I just received my evo4g from sprint and rooted/flashed etc to cm7. with cm7 kernel + rom + amon ra recovery.
After I did all of this I used it for a couple days and I was having very bad battery life (4 and a half hours of normal use). This is strange considering others with similar setups are getting leaps and bounds more than I am.
I changed the kernel to tiamat 4.1 and undervolted the proc via vipermod, but I am not seeing any gains.
I have even re calibrated the battery and battery life seems worse (4hours of normal use from 100%-0%)
Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Why is my phone dying so quickly?
(I dont have a screen cap but cell radio says 37%-40% avg of battery use each 100-0 discharge (if my memory is serving me well)).
Help.
Try upgrading or downgrading radios from calkulins thread in dev section sometimes its a trial and error or different combos if radio wimax pri and NV, in your battery info is your awake bar solid or broken up if broken what's it look like compared to the screen on bar a screeny would be nice

I just upgraded to the most recent radios per your suggestion, I will do a full charge + a battery calibrate tomorrow to see what my batt life is like now.
If u still have the issue get me a screen shot of your battery info with the status bars on the bottom that say cell radio, screen on, awake and what ever the last one is, if u go to the battery info in about phone and click on the top graph it will pull up the extended graph page with that info
Still having the issue

You appear to be having a minor wakelock issue, search for the radio pack for wakelocks on GB by calkulin and give it a shot its a combo of older radios and pri NV should be radio 2.15.xx.x2 can't remember the exact number and pri or NV is 1.77 not sure if both are or one is something different but there's a thread about the radio wakelock on gb and it has the flashable pack it fixed my issue but now I'm on the most recent available pack from calkulin and haven't had too bad of a wakelock issue I had a minor one the first day but it seems to have settled down now

What's the deal. My phone went from 60ish% battery life to 9% in less than a couple of hours. On top of that, it's been running really slow. I knew something was up. Pulled up my handy-dandy SystemPanel and saw that the process "mediaserver" was running at 100% exactly during the time I saw a huge drain in battery. What is this process and how can I avoid this from happening in the future?! I think it started after I played with my camera and camcorder a bit.
Also, I never noticed this happening with previous Fresh versions. Seems consistent with Fresh 3.1.0.1.
Thanks in advance...

It's a bug in your rom that comes into play after using the camcorder. Check out the rom thread, but I don't think there's a fix yet.

I had that happen on one of the nightly builds from CM when I did a upgrade without a wipe. Did Cache wipe and DV Cache and all was well, no idea what caused it though
Now that I think about it I seem to recall it happening after I used the Video Cam and it would flake out and then that Media Server drain would kick in
Freshness!
Good to know it isn't something unique to my phone. I'll peek in at the Fresh thread for the time being. As far as doing a wipe goes. I always do 2x wipe of the cache and DV cache before and after installing anything via recovery. Don't think that would resolve this issue completely.
Make sure your geo-tagging option in the camera is off.
Is that the culprit?! Don't remember ever turning that on.
Anyone else having this issue?! It's really bothering me and it is hindering my camcorder unusable...
bump!!!!!!!!!!
Am I really alone with this issue?! It's consistent with me. Rendering my Camcorder unusable.
I believe I can make a "hack" that will resolve the TWS 50% bug if someone can help me learn how to enable/disable airplane mode (or just the radio) from a shell script...
So does anyone know where this setting is stored and how to update it in a script?
I have reviewed the output of the below code and did not see anything that worked.
Code:
adb shell getprop
I have also reviewed the /sys/ directory on the phone and not yet found anything.
I know it is there somewhere...
ahh, the man! even with a busted phone... here to help!
--------------------------------------------
i've had a "50% TWS" phone for a few days (a friend has been my "test dummy")...
that being said, i think the 50% TWS bug is a "myth" in regards to battery life, etc. it's so random (never happens after a fresh flash... only after a reboot)... and i've flashed about 50 ROMS with NO DIFFERENCE at all
battery life is pretty much identical... so i'm not sure what the deal is (as my buddy says, he just ignores it... as doing the airplane trick has no effect on him).
i've built a 2.1 ROM from RUU with JulyOTA... as soon as it's rebooted after 1st flash, 50% TWS is there. but again, battery life on my phone (no 50% TWS bug) and his are identical (for the most part)... we can each go almost 2 days w/o a charge now.
--------------------------------------------
but... GOOD LUCK. it would be good for "peace of mind" for those that are concerned... as i KNOW ppl will disagree with me
...this...could...be...EPIC!

Exactly. I've found 0 effect on battery life. It's just annoying as hell when you think your battery is draining fast, so you go in there to check it out, and you see 50% TWS.
I agree with you, Tenzo. Although I do understand that some people are concerned with this. I don't even bother doing the airplane trick anymore, because I have also not noticed any difference whether I do or don't.

hmm...
Well I can keep myself from getting connect to the internet but what is the command to turn the radio off and back on?
"netcfg tiwlan0 down" dose turn the internet service off but does not seem to "cycle" the phone in that it does not know that it is off...
interestingly when I run netcfg with airplane mode on tiwlan0 is not listed...
anything more?
I've read something in the JuiceDefender description when turning of 3G or mobile data or something that says "this may turn radio on/off".
Can anyone explain why I have 100% time without signal in cell standby. I used my phone all day sending texts and making calls. Also, the signal bar is constantly yellow on the battery graph. Should this be green?
Cheers

Confirmed. thanks. very random
Thanks confirmed that temporarily fixes the 100% The captivate did this as well when I had it but always showed 50 percent without signal and you could turn on airplane mode and turn it off to fix it. However that method doesn't seem to work for this but the about phone method does

Got my galaxy yesterday and I have this bug too. I was a little scared because on S1 it meant battery drain. When I woke up this morning I had 99% battery after 9 hours since charging. But I was still curious and thats why Im here.
Glad its nothing serious Hope it will go away when I finally choose a custom rom to flash...
EDIT: just noticed the last reply date, well sorry, found this thread through search. (Hey at least I didnt create a new thread asking the same thing!)
How do I get rid of it?

Hey
my screenshots looks nearly the same and I try to understand this ConnectivityServices too. Any suggestions?

Are we in the wrong Forum?
Connectivityservice
I am also suffering from huge battery drain after flashing CM 10.1 due to ConnectivityService wakelock and ActivityManager wakelock. I have searched on the Internet for a solution but found nothing yet. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am really frustrated with this problem.
Bump.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30088906&postcount=3
hope it'll help
Also have the same issue on my OnePlus One running Exodus 5.0.2 rom.
Connectivityservice wakelock ongoing for 5 hours, no apps installed other than betterbatterystats. All data is off, set to 2G, no roaming etc. Tried suggestion here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30088906&postcount=3
Didn't help. Tried several radios, neither works. I get great signals, battery graph shows signal strength as green so it's OK and apps like Network Signal Info showed that I'm getting a -60dbm signal which is pretty decent. Still, not sure why I'm getting this wakelock.
On my Galaxy Note 3, I've had similar issues as well running CM or AOSP based roms. However on custom Touchwiz roms, it doesn't exist. Radios are all the same coz the custom roms for Galaxy Note 3 don't touch the radios (I confirmed it's the same anyway using Phone Info). So maybe it's a CM/AOSP thing?

This is a Nexus 4 forum/thread, I'd suggest you either post in the 1+1 forum, or in the BetterBatteryStats thread in Android Apps & Games (with a log). That thread is specialised in wakelock analysis...
I have heard, though, of several 1+1 users mentioning this wakelock recently.
Hello everyone, I seem to be getting really bad battery life on my unlocked Moto x. I have 4.4.3 on it now but I've been having battery issues as long as I can remember. I tried turning Active Display and Touchless Control off and still no help. I RMA'd my old moto x for battery issues and this new one seems horrible too. Also, I am on wifi for about half of the day, have location services off, and screen brightness at about half most of the time. You can see how bad my battery is with my screenshots that I posted. Thanks for your help!

Factory reset . I always do after an update or rom flash. Yes you will lose data but if your rooted you should know what to do ,if not then well maybe we here is a non root backup option .

If that game of yours is calling 30 mins worth of wake locks, it's not the phone's problem, it's a poorly-coded game. That and facebook syncs a little too much even when the damn thing is disabled. I log out from facebook to ensure that it doesn't call upon any unnecessary wake locks.
Your phone is at roughly 50% after 4-5hrs, your screen on time is at nearly an hour, which isn't horrible considering that that game is still keeping your cpu awake for 1/8 of the phone-on time.
If I were you, I'd play the game, then swipe it away from the recents window to make sure it stays off. Your battery life will probably improve.
That and turn off location history, and also the wifi scanning setting, those both decrease the battery life for me.
Touchless controls and active display are built into the kernel, so they're definitely not the cause of your drain.
Show us some screen shots after running from 100 to like 10 percent. They'll paint a more accurate picture. Include the graph screen. ?

Some info on your setup would help.
What's running what's not. I.e. location services, gnow, what's syncing...etc.
Screen brightness?
Stuff like that.
Have you ever ran it until it died? When I went to 4.4.2(?) the battery life was bad. I found it needed recalibrated. I just kept playing YouTube and even though it said 1% it played for several hours before dying. After that I saw "normal" drain.

It is very unlikely that you have received 2 defective Moto Xs. Since you continue to have issues, logic would suggest that the issue is happening because of your particular configuration. One or more of your apps are probably not playing nice...
We may be able to help you further troubleshoot if you can provide the info @KJ has requested. Since the vast majority of us are experiencing excellent battery life with our Xs, we will need this additional info about your unique setup.
Please use the existing thread for battery related discussion: How is your battery life?
Thanks!
