[Q] Huawei u8800+ questions - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello, i am looking into buying huawei u8800+ from Deal extreme .
can anyone direct me please on how can i upgrade from the 2.2 android that comes with this phone to 2.3 ? i need an "dummy" how to instructions.
also , i would like to install hebrew keybord on that phone. is that possible ? i heard that i can use MIUI rom for that. so, my next question is , how can i install MIUI ?
thank's
Elad

A) dl orig. rom from huawei
http://www.huaweidevice.com/cn/technicaIndex.do?method=gotoProductSupport&productId=3894&tb=0
package contains 3 folders (forget the 3rd - only china-apps -imho!?)
B) create a folder named "dload" on your sd-card
C) put in the update.app from folder 1 (+unplug usb)
D) go to settings\sd-card\software update and proceed
E) rename the UPDATE.APP from folder 2 to UPDATE_g.APP and repeat C)+D)
...at least that´s the way I did it and it worked

Hebrew?
Did you get the Hebrew to work? The Hebrew on my phone is backwards. Would like to know how to fix that.

[Q] MIUI english language pack on SD build

Hi,
I am pretty much new to this forum so please excuse me if I have not made an extensive search. I have an HD2 device running Win7 NoDo on nand and a MIUI build on SD using MAGLDR 1.13.
Can someone please explain how I can install an english language pack for the MIUI build? A lof of the settings in the build are in chinese and that is really frustrating. Do I have to install Clockwork recovery? and will that erase my Win7 installation?
It's better to ask this in the ROM thread you're looking to install for better support.
Thanks, but the issue is i can not post in the thread section yet so had to post here. :-(

after downloading this multilanguage pack unrar it in system folder delete build.prop. then in your miuirom find update folder, make a folder 'root' in update folder. then copy the content of language pack (meta-inf and system) into the root folder you just made. reboot phone. then select your language.

You've got a PM >
Remember, you CANNOT install the stock Roms from within the recovery.
To install a stock ROM, all you have to do is:
- Create a folder on the SD card named "dload"
- Get the contents (usually 2 big files) of the stock Rom archive and place them on the "dload" folder.
- Switch off the phone and press Vol+, Vol- and Power.
The stock Rom installation is automatic and you don't have to do anything during installation.
oh ok, good to know.
problem solved already tried to install older version of miui. the new version was messing with my phone nothing worked with it.
thanks anyway saving this for the future <3 !

I would advise against resizing the partitions, as it's difficult to restore them in case you need the phone for warranty.
I've sent you a PM with some info, let me know if you need more.

Can you access to your phones internal memory? if you can, put dload folder there. If you cant, just put dload folder to sdcard. Then boot your phone while holding both volume buttons down. Your phone should start updatng after it. when it's ready, your on .35 kernel.

What is inside in this "x" folder? If there is update.app, then create dload folder to sdcard and put the file there.

Once you have put the dload folder on, followed instructions to upgrade in previous posts, then follow this thread to put CWM on and install ICS:

Android 7.0 on P9 lite

I found a site with a tutorial on how to install Android 7.0 on P9 lite.On version VNS-L31C636B361 there are 3 files, and acording to them, you need to follow these steps:
Extract the contents of the zip files you downloaded from above.
Create a folder named “dload” in the root directory of your device’s SDcard.
Copy all the extracted contents of the zips into the dload folder.
Open the dialer app and dial *#*# 2846579#*# *
Select Project Menu > Software upgrade > SDcard upgrade > confirm the installation.
The firmware will begin installing and once that is done your device will reboot automatically.
But the problem is, if I extract all the contents from all 3 files, some of them have the same name and overwrite, and when I try to install by *#*# 2846579#*# *, it stops after 5% and gives me fail error.
What is the correct way to install and why are there 3 separate files ? (also, do I need to have some settings ? the phone should be connected to PC while installing ? )
Thank you very much!
What model you have?
Seems you have another oeminfo...
i have the same problem, it runs now on version vns-l31c432b161, if a want to install android 7 i get the same message as above

EDIT: i tried again and it stucks on 5%, doesnt say anything.
Good to know!
If you are in MM 6.0 you can not go to Nougat 7.0 without some preparation until Huawei release official version.
I you are already in Nougat 7.0 (B3xx) you can go to B360-B361, directly with Sdcard upgrade or with three keys pressed method.
U dint answer my question though.Let me be more clear.
Here is a tutorial on how to install Android 7.0 on P9 Lite: http://www.droidviews.com/update-huawei-p9-lite-manually-official-android-7-0-nougat-emui-5-0/
On my model, there are 3 files:
4. VNS-L31C636B361
update.zip
update_data_full_VNS-L31_B360_hw_meafnaf.zip
update_data_full_VNS-L31_B361_hw_meafnaf.zip
and they say
Extract the contents of the zip files you downloaded from above.
Create a folder named “dload” in the root directory of your device’s SDcard.
Copy all the extracted contents of the zips into the dload folder.
But some of the files from these 3 .zips have the same name, and when I copy them in the same folder, they overwrite.
Is that tutorial sh1t ?

I want to rollback my phone to MM and i am new on this. Need your help!

Hello guys. I don't want to do this without asking people who knows how to do the rollback.
The build number of my phone is : L31-C464.
I think i suppose to find the files of my build to do the rollback but i couldn't find them anywhere. I would really appreciate if someone could help me. Don't want to to do something wrong and brick my phone.
Hello there,
This is a guide to rollback
1) download the rollback package from this link; http://consumer.huawei.com/np/support/products/downloads/detail/p9lite-np.htm?id=93645
2) create a folder on your external SD cared named DLOAD and put the extracted UPDATE.APP file in there. (The file is inside the zip you downloaded)
3) Turn off the phone completely
4) Hold volume up, volume down and power simultaneously until you see the update screen (it will not UPdate, it will rollback
5) boot up the device and you should be on marshmallow
6) INSTALL OTA UPDATE (see more info in the PDF file provided in the zip)
