I was wondering if someone would please make a tutorial video on how to root the kindle fire v6.2.2 using a Mac. It would really help me out a lot. I'm just not comfortable enough to root it without a video. And also maybe a video on how to install TWRP for Mac. If someone could make or show me a good tutorial it would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
AustinFire

So I can just I follow the video tutorial and use BurritoRoot3 instead of BurritoRoot1? Correct?
Yes, that's correct.

Thanks so much! I got it rooted and TWRP 2.0 is installed!
I have looked through the discussions on how to root the fire, but I am a COMPLETE novice, and some of the abbreviations and screen shots are confusing to me. What I need is step-by-step directions (with limited abbreviations) to teach me how to root my Kindle Fire. If this is already out there in a thread, I'm happy to be directed to it.
Thank you so much in advance!!
you just need one tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
extract it to c:\ and rename it to "kfu" so that it is c:\kfu
please read the op of kfu carefully and take a look at this post from dev of kfu:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20945694&postcount=506
in case you have troubles with the drivers:

good luck !
Check out nat3mil on YouTube as well if you want a video walk through. I don't know how many times I watched his demo before rooting my fire but it made it a lot easier! Good luck!

You cant install coustom roms without root as far as I know
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
Yeah without root u can't access or write to system partition as far as I know. U can install cwm though interestingly enough which I didn't know (I did it yesterday to my mates gt-s6500) then rooted from there. So who knows wait for someone with bit more experience to give u definitive answer but if u can, I never seen it and I used fair few devices.why u not want to root anyway?

Like this, there are many threads. There is even one where a member posted step by step.
But if you thinks it's difficult, perhaps you should not try it.

To be honest: "Custom Rom (which includes rooting)" and "noob" isn't a good match.
But make a test of your own: Read this and if you think you understand what you are going to do - do it. If not .... I think you know the answer.
Good luck.
Ok will work on when I will get up from my bed

I too am a noob to this but have managed to root and install a custom Rom and return my DHD back to stock. Best advice I can give from my experience is to google AAHK (I believe it has been removed from here) and read the effin manual enclosed within the zip file. It's one click and it will wipe and root your device. You can then install a custom Rom stored on Ur SD card through the Menu (HBOOT I believe). I know I don't have many posts on here but that's due to A LOT of time spent reading threads and then giving it a go. If you get stuck, I'm sure any questions you have have been asked here before

Ditto.
Search google for 'attn1 advanced ace hack kit'. Read his entire post, read the effn manual (inside the AAHK), read it again, then quiz yourself. Search youtube for other people using it, to give you an idea of how it should go. Search youtube for how to flash a custom ROM too. You'll figure it out.
If anything does go wrong, don't freak out, and come here for help.
Am a noob... rooted my phone two weeks ago and installed Android Revolution HD 6.3.3. Also tried out CM 7.2.
Rooting with AAHK is pretty easy, though the manual is not as clear as it could be. Download the Kit, read the manual and will be happy to help you with the parts which are not clear. It is still fresh in my mind.

Rooting the Desire HD was probably the easiest root I've had to do. I blindly tried to root my father's Galaxy S II and installed the wrong kind of firmware and it was a mess, DHD has a simple program which you can even root with, one click and reading the EFFN MANUAL is all it takes.

Easy? It is totaly insane! So many things to go wrong, first they don't recommend windows, you have to get Ubuntu, find your way in ubuntu (how do they say prompt in Linux? Ahhh, console? No, TERMINAL!) Then it is pretty easy, just one line downloads root and runs it, but I still prefer the method I used to root my wife's Galaxy Ace. Just copy a zip onto a SD card and boot in recovery and apply update from SD card. No need to connect it to the PC, worry about stupid windows USB drivers etc.
But it works and that is important. The manual is makig things more complicated than they need to be. Only once you do it you realize that if is not so complex as manual wants you to believe
cheers,
D.
Downgraded it with hack kit , can't root because of sd card

I'm sorry but are you telling me you installed a completely new OS onto your computer for rooting your DHD? It works in Windows easily, Macs too I think.

Really? Oh dear, installing a new OS definetly doesn`t make sense for just installing another rom on a stock dhd.
Reading guide, doing whats written there ................. aaaaaaaaand it´s done.
Changing/Messing with the OS on an expensive device is not something you should do unless you understand what your doing. This is a Development site. Now a rom flashing site. Being a noob is no excuse for not following the forum rules. We were all noobs at one time or another.
You search, you read, you read some more, and then as your done reading.........you read a little bit more. Then you go about rooting and flashing the phone. When/If you run into issues, guess what you do. You repeat the above and search and read. Then if your still stuck and there are no threads about your issue and you followed ALL the directions that you could find, then you open a thread and ask for help.
