is there a way to install android in my htc hd2 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello there;
I accedently wiped my htc hd2 using tak29 thinking I would be able to download android latest version. Now I wiped it completely and all I can get are three different sceens:
1- when I power it on I can get the white scree with htc logo and it stays still till I power it off.
2- when I power it on and hold it down simultanousely with vol down it takes me to the blue+green+white screen and usb script underneeth.
3- If I power it on and holds power on simultanousely with vol down and up I can get to factory reset but it wont do me any help.
Could you please tell me wher to go from here;
Thanks alot

Thank you sam for your reply.
I seemed to get lost. I carfully read your scripts and downloaded them and extarcted them up but no avail. I stuk on the begining of the steps where it says "FLASH YOUR HTC HD2 WITH MAGLDR" The line shows 0% and nothihng changed. Would you mind if If you give to me in setps but very refined.
Thanks.

My apology sam.
It worked fine with me second time after I first installed "HARDSP"
Thank you so much.

Ya.
Downgrade to HSPL 2.08 and you have the ticket to Android.
HD2 Toolkit is your best friend.
What ROM do you use now?

Before I start I googled and tried methods I could and all failed.
My phone was working Link Hereperfect with no issues I had installed the DFT LEO Stock Desire NAND Rom.
A week ago it died and I charged it and powered it back up and got the white screen. It wouldnt go away until I pushed the yellow button on the back. Problem solve I would think.
Two days ago on my way to San Francisco it restarted and turned white. I tried all methods I found here and google none work. when I hold the down vol button I do get the 3 color screen and thats it. I attached an picture of what my phone says.

bump for what? You are just stating what happened to your phone.

I like your answer... full of sense
@isaiah33
Do you realize that you didn't ask anything?
Do you post these nice explanations to inform us that stopping a device by removing suddenly its power supply is not good?
Then ok, thanks. Ask for a sticky.
@crx4xharder
If you're boy's phone can only boot in the first level loader... I think a week-end if long enough to make extensive trouble shooting
Ok, I agree I'm not nice... it's just to make you realize that if you want to ask someting... then ask, no need to make us imagine the question you may want someone to answer.
My question is how do I get this fixed? How do I get android back up and running. I want to get rid of this white screen.

What was the version of MAGLDR you had anyway? The ROM you are/were running is outdated by today's standards anyway.
I would do a task29 and start over. Then flash MAGLDR 1.3, CWM 1.3 and then a new ROM.

If you get bootloader simply flash a stock WM rom or MAGLDR, whats hard about that?
i tried flashing with task29 but it sticks at 0%
Do not use task29 for your problem. Fortunatly it doesn't "clear" the first level bootloader.
Press the vol-down key.
In boot loader, flash:
a/ a WM6 ROM (to do this you can just put a LEOIMG.nhh on the root of your SD)
b/ MAGLDR (the version you need for the build you want)
If you want to put a DFT build. In MAGLDR (so press "end call" and start the phone... keep end call pressed) choose the option "USB flasher" (something like this.
With DFT (in admin) flash:
a/ a DFT build
b/ CWM
If CWM, boot in MAGLDR, choose "AD Recovery" (for CWM 1.13)
In CWM choose the option to flash a zip build.
That's all... good question, good answer.
All what I said if well expained in diffferent sticky. You will find there a lot of step-by-step or video explanations.
Hope this helps.
He doesn't need to clear the first-level bootloader. You can see from his screenshots that he gets into the bootloader just fine. Task29 will format the NAND storage just as flashing a WinMo ROM does. The RUU does a task29 as part of the flashing process anyway. Doing just a task29 saves the time of flashing the ROM.
Either way, you don't "flash" task29. You run the command via mtty. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're saying when you "flash" task29 and it stayed at 0%.
What was the meaning of my "Fortunatly"
Clear the first level... brick the phone.
So for you task29 is equivalent to flashing a WM?
With or without radio?
(real question, I really don't know exactly what it's doing...)
I know that it "cleans" the NAND but it's not enough for me.
Anyway, I realize it will be better for me to read the dedicated thread or search on google.
For him I keep my advice to do all (task29, full flash from the beggining including WM). It's useless normally but as he has a problem...

For HD2 "mtty" is not required, there is a task29 nbh.

I tried updating the stock rom and it has a issue when it comes to the radio it says Radio Fail. This is the right rom I downloaded it off the tmobile website. I dont know why its failing. If you could help truc007 I am willing to help donate to you if I ge it working.
I couldnt flash the task29 so I ran the commands in mtty and flashed a rom and booted, still wsod...
Just flash back to the original ROM, then update radio, install magldr.

he doesnt really mean 'root', he means how to flash it.
@OP
step by step (ill let you look up the details)
into bootloader (do all your flashing from here) connect usb and wait for 'serial' --> 'USB'
*at each step when the phone reboots, immediately hold vol down to re enter bootloader*
hspl4.exe (see my sig) - choose 2.08.hspl
bootloader
if you have a regular hd2 flash a radio, 2.11.50.x or higher.
If you have a tmous you can skip the radio step.
bootloader
flash magldr
when phone restarts, press and hold end key till magldr menu appears
(you can actually start pressing the end key just before the first boot logo vanishes, save 5 seconds wear and tear on the end key, hehe)
You are now ready to flash android roms, in several ways, (nand via daf.exe, nand via clockwork zip, you can flash wp7 using magldr, use magldr to boot to android on teh sd card, etc etc). Far too many variants to cover in a simple 123.

[Q] Aaaah im so in a mess please help.

Ok im now in a proper mess.
Ok ive been battling with trying to get Android on my HD2 i have manged no prob with the MAGLDR in the past but wanted to change to the CLK version.
I tried all the tried the tips etc and have downloaded the HD2 Android Nand Toolkit but i just couldnt get it working. Once i thought i did I get CLK wokring I installed the ZIP file but it just got stuck on the HTC splash screen. The only way i can it to actually boot is to put the stock Winmo ROM back on. So at the moment I have the stock ROM just with SPL. As soon as i run the Task29 option in the toolkit it then fails to load. Could somebody please advise me on what to do.

You need Hardspl from Cotulla. Search through the threads you'll find it. but if you had magldr installed you should have all the the necesary elements. using the tool kit you have to hold the volume down than power on. wait for your phone to say usb. Than proceed to task 29. Than when the screen shuts off hold the volume down again before the screen comes on. Pick your partition size, Than hit the partiton button wait for it to do its thing than hold the back key and some text should come on your phone ending with something like fastboot commands suspend. Flash the recovery. than when it go off again hold home until you get in to recovery. Hope that helps.
Cheers for the help. Ive got as far as the revovery install i had a load of text on the screen the last line of wich is 2690 --Portchange-- and the pc is sitting on waiting for device.
also this is all it does when i turn the phone on now

Are you holding the back button until the text comes on?
Have you successful installed hspl? Successfully installed magldr and successfully installed cwm?
Is the Rom your installing a magldr version? Did you get it from the Android nand thread?
Is your SD card working is it formatted to fat32?
Are you installing the Rom from SD?
Is it a .zip file?
Edit/ oh clk..... lol never used it

If i hold the power with the back button or the power/hangup button the text goes up to --portchange-- line if i hold the home button it shoes the line

Pc is still saying waiting for device.
I have magldr but cant seem to boot to it and i have SPL-2.08.HSPL CotullaHSPL
I also tried to install magldr again and it gives a USB init failed Info \\rspl\rspl..cpp (736) but the phone is showing USB with the red\green\blue\white screen.

alls ye really need mate if you have flashed spl 2.08 or above is get task29 plug phone via USB turn phone off turn back on while holding vol down key untill tri colours appear then it says USB at bottem, run task29 from computer phone will do the rest, get magldr go back to tri colour with USB at bottem run ROMUpdateUtility install it then try the rom in my signature first typhoon and download the recovery of his page and install that specific one then flash your rom, its got installation on typhoon thread....
Cheers for the help. Ive re-installed MAGLDR and have ClockworkMOD recovery v3.0.0.5 working and I have a rom that i have downloaded and am currently downloading one of yours Laney, before i do anything clockwork MOD is showing "Failed to find Cache partition to mount at \cache.
Dont you have an sd card inserted?

How can i go from Magldr to Clk?

Currently on Mag, and want to go to Clk.
Can i use Hd2 toolkit??
if so, how?
if not, how??
Task29 and then install cLK.
task29 isnt required, but shouldnt do a harm to your nand, as long as you dont use it too much. Just download the latest clk build 1.5x, copy the .nbh file to your sd (sd sizes above 8gb coukd cause problems) and flash the file via the 3colored display (just start your mobile, hold down the volume down button till the 3colored display appears and wait a second.. you shoukd get automaticly asked if youbwant to install the leoimg.nbh file, confirm)

Agree with both post above me.
What I do (I use the HD2 Toolkit)
1. Task29
2. Choose my repartition size and cache, and click repartition (this install's cLK as well from the HD2 toolkit)
3. Let the phone boot in cLK and than press Install Recovery in the HD2 toolkit.
4. Hold the home button while the phone is on the white HTC screen and your phone will boot in Clockworkmod
5. Flash your rom
I wrote a manual a time ago for cLK, if you want to I can send it to you.
I've written a step by step guide for both magldr and clk if you still have questions.

I don't understand either. I mean if you don't know what you're doing, why don't you research and google it or something. I have no problem helping people, but I've already pointed you to the I've written which answers every question asked in this topic and other people have answered as well.
This is ridiculous if you can't read the responses people have given you which if you would've read in the first place have been answered 109283219837 times already.
No sympathy from me. This is spam, and a waste of time. PLEASE read before posting.

For flashing recovery, you need some command line experience. BTW, do you have the required drivers installed?

It will stay stuck on the T-Mobile screen because it has not OS!!!!!
Task29 is ok, after Task29 you have to get back to the tri color screen.
Than open HD2 toolkit, than select your partition size and cache and click repartition, this will install cLK
After this you let the phone boot untill you see the white screen you mentioned in another post, you are in cLK.
From here, go to HD2 toolkit, select install recovery and let the phone reboot (you need correct drivers for this)
Now hold the HOME button when rebooting and your in Clockworkmod.
I got it, it's working fine now

[Q] Error while booting to CLK recovery

Hello
I just flashed CLK on my hd2 using the toolkit, I also flashed the toolkit recovery (which i believe was v 4.3)
Now when I try to boot to recovery using Home + red buttons I get this error in the middle of the command lines
"ERROR: CANNOT READ RECOVERY_HEADER"
I tried to wipe all and reflash everything again but I keep getting the same error.
I looked everywhere but can't find any answer.
Is there any other way I can install a new ROM without accessing the CWM? like using the command prompt.
I also attached a screenshot of the error.
Any help would be very much appreciate it. and Please if there is a solution please show the steps for it cuz I am still new with CLK.
The latest stable version of clk is v1.5 which also installs a version of cwm , there is even one that installs twrp recovery too!
No links on my phone but will be easy to find...
BTW did you select clk install recovery option after clk reparation?

What version of hspl do you have installed?
If it's hspl 2.08 or hspl 3.03 try this,
first do a task29 using the toolkit
Then place the LEOIMG.nbh file on the root of your sdcard.
Now power on the device while holding the volume down button.
When asked to proceed with install push the power button..
This should install clk 1.5 with a default partition size which you can change from within clk later!
Let me know if it works.

I did task29 then downloaded the rom file from t-mobile webisite then put phone on multicolored with usb debugging and ran the file on my computer.
I actually had this phone for almost 3 years now and I flashed about 4 different versions of android but i was using mgldr.
the phone was doing great with me but about 4 days I wanted to go to recovery to back up the phone I got "1E FATAL HIT 1"
I read that some one had the same issue and they switched to clk and it worked fine, and someone flashed stock rom then custom and it worked.
but nothing is working with me, I have 2.08 hspl and I've been using that for a long time, I tried 3 sdcards using both ways of flashing (toolkit and putting LEOIMG file in the sdcard) but it failed in all of them.
PS: thank you for the thank though I have been here since I got the phone and never got one thanks haha.

Now I do, I think!
I have asked you what it says on the multicolored screen a few times.
Pic please?
Flashing stock rom should do the trick as regards verifying that it's not a hardware problem, but it will have wiped your hspl!
So to install clk v1.5, you will have to re-flash hspl 2.08 (no zeros after the 8) or hspl 3.03!

OK, I would not give up yet.
Re-install hspl and this time select "3.03", then task 29 and try to reinstall clk 1.5...
Edit: If the last thing you did was install stock it won't work with hspl installed,
It should say something like..SPL-2.08.0000, use the hspl 3.03 package to downgrade to this spl version and then install stock from pc as normal (MAKE SURE you are using the correct stock rom for your phone) or as I said, try the above...

It should say something like..SPL-2.08.0000, use the hspl 3.03 package to downgrade to this spl version and then install stock from pc as normal (MAKE SURE you are using the correct stock rom for your phone) or as I said, try the above...

I am getting really frustrated now!
for clk:
I upgraded the hspl to 3.03, then installed clk 1.5. UNFORTUNATELY I am still getting the same message when I boot into recovery.
for stock rom: (I got it from t-mobile website which is the right one for my phone)
after failing to install clk, I FIRST downgraded the hspl to SPL 3.03.0000 and tried to flash the stock rom but the percentage bar doesn't even move. So I decided to try it with 2.08.0000 but the same thing happens. This doesn't happen when I have 3.03.HSPL or 2.08.HSPL, it actually loads when I have the hspl but then when it is done, I get stuck in "stick together" screen.

Maybe someone else has an idea, samsamuel might swing by but worth trying the above anyway...
best of luck

It is not working! I took off the battery and back on and kept holding the restore button like 10 times.
Ugh I got a headache working on this for a week.
Thank you for your help man! and I hope someone can find out what the heck is wrong with my phone.
