy peasy. Don't forget to take nandroid backups, titaniuim backup for apps backups is the best by far.
Take a look at the following to greatly enhance sound (which is dodgy with stock)

Right there is the problem. No one is paid to be here and no one is here to "spare you a few hours of reading." This is a self-service forum, not a help desk. Drop the entitlement attitude and do your own work. Most everything you need to know is in here, and if it isn't THEN ask. Is that too hard to understand? It's not whether the thread "hurts anyone in any way," it's about not clogging the forum with threads that can be answered by you doing a little work on your own. You said you weren't a noob, so you should know that this is how XDA operates.

I will stop here, and won't answer to that, or it'll never end.
Some did actually help, others shouldn't waste their time answering me. I was politely asking for suggestions, because it's worked that way on nexus s threads. Someone had a question, others answered, even if it was about rooting or flashing, which has been covered million times. If there was a thread about the same problem, we posted the link to there, he got help, moderators closed the thread. I searched and didn't find the right thread to ask my Q, so I opened one. I didn't mean any trouble, and also some people actually answered. I was excited to get my n7, and wanted to know more about it, now I'm discouraged.
R: [Q] First steps with a new Nexus 7
Try multirom! The best n7 development! With it you can use as much ROM as you want, plus linux!
