When bought the phone it is already 2.3.6. I am from malaysia too. But anyone noticed that the note is a bit laggy compared to s2? I used s2 before the note and the note isn't that smooth. Any advises? Custom roms? Which would help?

Lucky u..i can confirm, 2.3.5 is much laggy compare to 2.3.6. Anyway, after ICS update, for sure our Note will fly!
Of cause Note is laggy compare to S2, for note we have higher resolution screen, 3 times higher than S2. That why the Exynos CPU have to work 3 times harder than S2.
There is a bounch of custom rom at development section. Go there n try it. I honestly, not a flash addict n dont belive my self doing it ;P
Good luck to u!

KL2 is a VERY old and outdated rom build!!! there are several versions in between that and the actual LA3!
flash LA1 or LA3 instead, THEN you will feel real performance improvement!!
KL2
K=2011
L=12 Dec
2= second build in Dec/11
LA3
L=2012
A=01 Jan
3= third build in Jan/12

welcome!
this info is in several threads scattered over the whole forum, just search!
sorry, but i do not have any specific thread in mind, and you would be as fast with searching as i am...
in short: with this "number system" you can tell how actual your rom is. just translate as i showed!
first letter is always the year, starting with 2000. therefore L=2012
second letter represents the month: A=Jan B=Feb ...
third digit is a internal build number of that month in increments of 1. a letter as 3rd digit tells you that it's over ten: A=10 B=11 ...not every build is released (or leeched) to public!

samsung NEVER published a changelog for any regular rom-update, besides some unsharp things like "performance improved", etc.
and most user comments about changes are unusable because they come from different base, didnt notice that some of the "new" changes existed in their old rom before etc., so it's almost never objective!

Also, for the person who asked about a change log, or something to that effect... the update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 was a good one (imo!) Got a few new welcomed features, the keyboard has been redesigned, it has Samsung's latest TouchWiz UI for the G-Tab! Overall, I have NO complaints! Personally, I just hope that Jelly Bean is on the horizon for us! Truthfully, i have high hopes that it will be! This is a fairly new tab and is more than capable i think!

Look under settings/about phone.
Here you find your current firmware details. If you combine this information with what carrier you are using and try searching either XDA or simply Google it I'm sure you will find something. There are lots of forums out there that does nothing but discuss these things.
In short, search!

So I am not tripping. I noticed it being quite a bit smoother after my update. Which is scary. I can't imagine how smooth it can be with Jelly Bean.
But as has been said this update might be an old update .
Update with no details of what firmware does not exist and is a pointless post and for all we know may just be yet another dumb hoax .

Galaxy S III: An awful device

Ok, maybe it's not completely useless but how on earth can a top-device-less-than-three-months-ago lag at every single move I make?
The situation gets considerably better with cyanogenmod and I'll never stop thanking devs for that, anyway it's still not the fluidity you'd expect.
Has it finished its time?

The only reports of lag are often caused by overclocking and the SoC begins to wear down.
I find the device faster than any I've tried, On CM10.1 its not as smooth as Nexus 4 because Project Butter is a load of **** on a non-Nexus device but it performs tasks better in my opinion.

Never experienced any lag with any of the roms I've tried so far. If it did, a wipe did the trick. Been usimg stock ics/jb, leaked jb, sammy omega, wanam, cm10, cm10.1, paranoid, aokp, ultima. I think I had a few others in between as well. Been using stock or siyah depending on if I forget to flash siyah after rom but no lag. Oced to 1.6ghz, uved around 100-150mvs per clock.
Absolute charm except for taking a while when waking device.

totally disagree with that, i have had loads of expaerience with android devices, phones and tablets and i have to say that the s3 is my first samsung phone, and its amazing in every way i love it, best device i have owned.
maybe your just expecting a little too much from your device set your expectations too high perhaps
R: Galaxy S III: An awful device
Thank god someone got what I mean. It's been advertised as top, it simply doesn't have the numbers to be qualified as top. I really can't imagine myself using an ios device, but have you seen you does iphone reacts to user stimuli? It's on another planet x.x
If there's an android that has iphone's responsiveness to human stimuli, that's the perfect smartphone :&
Anyway, could it possibly be the single gb of memory?
How much you guys can feel it doubled in nexus 4/ note ii/ i9305?

No idea what's going on with your device, zero lags here and this is my third android device (in 6 years) and by far the best. As for no longer being top of the tree after three months (I thought it was released may 2012? no?) that's technology my friend. Try reading around and installing either an aosp rom, or a modded samsung base, BTW cm is not great on the sgs 3 due mainly to Samsungs policy of not releasing the sources or documentation the devs require.

HTC has been very quiet about HTC devices that would receive some form of Sense 5.0. But a leak has come up for the HTC Speedy! Apparently Sense 5,0 has been slimmed down enough to run on devices with the S2 processor. Unfortunately devices like the OG Evo will NOT be supported.
HTC did not include Beats™ Audio, and Boomsound , Along with HTC Zoe.
It has received features such as
All new redesigned Sense UI
HTC Blinkfeed to view all your news sources at a glance
New camera options
Jelly Bean 4.1.2
The zip provided below has the full update. I have removed the bootloader and recovery img's so that you are able to keep your unlocked bootloaders and custom recovery's in tact.
Flash in recovery with the file on the root of your SD Card
Please flash under your own warrant as I do not take any responsibility for what happens to your device.
This is also a follow up to last years leaked OTA thread that can be found HERE
ZIP
I won't be updating or messing with this so it is just going in General section. Devs feel free to base off of it.
Beautiful xD

Let me be the first to say thanks, also can't wait for your custom kernel on 4.2.2:good:
Not gonna ask anything out of the ordinary... but are you test driving this build? And if so... is it any faster or smoother then the currently available ROMs?
From the screens, i'm not really seeing much difference yet...
-- EDIT --
Oh, i completely posted this reply too soon, i was interrupted while writing it
I'm not saying the not noticing much difference is a bad thing, i'm just curious
-- EDIT 2 --
The latest screenies added changed the whole perspective... this is getting nicer by the screenshot! Can't wait for it to get released! :fingers-crossed:
Love it as its got the New transparent status and notification bars. Does it have the PS3 controller wireless settings? If so mite have to think of unlocking boot finally on my personal Z, as can't be without linking virtual folders from SDcard2 to internal
Nice work Doom as always
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
hope the latest 4.2.2 of this build will be easy to root:fingers-crossed:
would be a shame if were to downgrade from .350 just to maintain root until 4.2.2
DO NOT ASK FOR DUMP!
DO NOT ASK FOR ETA OF RELEASE!
DO NOT ASK FOR CHECKING FEATURES!
DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE
Any chance of a D=dump, ETA for UK, any new features, and source? Are you a QA guy or something?
Looks good.
Hope my XZ is fixed by the time that firmware is released.
looks nice. but i dont expect next 5 months

Wasn`t the 4.2.2 ROM supposed to be on kernel version 3.6? I saw in the screenshot that it is still version 3.4.

WOW WOW , thanks man , I start loving you with my xperia s and now with xperia Z ,, you make me smile when I see your threads
if it possible to answer if we can access the camera while we have a pin code or security pattern ?? or if we can add a widget to access the camera while we using pin code/pattern ?? I hope they add this feature to 4.2.2 (the lock screen is useless while we using pin code , even we can't use different wallpaper for the home screen and lock screen when using pin code/pattern )
