Sorry for the dump question

Sorry, but this isn't the correct forum for your Terra Pad 1050.
According to this page, which I found thru Google your tablet is based on Intel Atom chipset, but Advent Vega and its clones are based on Nvidia Tegra chipset.
As for ViewPad 10S, you probably meant that this tablet is a clone of ViewPad 10 (NO "S" in model name, it is also based on same Intel Atom chipset like your tablet).
To find an appropriate forum for your tablet I would suggest searching some Google pages before posting in random forums.
Hint: terra pad 1050 forum
With that you'll find this forum link and hopefully more info how to install android on your tablet.
Best of luck installing Android on your tablet!

Thank you for the prompt answer

What models are being dev'd

I'm looking into buying the 183825U thinkpad but what to know if all the dev'ing is about thinkpads in general or more specific to the K1? I haven't looked at every single page of the forum yet so I may find my answer before I get back to this post. Thank you for your patience
Both have been rooted and are being dev'd further.
The "Thinkpad Android Development" sub-forum in fact has ROMs you can try out for Thinkpad and Ideapad devices (K1/A1).
There is a TPT ICS port also in progress from what I can see.
You can check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1490831
to see if its applicable to your specific device
Important is the version of the stock rom your device is shipped (For thinkpad tablet), because we only have root for devices with version 0075 or below. If you want ICS you need an WE, US or UK device. Looking at your nickname you are from germany? Then you device will be WE, so this part should be fine.
Thanks for the feedback, I just sold my acer iconia a500 and now on the search for a tpt 183825u. Koshu I live in america, been trying to learn German for years, just haven't had time time to submerge myself fully so my handle my not mean what I think it does, lol. I pretty sure it means "the crazies" but I wanted it to say "the madness" but I couldn't find a direct translation everything pointed back to "wahnsinn".
Ah, ok.^^ Well "wahnsinn" for madness is correct, craziness is more "Verrücktheit". But it depends a little on the context. "Wahnsinn" as noun is often used like "something unbelievable great". You could also say "Irrsinn" that's not exactly madness but without the ambiguity. btw. it's "der wahnsinn" and not "das wahnsinn"
Thank for the correction, in hind sight I wish I could change that lol. BTW I should have my TPT in about a week, I look forward to working with and on stuff with this community.

Thinkpad vs. Ideapad Tablets

Hello,
I see a lot of different products mentioned/referred to in these threads; I'm wondering if it might make sense to, perhaps, create a seperate forum for Ideapad tablets, since the Thinkpad tablets have different features, functionalities and even Operating Systems than most, if not all, Ideapads. I'm not sure how that would be accomplished, since I'm fairly new to this community, but I do see an increase of interest in the Ideapad android rooting/development, etc. Does anyone have any information, opinions, or otherwise any input about this? It'd be much appreciated. Thank you.

Agree
I also agree. I have a K1 Ideapad y sometimes I have found myself reading threads that belong to the thinkpad. Sometimes this can be confusing, and I think it might lead to someone bricking their ideapad downloading the wrong software.
This has been raised before and no clear consensus was reached.
The people to approach are the mods (see the top of the forum) who can forward such requests.
It's unlikely they'll fork this forum or create a separate Ideapad forum since this one gets relatively little activity (by comparison to, say, the HD2 or G-Note fora). A request to this effect was made a couple of months back and no change occurred.
A reasonable compromise is to clearly mark each topic with the device type to avoid confusion. A couple of us have tried to get this going but with little success.
Being pig-headed about it, this is the Thinkpad tablet forum and not a generic Lenovo tablet forum, but personally I don't have an issue with it being shared.

*WARNING* new Kindle Fire HD7 (KFSOWI)

For anyone who has purchased the new Kindle Fire HD7 (KFSOWI) please be aware this is not the same device as the 2012 Kindle Fire HD7 (KFTT) and therefore none of the advice posted in this forum is applicable.
I'm posting this before we see multiple posts re bricked devices from people who have been misled by Amazon's naming conventions.
Link to Amazon's specs for all their Kindle devices are here. Its pretty easy to identify what device you have.
https://developer.amazon.com/sdk/fire/specifications.html
IMO This device should be included in the HDX forum along with the other two 3rd gen devices. I've just acquired my first Kindle (KFSOWI) and am loving it but quickly became aware that there is very little support for it on XDA.
It would also be useful if Amazon's device naming conventions were followed in the various Kindle threads. This is the practice for other devices listed on XDA. eg International SGSiii is GTI9300, US LTE Version GTI9305 etc...
Perhaps a mod could look at this and sort it out?
EDIT - I have started a new thread in the HDX forum for discussion of the KFSOWI as i think it would be best discussed in that forum. Link

Good post. Hopefully others have read around the forum and seen the many other posts noting that none of the newer Kindle's have any root or other exploits available. I suppose an official sticky type of warning would not be such a bad idea though.

Wow. Thanks! Guess I can stop trying to root my KFSOWI. Tried several times, and thought it was the drivers...

Good to know! It's so confusing, Amazon UK currently have the 16 GB Fire HD on sale for £99, but it seems unclear which version that is. It lists a front-facing camera and microphone, so presumably it's the older model? Still, if there's a chance of getting the other one it wouldn't be worth the risk for me. CM still sounds kid of buggy on the KFTT anyway, so a Hudl might be the better option.
It says last generation right on the title of ad. Also, no camera and no HDMI output for 2013 KFHD firmware 11.xxx

So can anyone create a new topic about 3rd gen Fire HD?
because I'm trying to find something and at all forums I see mixup between old-hd7 and new-hd7 and no any new-hd7-specific threads.
So new topic will be pretty helpfull!

Thank you for this clarification, thought I could save money with a kindlefire hd but i lost 100bucks and got a useless piece of plastic.
Now I can stop loosing time try to root it for 1 weeks , good luck for the new devices root research !
EDIT : after little reading it seems HDX got rooted today ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542508 )
Does anybody may now if this root works also on KFSOWI 11.3.1.0 ? ( since KFSOWI got same OS it might maybe work ? )
At the moment it's only working on the 8.9 hdx (KFAPWA & KFAPWI). But it's only a matter of time before the other 2 new devices have root as well. I would advise owners of all 3 devices to use the hdx forum as that is where all the development for these devices will occur.
EDIT - I have started a new thread in the HDX forum for discussion of the KFSOWI as i think it would be best discussed in that forum. Link

Tested it and adresses wont match. I have a pretty slow internet connection, can someone download this:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/kindle-fire-updates/update-kindle-11.3.1.0_user_310084920.bin
and extract boot.img and build.prop (with winrar) and reupload it to this thread?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542456
The developers could change the kernel adresses fitting to our device and compile the exploit for us.

Or make use of the internet-feature named "links"
Root KFSOWI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544736
By the way: The question was asked here before the above root posting was created.

Model Number Confusion

Hi. I am thinking about buying a Transformer Pad TF701T TF701T-B1-GR. I have seen threads on rooting the Transformer TF701 but I'm not sure if they apply to this version.
If I find a root method and custom rom for Transformer TF701, is the process the same for all members of the TF701 family, or do I have to find something specifically for the exact type I get? If so, can anyone point me to where I would find that information about this particular tablet? I would like to know before I buy it as root and custom rom support is one of the biggest things I am looking for in a tablet.
This forum is for the TF101, the TF701 forum is here

Fix forum tablet description

Can somebody please fix the XDA forum shield tablet description located here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet
Maybe its just my ocd, but it bugs me the the tablet description at the top of the page lists the shield tablet as a Dual-Core processor
We'll take a look and amend if necessary, time permitting.
