Yeah, download Fring. You can sign into your Skype account and video chat with them.

i was waiting for this response LOL ud have 2 locked doors to go through gate and then apartment complex doors i didnt want to miss UPS guy so i left him an envelope with 20 bucks in it and key to get through gate lol apparently he took the bait usually they leave a note and i have to hunt my package down at stupid delivery place luckily i thought of solution other then calling off work to wait for my EVO im sure they wouldnt have been happy so i had to compromise

Just got mine too! its gonna take sometime to get use to, coming from a 3.5 inch screen iphone user, its worth it though

Worth it

Other then the nexus one I would say this phone is worth it if you're on tmobile.
Ps. Phone still hasn't died from purchase trying to kill for battery training

I am just fully charging it first... Also agree, best phone T-Mo has right now.

Pretty sure battery training only applied to older batteries. It's no longer needed with modern devices.

yup lol, if it's lithium ion(most phones are) then you dont need to "train" it, there is no memory effect.
yes I know this phone's lithium polymer, but thats based off of lithium ion, so same no memory effect still applies

Hi all. I got a myTouch 4G by T-Mobile, and wondering, do they sell extended batteries for this yet?? I searched eBay from top to bottom, but I don't find any. Is it too soon to look for one, yet?? Thank You

I know that g2 takes batteries from Droid Inc and Evo(?). I don't have mine yet but we can look at the battery model and see if we can match it to something existing out there?

Yes, my myTouch 4G takes a battery from my old HTC Touch Pro2. I sold my old phone and I still have this battery. But the door is the problem.

From all tests I have seen done on batteries no extended capacity battery that fits in the stock battery enclosure has EVER beaten the stock battery in ANY HTC device (reasonably recently)

I have a battery that fits, too. I can't find a back cover/door to accompany it

well, ebay now has a bunch for sale.
they are mostly all chinese knock offs, but they tend to work alright, (I have 2 for my old G1 that are working just fine.)
AND there are a few OEM HTC batteries there as well, for about 20-30$

Yep, looks like it, but may just be a spare vs extended - doesn't say anything about specs, capacity.
Good option to have, but $50 is pretty steep.

eBay is very good, too. I'm pretty sure that an EXTENDED battary not an original one (daewond3r), is going to be sold on eBay. And ONCE AGAIN, I HAVE THE BATTERY, I NEED A RED DOOR!!!

Knock Off Battery
i wouldn't buy a knock off battery off ebay... i bought a so called 2000 mAh slim fitting battery for my TP2 that didn't need a new back door and was very mad about the purchase... the battery was about 1300 mAh rather then 2000 mAh...

Battery info thread

This thread will be here for discussing information about batteries for the HTC Evo shift 4G. Feel free to discuss what battery your using, how much battery life your getting out of it, which kernel and rom your using ect. A lot of us strive for battery life over perfomance. Also please post battery stats screenshots if possible

I did with my first G1, after dropping it one morning. The USB connection broke internally. I worked with Steve Kondik on it for awhile, hoping it was something simple, to no avail. In the end, it just required a bit of solder.

Well my charging port seems to be ok as far as damage but I did replace the battery and it's running like brand new now it's a 1700mah DE (digital energy) battery made for the original evo 4G but works great on the shift.

Glad you got it sorted. Was just going to suggest a new Batt. I picked up two 2000mah Batts on Amazon for $13 shipped. Had them checked for actual mah, only 1800mah. But still batter than stock 1500mah. Plus for $13 shipped. Hell Sprint wanted $29 for a stock one. Plus so far the Amazon ones are lasting a good 35% longer with the same use, after only two cycles.

Well Dammm they've gone down a hellua lot . HERE is where the Batts I got are. I couldn't complain for what I paid for them. But now hell, I might order another set for the hell of it .

Yeah I was lookin around, lots of fakes up there. $10 for 2 2000mah batteries cant be beat. Mine is definitely over a year old at this point. lol

Nice, time for everyone to get some new batteries lol. I have to say like Vicodan mentioned that mine was also over a year old. Now this replacement one should last another year if not hopefully more since the stock htc batteries are crap I.m.o.

I hear that. The Stock New HTC Batt that I gave my wife wouldn't even last 8hrs. That's after being conditioned. When she first started using it total use time was only 5hrs . No excuse for that .

It's really funny cuz it coincides with the replacement with the replacecment of my car battery!! Sears Die Hard FTW! Just make sure you get it replaced within 3 years!

Wish Sears made a Die Hard Cellphone Battery . Now that would be awesome.
