Not sure if it has filtered down yet but any of us trying to get software hosted on Megaupload are out of luck us the US DOJ has shut it down :-(
Even more reason we dont want SOPA/PIPA, They could toast places like XDA for "hosting" or even linking to "pirated" stuff eg if a copy of swype ended up on here, or even WM or WP7 roms.
Bad times
I will miss MU, it was the best free file sharing site, for anything, mostly as it was fast, had a well designed UI, and didnt have stupid captchas that you couldnt do on your mobile.

That totally sucks, Megaupload was beast . Anyone want to download LOIC?
Sucks BIG TIME!
Glad I was able to finish my downloads day before yesterday
The irony for those premium members
I think is moving time for sites from US, to outside US. If China is smart enough it will host them . Like allways US it will lose alot of internet money, wich will come in Europe, Russia and Asia.
Good luck USA ......

There is going to be a fire-sale in the US soon from now. I'm investing now in some popcorn cause this show is only just starting
Viva the revolution ... haha
Just a quick question. So the Movie and Music industry is complaining about not hitting their 100 billion target for last year and now blaming it on the public. Funny how not 1 sent of that money goes to bettering any community but rather line the already filthy rich people with just more money.
Good Job America. You just showed us how greedy you really are. If you don't want people to pirate your stuff get better security or employ more competent people to make it unpiratable. Not my problem you make it so easy to copy your stuff. That's your own fault.
Sad to Learn about the news on MU.... ):
well, according to me,no one can stop piracy...Until and Unless The I.T. Law Introduce some new Technology to tackle this problem.
because even if MU is gone, there are 100s or 1000s of new sites that are based on "one click" hosting online service.
so it's impossible to stop Piracy. and what a foolish reason to accuse MegaUpload LOL...i guess Federal prosecutors need to get life...
or
they are noob to Internet world.
or
there is some politics behind band over Mu...
Oh well...Will Miss You MU.

Mods please delete this post, this didn't turn out at all how I wanted it to. I wasn't trying to get a new phone from anyone or anything like that, sorry I came off that way. I also wasn't trying to make any monetary gain. I just shot this thread up real quick before I went somewhere today and I obviously didn't think about how it would be perceived to everyone.
Are you kidding me, you come here and ask us to pitch in money to buy you a phone?
Please go back to the other side. We support our own developers and moderators who put in countless time and energey to develop, publish, and
answer. This is who we should support, and don't always properly do so.
And they don't come with their hands out telling us if we give them this, they will do that.
Go back to you little site and quit trolling here.
So you want us to buy you a phone so you can review and post about kernels/roms/boot animations on your Comcast At Home site?
I mean....we do this here for free... I'm not sure exactly what service you offer, but other than putting out an opinion that is probably incredibly biased by your personal taste....doesn't seem like anything anyone would be interested in...

This is what gets me....hell Domains are CHEAP, hosting is CHEAP. As many hits as you don't get a day, you could probably run a site for less than $50 a year.
Wow, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just can't afford the phone to do the testing on, so I thought I would throw it out there. If someone I knew had the phone I would just borrow it from them every time a new kernel dropped for updating. Mods can remove this thread, offending people was the last thing I wanted.
$450? The hell?
Look on Craigslist, in my area Evo and Epic 4G's go for around $200-250
Edit: Not to mention that you could get one with a bad ESN for even less.
That reminds me, I wonder if my Angelfire website is still around.....

Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I think we succeeded in giving him a headache and alot of negative press. They say that ANY attention is better than none at all tho. I know the site was down for like a day or so but it was up and running not shortly after and is currently. Here ya go:http://lmgtfy.com/?q=akaskriller
Skrillers site it up... BUT, I believe we were able to get all the paid apps off the site (which I am sure was a big draw for some to his site) and I believe a lot of the developers ROMs have been removed. I imagine the stuff up there now is his kanging.
Still illegal to have it behind a $5 donate wall.. still not crediting our developers... but the community is a lot better off now than it was a month ago.

Not trying to defend him but access to the site costs $5 not the roms or cracked apps. The apps are not on his site, their just links. So technically its not illegal.
What you guys did was helpful somewhat. You made people aware of his action but bought attention to him. Good or bad, doesn't matter.

You are incorrect. You can't put Android behind a $5 donate wall, which it is. He DID have paid apps on his site, because of us, he no longer does. Maybe the guy who made the app will actually get paid now. There is a thought.
I'm pretty upset that megaupload was shut down by the feds. I had a very important rom uploaded on there and now I can not access it. Rom devs if you have used this site to upload your rom(s) to, your pretty much screwed:

Yes this is total BS. It just proves that the powes that be aren't interested in following the same guidelines they set forth for others. This particular action isn't just an infringement of rights, it's a clear abuse of power. They have no interest in fair and just. This is a clear indicator that if we let them continue down this path, one day we shall all be asking for permission to use our once freedom of speech. They hide their attack of our rights by saying that certain individuals were pirating. But in reality it's the same as confiscating your home, and every house in your neighborhood. Because a person three blocks over might be stealing cable. In essence it is downright ludacris.

The FBI site didn't even go down, basically, they're not as amazing as they thought. In a way I want to see them prevail but it's inhumanly possible, I can only imagine that they'll eventually be found and arrested, sparking conversy and if anything that'll light the fire for the fight against these bills, and overall a new outlook on human rights.
Might prove me wrong though

Yup, the whole reason they attacked megaupload was because of all the sites like this one protesting against SOPA. Hello even google protested against it. It just goes to show how much of a bully our government can be when people speak their minds. It's like them saying "you don't have rights to free speech or to decide what we the fed government do" or "we make the laws not you the people".

Yup looks like even sites that are US based can/will get shut down by the US. Over the years i've come to hate us(america) and all the bull**** we "stand for" I see why everyone hates us and i'm really thinking about moving to Canada or some place else in the upcoming years
Sending an attack directly to fbi.gov is really dumb and childish. It's also a great way to get caught. I'm pretty sure they'll get traced back pretty quickly.

Yeah but the problem is most of them are located in other countries hiding behind proxies. And a lot of isp's don't want to co-operate, and tech they don't have to if they are in certain countries. That's why they call themselves anonymous because it's really hard to find them. Trust me they've gotten smarter since the last time people got arrested. I've done my research on it.

Hey, fellow Galaxy S3 users!
The mothership (Google) is calling. They want us to join hands and sign a petition for a free internet!
http://www.google.com/intl/en/takeaction/
What's happening, you ask?
"Some of these governments are trying to use a closed-door meeting in December to regulate the Internet."
"Proposed changes to the treaty could increase censorship and threaten innovation."
So, please, let's sign it for a free internet!
UPDATE: The U.S., Canada, U.K., and a lot of other nations have refused to sign the treaty!!!!!!! That's excellent news for people as the internet gets to stay censor-free!!!!

Yep that's the whole point of Elevate, at least currently they just want you to advertise HTC to social media by saying they give away stuff(not sure if someone actually got anything).
Seems that previously was beta tests but due to leaks to xda-developers they stopped it.
