Genie widget

I love the genie widget but I can't get it to with on any of the vibrant 2.2 roms. Does anyone here have a working apk for 2.2 vibrant?? I've searched all over but all I can find is the same one I've been using since my g1.

Ya the one I was using on eclair FC on froyo. So, I found one that works last night. No problems all day today...even auto finding my location.

How did you install it. At 1st I got cannot install so I used root explorer to put it in system apps. That let me install, but all I get is fc when I try to use it

I used Root exp. Try rebooting your phone and see if that works. What way did you try installing the first time before root exp?

Thanks for your help but I can't seem to get it to work. I usually install directly from the download file in astro. I then tried using root explorer.

Is this the version of the program that brings up news stories in the program itself or does this version just display the headlines and opens the stories in the browser?

I posted a link to smoked glass geneiwidget in apps if interested. Looks better. It has about 70% transparency

Does anyone have the new Facebook app on their dinc with Cyanogen 7 rom? I keep getting force closes when i try to open "friends" or "profile."

yea dont worry its facebooks fault they are coming with an update if you can just restore it for now i know it sucks can barely even use the app.. :-(

I dont have a link handy but what I did was just google "Facebook 1.5.2 apk" and downloaded from a file site. Probably not the safest thing ever, but I trust my e-instincts
1.5.3 is borked, so dont update it unless it's 1.5.4 (and the issues are fixed)

there you go. it should just install. i pulled it from my data/app folder. you will have to uninstall the update and the try to install. if it dont work then you will have to push it to the folder with adb or if you wait i can make a zip when im off work.

Yeah, I get fc's when I select: Profile, Friends, Messages, and the search magnifying glass and whenever I try to go to someones profile from the newsfeed. Highly disappointing :/

My Market App disappeared, strange....It was there, icon is there, but app is gone.

It is weird. I had the app and used it and now the icon is there, but it wouldn't work. Then when I looked in the app area it isn't there. I have Kings speed Rom I think. I'll have to check to make sure. It has sense 3.0. Has anyone had their market vanish. I see post where people are asking how to install it, but I've always had it for like 2 weeks.

Have you flashed a2sd?

Reflash the rom without wiping data - just wipe cache and dalvik. You of course have to know what rom you're running to be able to reflash it.

Epic win!

You can pull the market apk from the rom via 7zip or winzip or whatever, and push it to your /system/app/ folder

Or just do a quick Google search for android market and reinstall like you would an app. I accidentally deleted my market once and did that, worked just fine

Just redownload the app again. Its those random glitch happens before to me too when flashing new roms.

ok, download app seems ideal
I signed onto android market on my pc and tried to download it and it kept saying the app is not compatible. I just realized it is an app for an android tablet. I need to figure out where to find the regular android market for a phone. I did a search on market.android.com and it keeps finding the tablet version.

ATRIX Gallery Issue

Im having an issue with the "Albums" section of my Gallery. Every time I tap on "Albums" or want to add photos to an album that section force closes and takes me back to Gallery Home.
I have force stopped the service and tried again, I have also re-installed the OS.
Its the latest Orange UK build of Gingerbread.

Are you rooted and/or unlocked? Have you tried fixing permissions? Have you tried clearing data by going to
[Settings > Applications > Manage applications]
then selecting the "All" tab and find Gallery and "Clear data"?
Is there any possibility the data might have been corrupted? Can you access the photos any other way?

I can access all my photos its literally just the "Albums" section like if I want to add photos. They updated it so that you can also get your Facebook albums. I haven't rooted my device and have also gone to Gallery under all applications and force closed and restarted, still getting the issue.
Is the Quickpic on Marketplace or is it an app on these forums?

QuickPic is in the market. Did you try the "Clear Data" button as well in Manage Applications?

I dont really like how Quickpic makes Albums but its a small thing, only other thing is that it can't retrieve fb albums and automatically upload photos that aren't already online but I can live with that.
I did ask customer services at Motorola and they just told me that my phone was faulty and needed repairs, but that means being without a phone for 2+ weeks.
I would greatly recommend Quickpic if anyone has been having the same problems, Motorola are crap for this issue.

Gallery app ?

Does anyone know of a good app for the photos? I really do not like the way the gallery is laid out. I have tried a few, but they do not upload directly from the camera.

Love Quickpic, but it has no support for Picasa.

I love QuickPic and use it regularly. I just wish I could find an app that showed gallery in a hirearchial structure. ie. I have pics in several folders by event under a folder 2011, however you don't see the parent folder structure organization, so they aren't as informative. Yes, I know I can embedded the dates in the exif data, but dates were just the easiest example, could also be done for wallpapers based on category, but I dropsync both tablet and phone images on the phone and have same folders under each parent directory.
Haven't found any other app that does this, unless it's a feature I missed in QuickPic or Scalado Album( which is also pretty decent ).

Dropbox?
If you don't have it yet that is a referral link and if you use that to sign up we both get 500mb of space for free. Also dropbox's app seems to work well and you get free space for uploading pictures, up to 3gigs from just uploading photos =D. You can give links out directly from your dropbox so it should work for what you want not sure what else there is for it. *Oh and there is a nice toggle for only uploading while you are in wifi if you want that so save data and it will do it automatically*
I don't think I would pay for a service like dropbox but it is awesome with it being free.
