Feel free to discuss what battery your using, how much battery life your getting out of it, which kernel and rom your using ect. A lot of us strive for battery life over perfomance. Also please post battery stats screenshots if possible
I did with my first G1, after dropping it one morning. The USB connection broke internally. I worked with Steve Kondik on it for awhile, hoping it was something simple, to no avail. In the end, it just required a bit of solder.
Well my charging port seems to be ok as far as damage but I did replace the battery and it's running like brand new now it's a 1700mah DE (digital energy) battery made for the original evo 4G but works great on the shift.
Glad you got it sorted. Was just going to suggest a new Batt. I picked up two 2000mah Batts on Amazon for $13 shipped. Had them checked for actual mah, only 1800mah. But still batter than stock 1500mah. Plus for $13 shipped. Hell Sprint wanted $29 for a stock one. Plus so far the Amazon ones are lasting a good 35% longer with the same use, after only two cycles.

Well Dammm they've gone down a hellua lot . HERE is where the Batts I got are. I couldn't complain for what I paid for them. But now hell, I might order another set for the hell of it .

Yeah I was lookin around, lots of fakes up there. $10 for 2 2000mah batteries cant be beat. Mine is definitely over a year old at this point. lol

I hear that. The Stock New HTC Batt that I gave my wife wouldn't even last 8hrs. That's after being conditioned. When she first started using it total use time was only 5hrs . No excuse for that .

It's really funny cuz it coincides with the replacement with the replacecment of my car battery!! Sears Die Hard FTW! Just make sure you get it replaced within 3 years!

So, can we confirm the Imagio battery works in the Incredible? If so, I'm golden as I have three batteries for the Imagio.

Since 1750 mAh is about 35% more than 1300 mAh, can you say that it will last you about 35% longer? I am trying to see if it is worth it.

Doesn't the 1500mah battery from the Sprint Hero work? That could be a low cost alternative.

Pretty sure battery training only applied to older batteries. It's no longer needed with modern devices.

yup lol, if it's lithium ion(most phones are) then you dont need to "train" it, there is no memory effect.

Replenish for android phone, or if he wants a phone that kinds seems the same as the instinct(ugghh how I hated mine), the Samsung Seek or LG Rumor Touch have similiar ui's and button layouts.

Hmm, I think the seek or rumor touch sounds like the best thing, if you don't want the 10 dollar charge for smartphones that is. Also, he might like the Sanyo Inuendo by Kyocera.

Ok, I looked at the website, and the three I mentioned above, are the only phnes that: do not have the 10 dollar charge, are touchsceen. The replenish says it "saves you 10 dollars a month" which I think implies they aren't charging for premium data on it.

Don't get the transform... its a pile. The optimus works well Ive heard... otherwise may as well get the evo, epic or nexus in my opinion.. or a non smartphone.
With Android you get what you pay for and lots of the cheap ones don't perform well. Some to the point of being painful to use.

the screen is a little smaller...but has the same resolution
in some aspects it does outshine the epic & evo screen for crispness due to this
also the development came along really fast for the shift
it overclocks to 1.5ghz reliably (i would never overclock the epic) and battery life is upwards of double that of the epic...despite the so named power saving samoled.

You are wrong in every comparison you just provided as I own and regularly use both the Epic and the EVO Shift. Battery life on both is about equal. The Epic has a much better screen and the speed on both phones is comparable with the Epic being slightly quicker out the box. If its for his dad I doubt he will be rooting and overclocking.

Yep, just an update, he called around and Best Buy had the epic for free today, and they waved the $10 charge for one year, no BS... He is in love, but nw I have to provide the support, and I know I wont be able to keep my hands off of it when Im at the his house, ofcourse Im gonna push him to put on my ROM (which is almost done,I need 2 theme questions answered, and trying to add journaling by default again, any help?)... So I just said your gonna need to root to take all that bloatware off, the look I got was priceless... I almost wish he got the Replenish, but since the 10$ fee was waved,he got the best deal... Thanks to everyone, Im gonna use all 5.

Charger port broke on my Evo earlier at work today, & I just filed a claim online, & Asurion are currently replacing OG Evos with 3D's, will have mines tomorrow

Mines is from insurance since Sprint stores won't replace Evos with broken charger ports

My charging port has been loose & I've been putting off taking it in. I just might have to now. I didn't think that the 3D was worth the upgrade, but it's worth the replacement.

Wow, sounds like a pretty kick ass deal. I was considering doing an insurance claim cause my power/unlock button kind of stopped working but it works now, kinda. Has a mind of its own, works sometimes and does work other times... I was wondering how they would be doing replacements since they stopped making the OG Evo. I also felt that the 3D was not worth the upgrade at all, but hell I would gladly take one to replace my old Evo. Only thing I would miss is the dev community and the stupid amount of choices we have as far as roms and mods lol. I think it is safe to say that no other android phone has a bigger dev community than the OG Evo.

That's exactly what I thought. I wasn't gonna use an upgrade on it but a trades totally worth it
I love my EVO too, but I wouldn't be that unhappy if I had to upgrade. I do enjoy being able to change ROMs whenever and to whatever I want basically, but I've tried AOSP, I've tried MIUI, and I keep coming back to Sense, so I'd probably just go to Eternity ROM on 3D and be done with it. I would still miss my EVO though.
I know that the OP of the previous thread supposedly asked for the thread to be closed, but seriously, I came home early to be able to install Miui onto my mom's Atrix so she could get off the CM7 beta2.
I guess for now I'll have to install the latest 'CM7'-ish rom for her, considering the Atrix still isn't officially supported.
You could always develop it yourself instead of whining. The developers owe you nothing! I know if I was the dev I wouldn't release it just because of people like you!

As far as I've experienced on the CM7 build for the Atrix, the battery life is simply atrocious along with the lack of webtop and proper HDMI-out support.

I am owed nothing from developers.
But when I read that a build of some ROM is coming x day, and I take the time to come home to help my mother put that on her phone only for it to (as of yet) not come to fruition, I am less than pleased with said developer.
They still owe me nothing, but they have less than my full satisfaction.
MIUI is based off of CM7 so chances are more than likely the same stuff won't work that doesn't work on CM7 for the Atrix.
Battery life is my main problem with CM7, it just wont last more than 2/3rds of a day. I've been finding myself to bring the charger wherever I go.
Here's to hoping that the developer who was kind enough to even think of getting MIUI for our Atrix devices, gives us a more solid timeframe.
It's all about setting expectations I guess. For me, my expectation of the Atrix in itself has been surpassed with the bA2tf CM7 release. I guess I'm easy to please!

I'm not getting the whole " my battery doesn't last on cm7 " I can get a solid 8 hours of constant use without the need for a charger.. 10 % per hour give or take. With the stock kernal. I even nought the siedio 3500 mah extended battery. And find I really don't need it ATM.
While miui would def rock to have on our atrix... I'm content with cm7 for my needs. And not in anyway getting caught up in the where is this or that drama.. sit back enjoy your phone. Lol

Looking for pity and using your mom's well being in her phone-life to get it? You are the type that will drive slowness up for miui development for the Atrix.
You should buy your mom a new phone and try not reporting it to the world for a change.

yea...at the beginning of the day i had really high hopes for this and now I'm not sure where this thing is going....thats why i closed my miui thread because i figured there was going to be a lot of bickering since it still hadn't been released
