Can I use SEUS even with custom kernel and unlocked bootloader?
And is SEUS used to flash stock ROM?
After flashing stock ROM will my bootloader be locked again?

hw abou PCC? and what is the difference?
pcc and seus are different because pcc is a programm used for other stuff as well. pcc dosnt reapir as GOOD* as seus. seus is kinda outdated** but pcc is useless for helping you when youv bricked your x8 (hard brick)
seus is very good cuz you dont even need your phone turned on! you just need it in flash mode
*it can repair your x8 but it is more or less useless to do. its harder, but is a easyer software to get hold of
**yes, you heard me, outdated. its been around for a long time i suppose, so SE thoughtlessly created pcc, to replace our beloved seus. you can find an seus download on google. i used to have it but i installed linux mint 12 os on my netbook (small laptop, DUH) and it wiped all of my data (which i am glad of cuz i had to much crap on windows 7 (starter) ) hope this helped
if it did please press the thanks button

so u mean that seus is better at repairing than pcc right?
Yes point off seus is only update-repair software. Pcc,for example don't work with unlocked bootloader

First time i hear for SEUS. I'm using flashtool and SE PC Companion. SE PC Companion has drivers that you can connect your phone to pc. Without companion you can just cry!

Hi everyone, after some attempts to flashing 2.1 on my x8 (it's a prototype) i can't boot again, i get the sony ericsson logo that loops forever..
I've tried to repair it using seus, but it says that there are no updates for my phone and i don't get any repair options..
So i'm trying with bin4ry's flash tool, but with no luck, i've almost put every rom found here on xda but after the flashing process ends with no errors, i reboot the phone and nothing happens. the only thing i can access is xrecovery, but I have no backup to recovery from.
can someone help me??
Cheers
Luca
It also happen to me. Did you tried with pc companion? Go to software update, and click repair. This will install a clean android 2.1

thanks for the reply, but i can't connect to pc companion because the phone doesn't start, so i can only go in flash mode, no debug or usb..
Try to find prototype (brown) fw somewhere... if you know someone with setool box, i think he can get you prototype fw from support area...

When you go to flash your phone with X10FlashTool, select the option wipe data user, (or something like that, i can't remember now).. at least, it works for me.. XD

I noticed that i cannot repair my phone after installing a custom rom

Not all the time, once I bricked my xperia x8 and with SEUS there was no Repair button like there used to be and now there is...
So you can't say that it works all the time
Yeah, but we can say that flashtool works all the time (provided it has drivers from PCC)
ok.. how bout this..
for me seus works all the time,
flash tool not..
so use what is work for u.
Just a question
Don't worry... If you keep original phone's software, you can still update via SEUS. But also, I'm sure there always will be someone who'll decrypt latest firmware and post it here for flashing with FlashTool.
I don't think you can use seus once you've unlocked the bl.. I tried reflashing the stock rom and using seus to repair (as a test, not because I needed to!). and seus wouldn't work, complained of modded software..
however, I know someone who hasn't unlocked but still knows their way around the phone, they are going to get me the files from blob_fs so I will be able to create the ftf to flash from..
I will upload a link to it on here if someone else doesn't get there first!
Sent from The Arc!
The clever mods over on the play forum figured a way to flash ftf file
Alternatively there was another attempt that broke sim card being read but allowed accused to be used and relock so maybe this will be expanded on.

Possibly we can use SEUS. BUT, the SI (1234-5678, on the back of the phone) needs to be the same when you flash the firmware and do SEUS upgrades.
Still waiting to see if I can get hold of my original carriers blob_fs files, create ftf file, flash it, and attempt a repair using SEUS.
The ftf files around now, would not (necessarily) match your SI number.
How to fix a Hardbricked X8
I have worked out how to fix a hardbricked X8 WITHOUT using PC Companion or Flashtool. You can even use it if xRecovery doesn't work!
First, Download the executable here
Install on a Windows PC
Once installed, Update Service should start automatically. If not, find it in the Start menu.
Find the X8 from the list
It will ask you to connect your phone by taking out the battery, waiting 5 seconds before putting the battery back in again, then pressing and holding the Back button while inserting the MicroUSB cable into the X8
Release the back button when told to do so
Update Service will download the latest ROM, then flash it to your phone
Unplug your phone, then turn it on and it is guaranteed to work if you follow the instructions step by step
I hope this helped, and if it worked for you, hit the Thanks button!
SEUS isn't supported by SE anymore, but it works better than PCCompanion for fixing our phone
Everybody knows this and why do you say you don't need SEUS if you are actually explaining how to use it?

Sorry for my late reply as I have been finishing off my Android app and helping with CyanogenMod on the.Ace. I mainly posted this, not as a guide, but a way to download the latest version of SEUS, as it is hard to get hold of. I got this off a Sony Ericsson employee, and thought others may find it useful.

Hi, I've seen in your signature that you achieved a Quadrant Score of over 1700: what smartphone have you achieved this score on? If it's an XPeria X8 what have you done on it to achieve such a high score? I've never been able to get past about 1025-1030 (my X8 is both rooted, overclocked @ 729.6Mhz and JIT enabled, plus nAa kernel and bootloader unlocked). With that I've too never been able to get a Quadrant score above 1025. So would be curious to know what you have managed to do on this smartphone to get such a high score.

If you want to return to the stock rom 2.3.3 uses PcCompanion
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
press support zone--->update phone-->repair and follow the guide
if you want to go back to a 2.3.x you just flash the rom with respective FlashTool
Use the repair option in PC companion to go back to stock unrooted 2.3.3
computer cannot recognize my xperia x10
