Does anyone else have a problem with the youtube app, being that it doesn't choose to watch videos in HQ by default. For each video I find my self racing in the menu to choose watch in high quality before the video starts. If I don't do it quick enough, the play time toggle pops up and I end up fast forwarding to the end, and then having to go to the menu again.. Why can't youtube just play HQ by default on my beautiful screen?? Anyone else feel my pain?

Use the mobile website. It's better.
Hmmm my Vibrant seems to default to HQ. Wonder why? I did just get it yesterday.
If your on wifi it defaults to hq if your on data it uses lq.
It happens to me too. I just use www.m.youtube.com
Much better and you can see new videos from your subscriptions.

Hi guys
After i updated from 2.2.2 to 2.3.4, the gallery on the version is all messed up, ie, no folders etc.
Everything is sorted via date......
Can anyone recommend a gallery viewer, or a fix, to be able to view the gallery via folders? (It does not provide that option when i go to sorting)
It makes it difficult searching for images located in different folders....
Thanks!

The first thing I do when installing a new rom is to let it build system files and then I open market once, accept the agreement, then reboot. Second thing? Freeze stock galleries and install quickpic.

If you want one that looks exactly like the one from S2, you can goto samsung apps and look for task manager, this will give you the same widget as the one that s2 had.

I assume .38 gigs is reserved for the system so it's not showing?

It removes them from the list. Just because there on the list doesn't mean they are running.

My understanding is the GPU requires this portion of system memory. Kind of like how some cheap onboard video cards in PC's used to. Which makes it all the better to have 2gb RAM. If not, you'd only have 620mb usable memory!

Dumb question but how do you sign up for a samsung account? When I first activated my phone I got a notification and started running through the samsung account signup but during the process the app crashed, I didn't finish, and it never notified me again and I couldn't figure out how to create the samsung account from scratch.

It closes the app. You can test this by going into task manager and go to the running apps. Now swipe away any of the corresponding app in the recent app(hold home) and then when you go back the task manager the app you just swipe will be gone or will eventually go away. Also your remaining ram will go up.

Hello
Many of you might notice that after you install an app certain adds are installed to your device such as notifications. I would like to know if there is any way to remove those notifications manually. The problem is that i dont know which app installed those adds... usually the icon image is a star. If you can help me post any solution. Thanks in advance

Search at google for an app "Lucky patcher".
This app removes the ads from almost all the apps.
Not sure if it is legal though...
A second-more difficult way is to decompile the apk and clear all the ad-calls, but I don't recommend it.
Cheers
The problem is that ive already tried that but i dont know which app to disable the adds and some apps when i try to disable the adds some patch are success full and others arent. :S

I see... If you don't know what app is causing the notification ads, an easy way to find out is to read the reports at Google Play for each of your apps. Somebody must have complained about it... I can't think of any other way right now...
Afterwards, you can try removing them with Lucky Patcher but it doesn't guarantee that it will succeed... As always...
If you're using a rooted ROM, just use adaway or an hosts file to block ads.

That g don't know, I use a hosts file and have no ads anywhere in the system. But then, I don't know if any of the apps I use throw ads in the notification area were I not using the said hosts file.
Anyway, there are apps that can tell you which app is the generator of the ads in the notification area. I don't know the name of it, but I've read about it. Then, when you find out which horrible app does that, just uninstall it and find an alternative...

There's that lookout ad security app in the market. Use that to see which ads are coming fro.where.
