alfs kernel and droidwall with gingerDX - XPERIA X8 General

Droidwall doesn't work perfectly, try to turn on and turn off the firewall, and after it doesn't work. Try to do this a few times...when droidwall doesn't work, my phone doesn't connect to the internet, and it doesn't activate the background data, and generally the phone works slowly...it happened with the no_fps_cap kernel that may phone restarted automatically, when droidwall showed me the error: phone is probably not rooted, if the phone is rooted than check "su" (something like this)
Anyway now i am using the v06 of alfs kernel, i had the same problame with droidwall, internet, background data, so i restarted my phone, and now my phone is fast and is working greatly, and i have cancelled droidwall...
sorry for my bad english i am writing from italy ciaoooooooooo

Random reboots :(

I recently updated my phone to new firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6.
I rooted the phone, installed xRecovery and enabled JIT.
Now my phone is rebooting randomly, is anyone experiencing this problem ?
I had this problem after enabling JiT
How did you enable it? Automatically through xRecovery or manually?

I enabled it using xRecovery
Me too and phone was restarting so many times it started to piss me off. Try disabling it (through xRecovery again) and following this thread (unfortunately you will have to use ADB) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877565

Internet browser [issue]

I have a really wierd issue with the internet browser.
It does not access data through 3G, but it is accessing it through wifi. All other apps can access Internet through 3G, but only the Internet browser cannot. I even tried with Opera Mobile Browser, even that does not work.
So currently i cannot browse any webpage using 3G. I really need this as 3G is the only thing i use.
The FW is XXJPM, and these are the mods i have done (in that order):
1. Root + Busybox
2. Live Wallpapers enabled
3. Deodexed
4. 5 lockers and extended power options mod
5. Gingerbread Theme from Kyrillos
I have just flashed it yesterday. Not done anything else. And only needed the browser after doing all these mods, so don't know if it was a result of these mods or was the issue in stock.
Since no-one replied - Wiped data/factory reset, Wipe cahe, still same issue. I reflashed JPM still same issue. Flashed JG6, same issue. Flashed JP2, still same issue.
I don't know what to do... Someone PLEASE HELP.

Set your access point correctly, the apn menu in network and wireless settings. Make sure you haven't installed any apn blockers, and finally, make sure you have 3g data enabled by the operator.

APN configured properly,
3G is enabled been using it for past 4 months,
Freshly flashed FW ... nothing is installed ...
Every other app can connect to internet no issues...
Only thing that i can't get is Web browsing (neither through internet browser nor by 3rd party applications like Opera for web browsing)
Tried wireless tether - The computer's browser is capable of browsing via the mobile's network...
So i don't think there is any problem with the service provider. It is at my end only and i can't figure out what ...

[Q] SuperUser Help! root acting funny

so i just got 4.3 on my nexus 4 flashed PA and gapps (did next to latest gapps so got promted to update after gapps crash) and i was already rooted.. also didnt recovery any apps or anything completely fresh and new start.. so i noticed the superuser option in the settings and when i press it, it says "currently no apps with superuser policies"... OK .. so my original root still works thats fine, but its acting funny.. like using tasker, i run my task called eco which governs the cpu to run at min384 and max 1024GHz and it says "tasker been granted superuser permission for an interactive shell" so i set the governor for the cpu on tasker to interactive shell and it still doesnt fix my cpu frequency.. and like my other task of when im connected to my wifi, turn off data and keyguard.. data turns off fine but my keyguard has issues... sometimes when i randomly press back it just locks my screen and if i run my task it rarely actually sets my keyguard off.. and i know my tasks are setup perfectly cuz i used it on 4.2.2 and it worked like a beaut.. but its not only my tasker that has issues like my LMT launcher for my second pie acts strange.. like the back button doesnt work and the same msg comes up as last time when the action was granted but not performed.. it says ive been granted for an interactive shell which i dont understand what it means.. everything was default and i havent changed any govenor is there a setting i might have changed on my phone that changed it away from being interactive and thats y its not properly working.. sorry for long post but i need help this is driving me mad.. thanks for ur time!
plz help someone, rare bug where i need to reflash ROM??
in superuser settings, disable toast notifications first.
also, many things have changed umder the hood in 4.3, so many things might not work properly. some root apps havent been updated yet for 4.3, so some might not work properly. also, if i can interpret what you wrote, your rom hasnt disabled mpdecision. i suggest you read around more, youll probably be able to fix your issues.

this same thing happened to me yesterday when i was trying to download stuff from xposed, it said downloading error 504. i didnt do anything with my phone like the guides tell u. they say delete cache and data and etc from play store app in app manager. i didnt do that.
this is what i done- i disabled mobile data as i was using wifi but i generally just keep it on just incase . then i fully turned off my router and then switched it back on. then i made my phone forget my wifi and then i set it up again. then everything was fine and all was back to normal. i heard this happens sometimes, dont do any big steps just be patient and it will sort out with time, as its a gateway error and nothing u or the service can do about it- i know this according to what ive already read. :good:
ok, thanks nayanwaghmare, but my problem is a little diferent, I can download, apks, from any source, but when I reach the screen where you see the permissions an the options to cancel or install, the button for.installing does nothing, only the cancel or back work, only the play store has no problem, as it installs automatically, I dont know what to do
reflash your rom i would say
I will try that , thanks

Do you have any screen overlay app running, like screen filter or lux? You need to disable those to be able to click the "install" button -- this is a security feature in android.
thank you very much!!!! I just solved the issue, thank you very very much man,

Phone Lags after root and Greenify Problem

I just rooted my N910C and i noticed it lags? i try to install Greenify and also it lags sometimes it wont even ask for SuperSU access and i tried turning off the power saving and even if its off the icon on status bar is still there. another thing is that when i install greenify i can't un install it normally i tried on google store and the only option is Deactivate. i tried uninstalling it via "Drag icon and drag to the trash can icon" and it says that i need to disable the administrator access and i tried unchecking it but it lags. so what i did was uninstall it via titanium back up and it worked. but still my phone lags any suggestion?
another problem is that my computer does not detect my phone anymore? but when i plug it in it charges and the "windows notification sound" knowing that it detects a device being plugged but i cant see it on my computer so i cant access the Internal storage
update*
so i tried inserting my phone to another PC to make sure and the drivers installs but when installing the MTP device it fails
please i need help i know the root process triggered knox so warranty is already voided

I don't know if your Note 4 version is the same with mine (Mine is N910H), mine is rooted + greenify but I experience a little to no lag.
Bluetooth pairing in an instant.
Apps open in an instant.
Buttons response in also quick.
Perhaps background process or some rogue apps do the lag?

Yes iv'e tried slimming down to know the problem so what i did was
1) flash stock firmware (status ok)
2) root my device (status ok)
3) install greenify, six axis & some adblocker (status ok)
4) install xposed (status ok)
5) install xposed binaries and update (status phone lags)
6) uninstall xpoesed binaries amd updates (status ok)
Just do a search here; S-health app and Private mode interferes with xposed (or is it the other way around?) There are some settings you can change (disable secure storage in build.prop) that will get rid of the lag caused by xposed.
I concur that it is the exposed framework that is the culprit. It doesn't work well on samsung kitkat phones but only CM and AOSP. It will even ruin your private mode! So as for convinience I don't install it on Sammy phones
