hey me too from hk im another person who can confirm after install ce-star 2.8 rc3 with crack can write in japanese with i have not try if it works with keyboard because my version just make the keyboard not working and hard to hard reset but if it is just handwritting is alright
If you need only Japanese, the best solution is Asukal's LetsJapanNo6 (Japanese font) + IME_31J_F (input panels), plus a few reg edits to get the keyboard working. It will give you fully functional Japanese + English input (hardware keyboard, softkeyboard, handwriting). Search around, or follow the link below to get started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441402
* Note: the two cabs are standard for whatever (W)VGA device you install it on, but you may need to experiment with the reg edits since the X1 may behave differently than the TouchPro.
If you also need Chinese and/or Korean input, you will need to look for a different solution, such as CEStar.
Mahalos for the reply guys/gals Yes, I need to be able to read and write/type in Japanese because of the field I'm working in now. This is the first time I'm "kinda hacking" my phone...Don't wanna brick it because I'm no rich man
Just out of curiosity; anyone using Japanese IME on their X1?
Okay...I got the Japanese IME installed and "kinda" working. What I mean by that is:
1. I can no longer use my Qwerty board
2. I can't "backspace" if I make any mistakes
3. My Optical pad is now disabled
Does anyone have a workaround to this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1429764#post1429764
check this link, there you find the answer ... you have to change some regestry-settings. .. bcz the layout is messed ... just take TotalCommander to do so and after that everything will just work nice ...

The IME_31J_F cab makes registry changes that are intended for JPN phones (not WWE) because the cab is extracted from original Japanese ROMs. If you look at the link in my post above, you'll see the reg settings you need to change back.
Again, you should make a backup because I don't have an X1 to test it personally. You might not need all of the reg edits, or a different combination of the WWE reg settings and JPN reg settings. But those settings work perfectly for the Touch Pro, so they should be a good start for the X1.

Hi cmant
How is the japanese kanji handwriting recognition?
I just ordered a Xperia X1 and I really need to install japanese IME on it. Would really like to hear about those who tried that.

Thank for your answer.
I have 2 questions:
1-For kanji handwriting recognition do you have to write the strokes in the right order? That would be a real drawback for me since I don't know the stroke order of the that kanji I don't know!
2-And what do you mean by bundled? Is it included with the xperia X1? Where did you buy it?

Bulgarian ROM does not exist in nature. But I can make it. The truth is it takes a lot of my time. You will have all the resources at hand to translate.
I'm willing to try it in my spare time. But i'll need help with technical part.
I will be quite grateful even for a keyboard solution only.
I was thinking of spending some time how to make it, but a major issue is the number of the characters and how they fit conveniently is the touch keyboard.
There is a Russian version of Cyrillic keyboard that needs some tweaks but is done really well and looks great.
I also have some feeling that somewhere I met Diamond in Bulgarian. I guess it will be easy to borrow parts of the ROM from there.
I am willing to contribute with whatever I can. Let us see if we can get traction here.

Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3435488&postcount=1
It is early for whole ROM, but there is Bulgarian Manila3.
Just one corection! There IS Bulgarian ROM! I bought my HD with It. The only problem is that I flashed my HD 4 hours after I got it and I didn't dump the original ROM! Manila and most of the OS were in Bulgarian and there was a good BG keyboard just like the HTC one.

I couldn't find anywhere Bulgarian ROM. May be it's just localization like one from Sunnysoft.
Where from you bought HD with Bulgarian?
I bought mine from 2be 1 month ago. I don't know if it's just localization or not but Manila, menus, keyboard, and many of the programs were in bulgarian.

2be can flash back stock ROM with BG, if they don't want you can go to Oconnect. - they will.
Cleaned this thread up a bit. Please keep it on topic and abide by forum rules by using English Language
Ta
Rick
So after all is there any bulgarian orm to be used as a base atleast ?
Honestly i dont know WHY you need a Bulgarian ROM? for me and many other peoles is enought if we have Bulgarian Support in the Keyboard and you can do this easy with the Finger Keyboard witch is FREE software
Another one that is Super cool but is not free is Resco Keyboard PRO..
Excusme but if all the ROM is translated in Bulgarian/Cirilic i think will not look good and on the same time will be a bit confused because some technical words in English cannot be translated corectly on Bulgarian or at least will look FUNNY.
From the 1st time when i start to use Cell Phone befor alot of years i never asked my phone even to have Bulgarian Menu.. because they often translate it so FUNNY and Confused that is much more better to use it with English Menu, At least you dont need to be a English Professor to understand and to be able to work without problem with the WWE ROM
Yes it will be just like russian ?! But its nicer when you see it in you native language. Espacialy when Everything around us is in Latin and some of our children have started to write in their notebook at school in "Shliokavica"(Phonetical type of expression with latin letters) and after all whe have to be proud with the cyrillic
Hi,

Which language did you try?
From Dutch (# 413) to English (# 409)
I think it should work well, because some cooked HD ROMs with M2.5 can do.
Does anyone know, or can anyone test if this trick will allow me to turn a chinese language hd2 into english. The original diamond forum post says yes, but it doesnt indicate whether they turned an english one into chinese or vice versa.

Works almost perfect. Some things are not translated, but in general, it's great
Thanks a million
PS: I tried with english UK, and didn't translate all! But then I tried english US and translated more text!!!

First I used 809 (UK) and, for example, the Settings page was with the IDs and not the description (e.g. IDS_).
Now I've 409 (US) and it's better. The options are not all covered, but it's much better than the 809. Under the Start menu, there are few modifications, but not many.

But what do you mean with "main screen"? The first tab of sense? Or all sense? Because on me, sense is "translated", not all, but almost!
I meant sense.
Sorry for the confusion.

hey , can anybody hook me up with samsung original keyboard russian language , or explain how to add it to my jvs ?
I'd love some scandinavian letters on my JVT too. The Samsung Keyboard is awesome compared to the others, so is there any way that could be possible?
Well, I would recommend you to use "search" button on XDA. All the times I'm really surprised that it si better to strat a new thread and wait for someone's effort... one, common question to op and @Lepaz: are you guys, cleaning your beds in the morning, or are you still waiting for mum?
Well... ok...
First, go to Market and look for the gingerbread keyboard, and when you will have it installed, you can download dictionaries to it.
Or, you can take it here... keyboard at least, for dictionaries - still go to market:

ro better looking variant from here:

My problem is that the missing my language, Swedish.
Is it possible to add languages that are not available from the beginning in the clock?
If it is possible, how do you do this?
Grateful for advice

Android wear 1.x did not have the swedish language as an option what I can remember. But it should be possible to set swedish keyboard and voice recognition though.
